6 RV Parks near Baraga, Michigan
Aug 2018 - $20.00
The site was level and grass. Most of the sites in the park were under water due to heavy rains. We stay only one night. - Dennis D
Aug 2016 - $19.00
Clean, clean, nice grassy site with shade. Good 30 Electric. Right on Hwy41, so, yes busy traffic, but easy to get to. Would try to get an inside site. Traffic less at night. Did not see or hear a train. Wi-Fi mostly OK. - USA16RVer
Jul 2010 - $25.00
Easy access next to US41. Some noise from the highway and railroad line immediately behind the park, but it didn't bother us. Interior roads are paved. Sites are grass. Some sites very shady, but the site we stayed on had a few trees. Sat TV was no problem at our site and Verizon Wireless had full bars service. About half of the RV sites have 30 amp electric. You may need an extension cord to reach the pedestal. Water is available at only a few places in the park. Good central sewer dump location. Keweenaw Peninsula is beautiful. Nearby casino with RV park. - eaglessoc
Jul 2018 - $25.00
Nothing special, but good price and easy place to stay. Close to other spots but not too close. Good for over night or a couple of days. If staying longer stay at the Tribes campground on the lake about 2 miles away. Same pricing but also found it muddy after recent rains. - Johnny xxxxx
Aug 2016 - $20.00
Great place to stop for an overnight or short stay. The 12 campsites are located along the edge of the casino parking lot. All are paved, back-in sites with a picnic table and grass in between, water, sewer, 30 amp power, good wifi, and a trash can. We also got a coupon for a free drink and $5 casino money everyday. There is enough green space around the property to walk a dog. The bathrooms inside the casino are very nice and there is also a bowling alley, indoor pool that campers can use, and a restaurant. The area seemed safe as it is well lit, patrolled by security, and only a short distance from the casino. We would definitely stay here again. - JoyceM
Aug 2016 - $20.00
Paved, level back-in sites with good grass spacing, picnic table, full hookups, all for $20 night - and you get $5 in free play and a drink coupon each day. Join the player's club and get another $10 in free play. No cable or OTA TV, but no restrictions to satellite. The hotel WiFi worked well in site 10 most of the time, and Verizon cell/data worked well. Friendly casino staff and decent restaurant. The only drawback to staying here is that there's not much in the area, otherwise a great stay. - Meanderman

Considering Michigan has a leash law it obviously is not enforced here. We are leaving today because there seems to be an incident daily because dogs are free to roam and harass other leashed dogs. We almost had a fight again as a dog rushed into our site and charged our dogs that were both leashed. Staff is completely unresponsive to complaints. I say that because they are pretty much non existent. Never will we stay here again!! It's really a shame because it is a beautiful place! - JohnJackie
Jul 2017 - $25.00
This park is off the road with sites along Lake Superior. Very quiet. Sites are grass with a shared electrical outlet box at most sites (two campers plug into one outlet pole). There is sand-bottom swimming near the lighthouse. - Timeking
Sep 2015 - $20.00
Excellent views of the bay at Sand Point just on the North side of Baraga, MI at the lighthouse. All sites have 30 amp service but no water or sewer hookups. Dump station is available. Sites along the waterfront are $20/night and the inland sites (still a lakeview but across the road) are $15. Everything is first come first served. All sites are grass with a fire pit and picnic table. Roughly 2/3 of the sites are waterfront. There are very few trees except for a small grove of pines near the center of the waterfront sites. All roads are smooth and paved.
This seems to be a local secret since the state park nearby was quite busy but this gem of campground was nearly empty. When you enter, turn towards the marina to pay the manager. There is a house and a garage with a drop box for the registration papers, otherwise the manager will come to your site for payment.
There is a boat ramp and excellent spots at the lakefront sites to launch a kayak. Fishing is excellent around the marina plus there is a small pond near the rear of the campground. There is free Wi-Fi all around the park. Wi-Fi antennas are visible at several points. We got 2 Mb download speed but very few other campers in the park.
