We stayed here overnight on our way to Acadia NP in order to visit the Yankee Candle Co. in S. Deerfield. The facilities were tired. We used the toilets, but not the showers. The office facility had a lounge area, but it wasn't at all inviting, and there were no supplies available for sale, as you might expect to find. The staff member we talked with had not been alerted to our reservation, but was friendly and accommodating. Our site was flat and easily accessible in an open field. There were quite a few seasonal sites tucked back in the woods. I would consider stopping here for a day, or so, to visit the local attractions, but only out of convenience. We camped at White Birch Campground in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Yankee Candle Co. is interesting, but way over-commercialized in comparison to what it was when we visited back in the mid-90's. If you are close to it, it might be worth a stop, but I wouldn't go a long way off my route to get to it. There is a butterfly farm nearby, as well, but we did not visit it.

Basic campground with some seasonal sites. It looks like most short term sites are in an open grassy area with no size impediments. Other sites backed into tree line and had satellite dishes on poles (assuming seasonal). 20/30/50A at the pedestal and water, but no sewer. Site I was in needed nothing to be level. WiFi worked very well at our site but with occupancy I can't say what throughput might be like in the summer. Came late in the season and these were the only folks still open. Called in morning to check on availability, both call taker and lady who checked us in were very pleasant and friendly. We camped at White Birch Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is well off the main road and considerably back from the paved country road, very quiet location.

The new owners have been here for a year and are working hard on making the campground better. They are very friendly folks and hope to offer a much nicer stay for everyone in the future. We were happy to get 50 amps and a clear sky for our DirecTV satellite dish, and the rates are reasonable for this area. The only downside for us is the lack of sewer. However, there's a dump station and pump-outs are available. We camped at White Birch Campground in a Motorhome.

Gross. That is all I have to say. The staff was unfriendly and mean. They do not like people. I was embarrassed in front of my husband and kids that I had chosen this campground. I wanted to leave and stay in a hotel very badly, but we stuck it out. I would have left and went home but we had a family reunion in the near area on Sunday and we had traveled about two hours to get to this blank hole. The campground is the pits and the area is beyond boring. Don't waste your money by staying in this campground. You'd be better of camping in your back yard. We camped at White Birch Campground in a Truck Camper.

This the third year in a row that I've camped here while in transit to Cape Cod. I used to live near here and always stop to visit with friends. It could be an amazing campground since it has both wooded and open sites. It's close to the original Yankee Candle Factory and the hip town of Northampton. Also nearby are five different colleges: University of Massachusetts, Mt. Holyoke, Hampshire, Smith and Amherst College. It's also a short trip up the Mohawk Trail to the quaint village of Shelburne Falls. The downside of this campground is that they continue to allow it to fall in disrepair. The office/campstore is dingy and dirty. The bathrooms are horrible and worst of all the dumpstation continually backed up while we tried to dump the rig. The staff wasn't helpful at all and weren't too concerned with these issues. You'll also need to bring insect repellent, this area is prime bug habitat. The new owners have done little to improve this diamond in the rough. We camped at White Birch Campground in a Motorhome.
