Very rough interior roads, jacks sunk into soft ground, low voltage, (115-116), surge protector showed an open ground when we arrived. Maintenance arrived in 3 minutes and repaired. I was impressed. This campground uses a 2 pipe sewer system. Gray goes into a leach field. Black goes into a 50 gallon tank that is pumped out by staff as needed. Gray water is leached into the ground for irrigation. Beware! You cannot open your gray water valve normally and empty any accumulated water in your tank. It has to trickle out or will bubble out of the pipe onto the ground. Owner was unapologetic and said I had the instructions for the two pipe system. True, but they said nothing about not being able to open your gray valve normally. She said the instructions said to ask questions. I said I didn't have any. I followed the instructions exactly. She said they always talk to the men because the women don't get it right anyway. My wife checked us in. They didn't talk to me and I am not sure I cared for the demeaning remark about my wife and women campers in general. I visited with the other owner earlier and he was fantastic. Bottom line she screwed up by not giving me enough information and then assumed that "aggressive defensive" posture when I said they needed to update the instruction sheet. She said in 31 years nobody had complained about the instruction sheet. Oh well. I have been camping 50 years and have not run into "full" hookups where you couldn't open your valve normally. Should I have known that??? I don't think so. This was all about communication or the lack there of. Be informed about sewer. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Motorhome.

We liked the park, the folks were friendly enough. Our parking spot was cramped in a corner next to a unit. Then they boxed us in with another rig the next day. Had to ask the unit people in front of us when we got ready to leave after 3 nights. Not too impressed with those things but it turned out to be a pretty nice park. Kind of a mixed bag. Liked the pool, we were able to get satellite TV which was important to us. We were not too far away from a couple surrounding state capitals so that was good. Dump station was fine. We camped in a motorhome. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Separate connections for gray and black water. Instruction sheet supplied on how to use. We had no problem with the separate sewer hookup. Office provided clear instructions about gray water & black water connections. Nominal voltage 114 with one A/C on. Most short term parking is in an open field next to a nice pavilion. We had a shady, level site next to trees. Due to water restrictions (wells), has pay showers. The handout "campground rules" does not mention this but should have. Very convenient to Sturbridge/Sturbridge Village. We would stay here again. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

A nice campground, our site was in a big open field, pull through with water and electric. Had a big rain while we were there so there was standing water everywhere, 12hours to dry out. Easy in and out, only one dump site so a line forms on Sunday when most people leave. My only gripe the shower was twenty five cents for nine minutes and it took three minutes to get water that was warm enough to start your shower, water never got hot. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Motorhome.

When we called to make a reservation at the above titled campground, they lied about three things: 1. Said they had Dish Cable Service for all-Did not have Cable service. 2. The site we had was to be Pull Through it was not. Very limited pull through sites. 3. The site claimed to have sewage "full hook up "it was not. We had water and 30 Amp. (" barely") electricity. The biggest problem was the claim of sewage hook-ups. Even when they had a two-section system one for gray one for black. Neither worked. When my husband went to the main office to inquire about the issue with the sewage, he was received by a young man, who was cocky and blew him off., he said that they would take care of it by pumping out our lines. We waited one full day. When they arrived the machine only pumped out their holding barrel, not our rig! We found out that in actuality they do not have any REAL SEWAGE hook ups. Each permanent resident that stays full time gets pumped out once a week. A very bad thing to claim if you do not have full hook up. What they have is a hole - its surrounded by rocks where the grey water is supposed to leach though, some have 55-gallon barrels with them peppered with holes to let the grey out. Black water this hook up is only a 55-gallon barrel and when it is full it is full. When we release the black water into the hook up we always flush it out with the gray water so nothing icky is stuck in the sewage hose. If you turn on the microwave with the air conditioner running EVERYTHING WILL SHUT DOWN. What I can say good about this place is that the full timers take pride in their camping are and it is extremely neat and clean. The full timers are very nice and accepting of any new comer. This will not be my first pick next time in the area. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you are willing to drive 15-20 minutes to get to civilization, grocery stores, restaurants, even gas stations. Be familiar with the surrounding roadways and then it will be easier to navigate to places of intrest. Bird watching, lakes, woods, Sturbridge Village even a car race track. All are nearbye if you study your map before arriving.