The website is old and outdated. There are many pieces of information that are not accurate as of 2015. The website says rates are $8 per night but it's $20. There are discounts for tribal members. Weekly rates are $100 per week on the waterfront and $65 for inland. - Craig H
Aug 2018 - $20.00
We camped on lot 4...which was perfect for us. It is a corner lot, large and has a great view of the bay. We originally were scheduled to go in lot 11, but it looked pretty short (we have a 40 ft. 5th wheel) and luckily the camp host recognized it was going to be a tight fit and the folks had just left the larger site. The park has a gazebo and dock on the water down below the park and it was a very relaxing place to be at the end of the day. Water and sewer are right before you enter into the campground and our site had electricity. We passed up the driveway as our GPS said we still had about .7 of a mile left. We were able to turn around at Skanee and Whirl-a-Gig. Nice location to visit L'anse, Baraga and Houghton. - locatjl
Jul 2018 - $20.00
20 sites. Very peaceful and quiet. Host was very friendly and helpful. Cash or check only. Very nice view of the lake. Sites are slight slope, but not unmanageable. Road in is a curvey downhill in trees one lane, so hope you don't meet anyone going out. - SuperRep
Aug 2012 - $18.00
A steep, narrow entry road affords access to this quiet, well-groomed and scenic public park. Sites are grass and many are on a slope. There is no water or sewer hookup, the reliable electric is a long stretch at many sites and the park’s Wi-Fi was good most of the time. AT&T phone and data signals were good. In addition to pit toilets there is a shower house with flush toilets. The one shower stall per gender is kept locked with keys issued to campers but not the general public; all facilities were clean. We would be happy to stay here again. - never settled
Jul 2015 - $22.00
We stayed here for one night. Got a lakeside site with electric. It was wide, grassy, with table and fire ring. Lots of families and kids. Quiet at night. A bit of traffic noise. Would stay here again. - Wyboo
Aug 2005 - $19.00
Very nice and clean. Nothing like the last review. The locals were friendly and helpful. There is a resort next door were the kids rented a row boat for only $20.00 for all day. I would come back. - jmc
Aug 2018 - $40.00
This is a wonderful little RV Park right on the Portage waterway. All of the sites have views of the waterway. Unfortunately, all of the sites are back ins. You can pull in and connect to water, electric and sewer if you have extended cables and hoses. The town is an easy bike ride along the waterway. Houghton is the home of Michigan Technical University. We were quite impressed. The Campground hosts/managers are extremely friendly and helpful. They are natives of Houghton. - RPFawcett
Sep 2017 - $40.00
Full hook ups on the river. Nice site. Restrooms are shared with nearby park. Not the best set up. No showers. No dogs allowed in the park nearby, kind of inconvenient. Tight getting into and out of the spot with my motorhome, but doable. - donpeterson
Aug 2017 - $40.00
What a pleasant surprise. Not like any City park we've ever been to. The entrance is off the highway and just down a hill. Small sign so be on the lookout. You cross a narrow bridge and past some playground tube slides to get to the RV park. There is ample room to park your RV and register. The roads are paved and a bit narow but really no problem. The host is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The RV park sits right on the portage canal with views of Hancock across the water and the lift bridge. Some sites are more level than others, and the upper row appears to have more satellite reception challenges. All sites are asphalt, with grass and a covered deck in the rear with picnic table and bench. Each site has a big fire pit. Some of the sites in the upper row, 1-12, have more landscaping separation. All sites are back in. The sites are carved out on the front end to park your toad. Our site was level and right on the water. The utilities and cable were good. Strong cell signal. WiFi was mostly good to very good. There are toilets you can use at the recreation park a short walk away. The City park stretches along the canal past the lift bridge and makes for a very nice walk, about a mile and a half round trip. You can wash your car for $5 and your RV for $10. - VegasVagabonds
