Grounds fairly clean and all utilities worked well. This time of year there are lots of sites available here and it is not crowded so maneuvering the park was fairly easy. We have a 42 foot fifth wheel (about 20K lbs) and had a problem with the site we were assigned. Our site had a hole filled with water and mud fairly close to where we had to park to reach the utilities. The person checking us in seemed fairly friendly at first and escorted us to our site. When the water/mud issue was pointed out to her, all went downhill from there. We asked more than once to just please move us to another site and she refused. She seemed concerned with other sites already being assigned but would not simple go to the office and check so that we could take one of the sites without this problem. In looking around the grounds, it appears we were assigned the only site with standing/puddled water. With our size and weight coupled with the maneuverability of a fifth wheel, backing into the site was a bit difficult but was made much more so because she insisted on staying until we were in the site to her satisfaction (she kept wanting us to back across the site next to us instead of just backing into our site). We have been pretty much full time in a fifth wheel for over 10 years and do know how to back into sites. In order to level our rig, we had to put boards in the mud hole to make a stable surface for our 6 point leveling system. This was not our first time here and there are much better sites and many of them remained unoccupied during this stay. Mary said she was a volunteer here and was training another lady who will be a paid employee. The price you pay to stay here definitely should support employees and competent work campers who can maintain a more customer oriented and friendly attitude. We will definitely stay here again and hope that our next visit will be a better experience. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a fairgrounds with a campground included on the grounds. It is very open and sunny. The sites are grass, mostly back-in with a few pull-throughs. There has been a lot of rain in the area, and some sites were still quite soft when we arrived. The staff in the office were helpful and professional; most concerned about getting us into a site that our diesel pusher would have a solid surface. Full hook-ups. No playground but lots of paved and gravel interior roads and grassy space for kids to run, play and ride bikes. Campers everything from pickup shells to 45 foot buses. Very close to a number of fast food and sit down restaurants, plus a gate/sidewalk out the back to walk to the Walmart. Picnic tables and fire rings provided. Very nice stay. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Convenient location for seeing the Detroit area. Easy access to the camp ground. Check in was easy and efficient. Pull thru sites are about 50 feet long. Electric, water and sewer were located together mid way on the driver's side. Good water pressure. Only one washer and dryer both in constant use when I checked. Bath house (did not use) is older but appeared clean. Interior roads are gravel. Could be muddy in wet weather with grass/dirt parking. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

The Henry Ford complex while a bit pricy is worth the time. To really see it, plan on a couple days and buy a combination package which saves a few bucks.

This is a great location relatively close to Dearborn/Detroit. In under 30 minutes you can reach the Henry Ford Museum, Comerica Park (Tigers baseball) and downtown Detroit. It's just off the I-94 but far enough away that there isn't annoying road noise (maybe a faint hum during rush hour). The office staff is exceptional - truly exceptional. They are super friendly and totally competent. From making reservations (including our requesting a date change after initial booking) to the check-in process to receiving packages for us (they even delivered packages to our site) to checking on us periodically (if we were outside when they drove by), we couldn't have felt more welcome. Verizon cell and Sprint Mifi worked well. CG wifi worked well sometimes and not-so-well other times (typical for an rv park). There were no trees so we had easy access to DirecTV signal. We always felt safe. The local neighborhood is very pleasant. The big negative is that the sites are very close together. The sites are front to front and back to back so your front door isn't looking at your neighbor's sewer connection. However, your "front yard" is pretty close and kinda shared with your neighbor's "front yard". Our neighbors were very nice. The proximity wasn't a problem for us but some folks might not like it. We would absolutely stay here again when visiting the Detroit area. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village are very interesting and enjoyable for kids and adults. Wear comfortable shoes! Greenfield is an outdoor venue so be prepared with sunscreen and hat and drink lots of water. We had our motorhome serviced at General RV in Wixom, MI, (about 30 miles away) and were extremely pleased. Book your appointment well in advance if possible.

There is a lovely community park about half mile down Quirk Road with huge, grassy fields, playground and pavilion. There is easy access to a Walmart (it backs to the fairground property line), various restaurants and a Camping World.

