What a gem of a campground. This campground celebrates its 125 anniversary next year! This is a Church of God campground that was opened to the public about 25 years ago. The church uses this campground for two weeks in August. Pretty sure low usage after that. There are two sections to this campground. The area north of the office is 30 amp FHUs with lots of shade. The area south of the office is 50 amp, water only and no shade. This was just a one night stay for us. We didn't need a water connection, but needed 50 amp and good satellite reception. We needed satellite to monitor our property in the path of hurricane Irma. We had the area south of the office all to ourselves. These are back-in sites, but when low usage they can be used as pull troughs. Campground is about 1.5 miles east of St. Louis and is very quiet. Not much to do here, but very good for an overnighter. The person that checked us in was very friendly and helpful. If you have a dog with you, you need to provide their shot records when registering. The campground is well maintained, grass mowed and very neat. There appears to be a few seasonals in the 30 amp area. But all RV were in good condition and no trash in the area. Verizon Cell was good and Verizon data was 4.31 Mbps download, 1.50 Mbps upload and 42 ms ping. Good enough to upload pictures here. There is a 'Camp Store' but was closed when we were here. The bath house and restrooms are undergoing an extensive renovation and were closed. Not a problem since we rarely use the campground restrooms. Hard to beat $12 a night for a place to park. We will return here when in the area again. - Rufas
Aug 2016 - $12.00
You have a choice of shaded or open sites. I believe the 50A sites are all out in the open. I chose a 30A site where I could get my portable dish locked on and still be in the shade most all day. The water hookups were more like a fairgrounds with 1 hookup serving maybe 5 or 6 rev's. A dump station is also available.
Other than a church camp the first 2 weeks in August, I don't think this c/g gets much use. It really is a nice place to stay but not much to do in the area. Some road noise early in the morning. - mrracechaser
Aug 2015 - $10.00
Nice park what a jewel and the family who run it are great people very friendly.
We were blessed finding this CG. Our rally was being held at another campground and they started having electrical problems so one of our group did a search on this site and called to see if they had opening for our rally of 15 5th wheels. Great big lots big rig accessible.
The cost is $20 a night Passport America discount $10 a night for the whole week. Every one liked it so much we reserved spots for next year. - JustDon
Sep 2012 - $25.00
This is a great little park. We were northbound on Michigan 127 looking for a place to stay and found it in the directory. (There aren't many RV parks around there.) The campground is right on a small lake, with a swimming beach and clear water. Our site was only about 50 feet from the beach! Also a nice and well kept playground. The resident manager could not have been friendlier. Quite a few seasonal occupants, but there were plenty of sites available. Restrooms and showers aren't fancy, but clean and well equipped. We only stayed one night, but with the beach and playground it would be a relaxing place to spend a few days. - John45
Aug 2008 - $26.00
This is a nice park with activities for the whole family. Many seasonal trailers here. Most of the people were friendly. The park owners were extremely friendly. Being a gay couple we don't always experience friendliness, but we would definitely camp here again. No cable tv, but we were able to get three local stations with rabbit ears. - shadowgwm
Oct 2007 - $28.00
We stayed here twice this year, both times in mid October. The hosts were outstanding. The showers were extremely hot. Plenty of things for the kids to do. Have a water trampoline with a beautful lake that has canoe and paddle boat rentals at the campground. Area state land near by for excellent hunting or hiking. - inkd4life
Jul 2012 - $18.00
We love this little campground. It is a hidden gem in Mt Pleasant. It is beautiful with its tall trees and city park right next to it. A great place to relax and go to the Soaring Eagle Casino. You can take the shuttle or just drive 3 miles to it. - Gypsies11
Jul 2011 - $17.00
A little rustic, but this park offers large shaded 50 amp pull through sites in a beautiful wooded setting. In spite of all the tall trees, we had no problem getting satellite service. Posted price was $18 per night but the guy in the office must have thought I deserved a senior discount because he only charged us $17. I've stayed at campgrounds that weren't nearly as nice and charged over twice as much. - Same Old Bob
Jun 2011 - $17.00
This is one of the worst campgrounds I have ever been to. The restrooms and showers were not serviced except for adding toilet paper when needed. We couldn't even use the showers they were so filthy. The sites were OK but nothing special. There are no activities for families except for the pool. The administrative staff is not helpful at all and act like they have no clue. We will not be camping here again. - zippywafflehead
Jul 2016 - $38.00
