First time at this resort. Previously stayed at Hearthside. However, I like this location better. Was an ownership resort at one time and now all rentals from class A's to Class C's and TT's. Everything is very well maintained. Strong internet. Did have to relocate to another site for satellite access. If important may want to check out on arrival. Best to unhook tow at entry. No planned resort activities. Will definitely return. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

Petoskey Motor Coach Resort is a first class destination. The grounds are immaculate, the concrete pads are level and wide. The space between coaches is excellent and the clubhouse is fabulous. Look forward to visiting it again. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

We stayed here three nights and loved this resort! The staff was very helpful and accessible. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. It is very close to all of the sights to see in nearby cities. The showers and laundry were immaculate. It is gated and a very safe and beautiful place to stay. At the sites, there is enough space to park your vehicle and your MH. They do make you disconnect your towed at the entrance. We would definitely stay here again! Tips for other Campers:

Petoskey itself is full of shops and very scenic places along the water. Also Petoskey State Park, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Tunnel of Trees are very easy short drives from this resort.

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Good parts: Beautiful, tree-filled grounds. Impressive clubhouse with soaring wood ceiling and inviting fireplaces. Clean, luxurious bathrooms with saunas. Fairly complete gym with 2 treadmills and circuit training equipment. Small, cold pool and small but heated jacuzzi. Putting course. Tennis court. Card rooms and theatre. Planned activities. Spacious paved pads and roads. Well-placed hook ups. No tables or fire rings. Small laundry room with two efficient washers and dryers, a folding table, plus an iron and ironing board. 1.50 to wash and to dry. Internet was excellent although it did go out for several hours twice in a month. Verizon works well, however.

Bad parts: Most sites have road noise. We had the northern exposure because of the spring special, so our site backed up to US 31. Noise was noticeable but not horrible. There's a line of trees separating sites from the road. For those bothered by constant road noise, this could be a problem. All sites in the park have some noise.

Cable TV is another story. Only 30 analog channels and poor reception on most of them. Not a good offering of channels either. Front desk girls are lost about fixing the reception problem. I was basically told that there was nothing that could be done since they didn't want to call a tech to the site. She offered to move me, but I declined saying that unhooking and hooking up a motorhome is too much work. I'm guessing that problem will never be addressed and the next person to have my site will have the same problem. Satellites might have a problem with so many trees.

Despite the road noise and the marginal cable, I'd come back. I only mention these issues so others can be aware.

I'm guessing the resort is feeling its way about increasing rentals. It's not a motorhome only park anymore and they're no longer selling lots. This is the third owner and only 3 lots have sold since 2009. I hope this owner, Sunland, can make it work since the resort is so beautiful. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Petoskey and the surrounding areas offer so much. I especially liked that many areas on Traverse Bay were accessible via parks and scenic overlooks. Long bike path that runs along the water.Take the Pointer Cruise in Harbor Springs. Easy drive to ferries to Mackinac Island.

Have been camping since 1997, this was the nicest campground I ever stayed at. Lots of amenities with no extra charges (fantastic club house, pool, fitness room, billiards room, putting green). Primarily retirees but everyone friendly. Don't pay extra for the better lots, they are all about the same in my mind. A little more road noise in the lowest cost lots. Very nice resort. Beautiful clubhouse...top tier in my opinion. The resort is spotlessly maintained. I can't say it's the best overall resort I've been to, but it isn't far behind my #1. Good sized pads, and good space between sites. Much potential here. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful resort. Park like setting with motorhomes only. Many sites are drive in sites so you are are looking at grass, trees and water. This is a park where you can buy in to have a permanent site. There are no picnic tables and no fire rings. The clubhouse has activities nearly every night. It is beautiful inside, with fitness center, pool table, card rooms, big sitting room, and outdoor patio near the swimming pool. It has a 9 hole grass putting course as well.

Definite must on our list for next year as well. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

Our original reservation was only for 2 nights but after we arrived and saw the park we increased it to 5. Beautiful, relaxing park and grounds. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Location was also very convenient to seeing the area. Would be back in a heartbeat if ever in the area again. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Petoskey has many choices of activities from a Farmers Market to beaches to watching sunsets. You do have to leave the RV park to get to everything unless you ride a bicycle. The park is near a beautiful paved bike trail . We enjoyed Castle Farms tour in Charlevoix. We drove the Tunnel of Trees along Lake Michigan north for 20 miles. A sunset cruise out of Charlevoix was wonderful.

Beautiful clean RV resort. We were unable to get satellite and the cable was just ok. They have a few sites that you might be able to receive satellite. Double concert pad, .....no picnic tables. Overall, this is a very nice RV Resort. All sites have double wide concrete pads and are nicely landscaped. All sites have 50 amp full hookups, with WiFi and cable. The cable was upgraded just after we arrived and carries appx. 30 basic cable stations. The sites are either back in sites, or pull in sites. They have a large clubhouse with an exercise room, pool room, sitting area, book swap, card room, etc. TV via bat wing was fair, Verizon cell and broadband both very good. One of the few draw backs is the laundry room, only 2 washers and 2 dryers. They do not allow any type of cloths lines here. Our rate based on an early season monthly special on the north sites only. These sites back up to a busy US-31 and at times it seemed that the traffic was inside the park. The monthly special needed to be completed by June 20th, so we had some real cold days during our stay. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Barrel Back restaurant in nearby Walloon Lake Village had one of the better happy hours when we first arrived. However they stop it during the summer. The Noggin Room in the Perry Hotel keeps there Happy Hour.

This is a top notch resort, one of the nicest you will see. Everything is gorgeous, the landscaping, pool, clubhouse, office, etc. There is a great bike trail that will take you into town. The staff was exceptional as well. They are trying to sell the sites but there is no pressure. The only downside was they did not have a table or fire ring on the site. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park, and while a few miles out of town, it is right across the street from a bike trail. It is a very easy ride into Petoskey. The park is lovely, the sites are Huge, the roads are very wide. This place is perfect for big rigs. The only problem is a temporary one (I hope) ...they don't have cable service this year, and many of the sites have trees that block or inhibit satellite signal. The staff are wonderful, though, and allowed us to move several times until we found a site that worked for us. Very, very nice folks and very accommodating. We would definitely stay here again! The rate we paid was a promotional rate. We camped at Petoskey Motorcoach Resort (formerly Petoskey RV Resort ) in a Motorhome.

Park is now called Petoskey RV Resort. Beautiful park, easy access for big rigs, large concrete pads with beautifully maintained lawns. Staff was extremely friendly, park is also pet friendly. Stayed for 3 nights at a special rate of $49.00/night. Park accepts class A, class C and 5th wheels no older than 10 years of age. Will definitely stay again when in the Petoskey area.