Price reflects Good Sam discount for a 50 amp full hookup back-in site. Park has gravel roads and grass sites and is convenient to shopping, restaurants and the interstate. Good Verizon signal and satellite friendly. Would stay again. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is conveniently located to explore the Detroit and Dearborn area. It is easy on and off from the interstate. The sites are grassy areas separated by the hookups, which were easy to locate. We had no problems leveling our coach or connecting to the utilities. Everything worked well, except for the WiFi. We checked in on Friday and was told they were working on the WiFi. On Monday, when we checked, we were told that parts of the park had WiFi, but our site was not one of them. We ended up having to use our hotspot then entire time we were there. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Location, Location, Location. This place is probably the closest cg to Detroit and the Western suburbs. All sites are grassy and level. The pull thru sites are electric, water and sewer in the middle of the sites. The back-in sites have electric, water and sewer n the rear of the sites. In our row, back-in sites (site 55) the lot size was 25' x 75' with FHU in the rear. Good Detroit water. Good power. OTA TV has all the local channels. No trees so good for satellite. CG is expanding with another row of back-in sites.

CG is pretty quiet. Although a fair grounds, there is Walmart on one border and houses on the other three borders. Most of those staying were visiting local friends, family or visiting Detroit area.

As some have previously stated, this is not a destination cg. No pool or playground. Great for a rally as they have buildings available to use. Check you dates as they host many events here.

We stayed in a motorhome and would return if in the area. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a fine place to stay if you are visiting the Detroit area. It is in a suburban area right off I-94. The Walmart is right behind the fairgrounds, very convenient! The sites are absolutely level, grass, large, open and sunny. The wifi worked fine the day we checked in, but then went down for the duration of our stay. Hookups were good. The office closes now and then while the staff takes breaks, goes to lunch, etc. Laundry uses cards instead of quarters - a plus! We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three nights to see the museums, and would stay there again. 30 amps was enough to get by and staying in the area closest to the fence bordering Walmart, gave us great free Walmart WiFi. Great connection however the campground WiFI was not working and they gave us the usual line: "Its been acting up a couple days." That seems to be the standard excuse in Michigan. To be honest WiFi can be expensive for place like this, so I understand. The price, plus walking distance to Walmart or restaurants makes this a good value. Pull thrus, easy to navigate with big rigs and towing. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Highway 12, Michigan Ave is the easy route if your not into interstates or riding motorcycles, that is if you are driving the the Henry Ford and such. The lights are synced and it flows better than any inter city street I've seen.

This is a fair campground with level, grassy sites. The hook-ups were easy and we had a picnic table at our site. This is not a destination park, there is no pool, no clubhouse, no golf course. However, it is close to grocery shopping and restaurants.and is the closest campground to visit the Ford Museum.
There was a community garden with vegetables ripening. We picked a cabbage and some beans. Our neighbors went for the tomatoes.
We're not used to walking around a campground and watching the elephants walk around, aerial artists practicing their routines and bareback horseback riders. But, the circus had a bit of time off before its next destination and were waiting here. Easy to get here and easy to get on your way. We would definitely stay here again. This a huge campground but they put us way in the back in the smallest sites here and then proceeded to completely surround us with the carnival people/vehicles. They were literally on top of us and they sawed, welded, and used a grinder every day working on their trailer. Again, 98% of the campground was empty. It was like parking in a machine shop. I finally went in and asked why they would place us all together and was told that we didn't ask for full h/u. I pointed out that they could certainly have told us what was parking out here and given us the option to move but it was like talking to the wall. If they want to make sure that their guests never come back, they are definitely succeeding! If you have to camp here, don't give them your credit card until you check out your site first. We won't be back...... We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites were grassy and level. Good water pressure and somewhat close to your next door camper.

The ladies who run the park are very friendly and helpful. They do sell ice and propane at the office.

The RV park is very close to Walmart, Meijer and a Camping World store as well as many restaurants.

It's also close to The Henry Ford and downtown Detroit and the casinos.

We enjoyed our stay here and will come back again. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We didn't stay here - we used it as a storage for our fifth wheel for two weeks, using the 20A electric to keep our 'fridge cold and save our food. Big, open sites without trees. No sewer. Sites are grass on clay, and we pulled in shortly after a rain. Our trailer left ruts four inches deep and quickly got us stuck. We had to be pulled into place with a large farm tractor they keep there, and we had to be pulled out. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

New owner exceptionally accommodating. Grassy Sites large, spacious. Plenty of room. Great, Easy to get to location, with Walmart right next door. Closest campground to Henry Ford museum and Greenfield, straight down freeway, no hassles. Hookups in back, so may need extra long hoses. We did not have a problem. Do go to the Henry Ford in Dearborn and take the Rouge Ford Factory Tour. Also, the Greenfield Village there as well as Henry Ford museum. Will need more than one day to take it all in. It's a straight easy drive on freeways. Also, within 15 miles south is Lake Erie if you are interested in seeing one of the Great Lakes.