A fun, family oriented park. I noticed some litter around here and there. Not horrible, but there. Great swimming pond, pool, and river. Lots of activity, and fun for everyone. Sites are tight. Probably set up years ago when everyone had small campers. I wasn't the only one squeezing my camper into our site. Free WIFI worked good for us. I like this park and will stay here again. But you have to talk to someone and make sure the site you get will accommodate you. I had 2 trees on my site that prevented me from parking my Truck there. Things are kinda tight. - Greaseman93
Jul 2014 - $38.00
This is a beautiful campground, we were in the front section which is very peaceful with large patio sites. The main campground sites back on to the river and surround the pond, these sites are quite tightly spaced and are busy. The main campground appears to be quite busy. They have a large wet slide in the pond, they also have tubing and kayak rentals.Make sure you stock up as there are no stores close by. - acadiandave
Jul 2013 - $38.00
Let's start with the good. We were in the very front section of the park so this review pertains to that part only. Nicely landscaped park with a lot of shade trees. Paved roads, gravel sites, huge concrete patios in the pull-through section in the front of the park. Water and power both good. No cable, no Wi-Fi. Now the strange stuff. No escort to site. The office is located towards the center of the park, past some sites and the propane station. So, if you need propane, you need to either unhook and back up the hill or drive through the entire park to get back to the station. Then your propane fill valve is on the wrong side. Or to get back up to the front section, these actions are also required. A minor pain but I feel you need to know. Not sure we would stay here again, at least for an overnight. - axtoncampers
May 2014 - $29.00
This is a very nice campground and quiet when the hours say to be. They allow you to have campfires at your site, too. It's mostly in the woods, but the trees are trimmed so that you don't hit them with a tall RV. There are a lot of permanent residents there and they are all nice folks. - CMcgirr
Jun 2017 - $40.00
This park was fairly new. New concrete pads, updated electrical hoop-ups and new trees. It was a beautiful park and lots of things to do for the kids as it was close to a small beach with lots of equipment to use in the water. There was also a shuttle every fifteen minutes to the casino. It was by a small airport, but there was no noise that we noticed. - Marilynintexas
Aug 2016 - $62.00
Big rig friendly, long sites but not very wide. Small Campground. - KCook3
Jul 2016 - $63.00
Nice clean park, very costly for 30 amp service only and no cable. Be careful when they say it's a pull through and direct you the wrong way and you have to unhook your vehicle to park. - Tom Wall
Aug 2016 - $15.00
Nice fairgrounds park, mainly level sites. No problem with the power but never more than 7 units here the whole week. Available dump station.
Stores within a few miles. There is a casino nearby. Some road noise but not bad.
Flea market on Wednesday morning but not many vendors. - mrracechaser
Jun 2016 - $15.00
Isabella County Fairgrounds offers water and electric sites, first come first serve, except during the fair. Pick up an envelope from the board at the entrance and put it in the mail slot in building J. This building, by the way, is at the other end of the fairgrounds. So if you aren't up for a bit of a hike, consider paying before you get settled. It's an honor system, and they accept Passport America. Most of the sites have 30amp service. There are about 8 sites on the back row that have 50 amp service. All sites are mostly level on grass which is well mowed, at least when we were there. Interior roads are gravel. There is one site 59, which we fortunately snagged, with partial shade. The rest of the sites are out in the open. Easy access getting in and out. The only ding is the road noise as the campground is situated at the corner of two very busy roads. A sign indicates that there is a flea market every Wednesday May-Sept, for those who are interested in that sort of thing. We camped here in a motorhome. There were only two other RVs in the campground. There is a dump. - Free
Jun 2015 - $15.00
Very nice large site with water & electric (30 amp). Sites were grass & newly cut. The staff was very nice & helpful. we would definitely stay here again. - bonniesoo
Jun 2017 - $32.00
Mostly seasonal campers. Way off the beaten path - we drove down a lonely dirt road to get there. Difficult to find a level spot to park MH, but electric was good and water pressure excellent. Our site was downwind of the pit toilets (encased in a building, but still quite stinky). Good place to walk or ride a bike. Well-maintained lawns and sites. A lot of friendly ducks. River access if you are so inclined. - Forest Woods
May 2015 - $32.00
We've stayed here in our trailer & now in our 5th wheel. These folks are friendly & accommodating. The community is also very family friendly.
The riverside sites can not be beat.
We book many of our Holiday Weekends here. - jbgrace
Jul 2011 - $28.00
Very clean, grassy, peaceful, quiet & well maintained. They even spray nightly for mosquitoes. Lots of seasonals at this park, and all that we talked to were very friendly. Not a lot of frills here, but if you like good old backwoods camping like we do, then this is it! Currently there are no showers, but we see the construction happening to build what appears to be a nice large shower facility. Check-in was fast and easy. The fire pits are all positioned on riverside, with plenty of distance from RV. We will definitely come back soon. - 2gaycampers