We spent two nights here just as the park was closing for the winter. Services were being shut-down, but the owners welcomed us and were very helpful. It is a lovely site along a quiet, country road in rural Mass. It has lots of facilities and looks like a real "family-friendly" campground.
Old Sturbridge Village is next door. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A large selection of stores is in the surrounding towns and cities. This camp will be busy in the summertime so call ahead for a site. Sites are big and large RVs won't have problems. It is all gravel and sand driveways, but there's lots of grass in between sites.

We stayed in one of their non-seasonal sites in the wooded area and loved it. Needed a little help with their grey water system, but asked the owners for some help and they were very professional and accomadating. The whole campground is clean especially the bathrooms and everyone was very friendly. They have activities through out the weekend for adults and kids. Will definitely be camping here over and over again. Thank you! We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The comments below are taken from a posting years ago but reflect current conditions very well. In fact most of the 16 previous posts are generally accurate. I feel the last postings from 2013 have a bit of negativity this facility does not deserve. It is a very nice place to stay. We observed large rallies in the safari area while here and they seemed to have a great time.

We stayed in Oak Haven for a month while in Massachusetts. We found Oak Haven's staff and owners to be very friendly and very accommodating. We were in the seasonal area of the park instead of in the sunny wide open grassy field area. The pool was the cleanest I have ever seen. The plantings were eye appealing. The grounds were well manicured. The roads were narrow with dirt and gravel surface and they kept washing out with all of the rain, but they were quickly repaired. There were many seasonals but all of them were friendly and helpful. I will stay here again next time we are in the area. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a family friendly campground run by very nice folks who take good care of it. The office has a camp store and a nice deck with umbrellaed tables and chairs near the pool which is well kept. There is security to control entry via a card key system that opens the gate to enter. The front open meadow seems to house those who stay only a few nights, like us, along with some seasonals along the outside. The larger back area houses more campers in a wooded area. The waste system is septic tank with leach fields. Sites have 2 waste outlets per site - one for black water and the other for grey. The shower/bathroom nearest the meadow has 4 toilets and 4 showers per gender. The map shows a second shower/toilet building in the back section. Showers are coin driven (25 cents) which is understandable to conserve water as they are also on wells here. Showers and toilets were extremely clean. Shower stalls are narrow but deep, each with a small inset alcove with a bench and hooks. Right next to the bathhouse is a small rec hall with a pool table, one arcade type game, an area with puzzles and the like and a few other things. Next is a large, flat playground with a gravel base. Across from that is a volleyball court and a basketball hoop. There is a pavilion near the pool as well where functions are conducted. What we saw was a well laid out, clean and friendly place in the middle of the hills of MA and worthy of a return visit. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here one night. Interior roads are in very rough shape; had to back into our site uphill. No sewer on our spot, although I had asked for one - they wouldn't change our spot. Quite a ways off main highways. The nice thing was lots of trees.

I wouldn't stay here again. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park has a few full hook up sites, but black water and grey water connections are separate. When we tried to hook up, we could not dump grey water since the connector neck was full. This park has $showers, which is something I have never understood, none the less, we had to use them since we could not dump grey water. I question big rig access to most of this park, the road to our site was up a steep incline and very rough. To leave we had to take a very circuitous route from our site. WiFi reception was spotty. We would keep driving rather than stay here again. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This park served our purposes for an overnight on the way to Maine. Although 15 miles off the interstate (I-90), it does run parallel to the highway, so you can continue out the other way. The ads show nice shady sites, but those are the seasonal sites in the back. Over nighters are put into a confusing open field with boulders exposed. Tough to pull back out of the pull through sites without being very careful of where you go. No sewer hookup, but dump station available. Found the bath house dated but clean, though refused to use the "pay your quarters" showers. This always annoys me, and would rather pay extra upfront on the camp fee than this "nickel and dime" thing. Supposedly saving water? One shower was leaking badly and could not be turned off. Laundry room available, with 2.00 washers and 1.50 dryers. We camped at Oak Haven Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with a very friendly staff. As soon as we registered we were invited to come to the free Mother's Day breakfast. Most of the sites are huge seasonal sites and we had one of those. Most transient sites are in a large field which wasn't as nice as the site we had. The only negative was the narrow, rocky interiors roads. I would come back here whenever I'm in the area.
