As others have said, this is a no-frills park within the county fairgrounds property. The sites are grass with many pull-throughs. We were in the "back" row, farthest from the entrance because we chose not to spend the extra $5/day for sewer since it was a short stay. The e/w only sites were fairly close with 1 picnic table and fire ring per 2 sites. The camping area was fairly full but quiet. The grounds are fenced in so felt protected. The staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are gravel. Park is easy access off I-94 with many restaurants, stores (Walmart, Meijers, Aldi, Menards) very close. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a great location for visiting the Henry Ford museum/Greenfield Village complex. Easy drive from the park and away from the traffic of Detroit. I recommend allowing a few days to see the museum. There is an "all access" ticket which includes the museum, museum tour Greenfield Village, Factory tour and a movie. We did the museum and tour one day, factory tour and movie second day and Greenfield Village the 3rd day.

We were looking for a park we could use as a base to see the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village (about 20 miles/30 minutes each way). Easy access from the highway. Sites are really close together, so glad we didn't have immediately adjacent neighbors. Good power, good water pressure, good OTA TV, really good WiFi. Bathrooms are really dated. They see a lot of use during fair season, I imagine - so clean, but really worn. Walmart literally next door - there is a fence between, but a paved, lit path connects them. Good dump station on site. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Community let we down again, this is not a 7. Large open grass area with sites. Bathrooms are old. Water tastes terrible. Voltage below 120 on surge protector. Must too expensive for what it is. OK for a 1 or 2 night stay. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We echo the other comments from 2018.... this is a no frills great place to stay while touring the area. All utilities and wifi worked flawlessly. The fairgrounds is fenced and has restricted access, so we felt very safe here. The Ford Museum of American Innovation is an absolute bucket list must do, and this is the closest park, about 20 miles away. Where else can you see the very first 1964 Ford Mustang ever produced? As part of your museum ticket price, you can opt to see the Ford F150 Truck assembly plant (Rouge Plant name after the Rouge River nearby) They produce a new F150 pickup truck every 57 seconds!! Unbelievable! This plant produced WWII vehicles as well. Overall, this was a nice park practical park, and we would definetly return. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

See the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation. Sign up and take the guided tour. They give you Bluetooth headsets, and when your tourguide makes various presentations, you can hear every single word clearly no matter where you're standing. Thomas Edison attended the opening of this awesome museum! They have a film of him making the dedication! You will see many of the historical artifacts. After that, take the F150 truck assembly plant tour! They produce a new truck every 57 seconds!

Great Fairgounds Camp. You are close together here but the sites are quite long and easily accommodate any rig and tow vehicle. Power was good 114V to 120V, water pressure was fine at about 50lb, sewer was at each site. Other campers are friendly. No full timers, but some staying weeks at a time. Good place to stay to see surrounding areas including Detroit, and Ann Arbor. Lots of museums, parks, and other activities close by. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ok sites. Wide gravel streets. Short-ish pull through, had to drop the car before entering the site. Sites are "jack and jill" layout, sharing utility post. No shade at all. Sites are grass. Some sites are still muddy from recent rain. Very quiet when nothing is going on at the fairgrounds, but some freeway noise from i94. Expansive dog walking. The showers were clean, but so small and dated to be unusable. Good place; we'd gladly stay again. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Trader Joe's and lots of other shopping in Ann Arbor, about 20 minutes away. Henry Ford Museum and factory tour was very interesting. Do the tour in the AM as it gets really crowded later. Avoid eating at Larry's Diner inside the museum: lousy food and poor service. There are two other restuarants that looked much better.

This is a no-frills park that works very well for folks looking to tour the Gerald Ford Presidential Library and Henry Ford venues. The park is an open field with assigned and marked grassy spots most of which are fhu. There are no trees except around the perimeter and the tent section. Roads are very dusty but otherwise it is clean and safe. All of Henry Ford activities are only about 20 minutes away so many folks transit for this reason. WiFi worked well and the 50 amp service was great considering the temps outside were pushing 100 with higher heat indexes. All 3 of our ACs and other appliances worked well without interruption. Fire rings are available though we had to ask for ours. Showed up quickly but we ended up not using it due to the heat. Management is extremely friendly and helpful. Reservation, check-in, and other services were always easy, quick, and pleasant. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Plan on at least 2 days for the Henry Ford Museum of Innovation, Greenfield Village, and the Factory Tour. We took 3 days and needed every minute of it. It is not just about Ford cars or even just cars. Thomas Edison, Robert Frost, ERA, Civil Rights, furniture, glass, etc. Gerald Ford Pres Library located in Ann Arbor is free and only 1 floor. Some artifacts, some Rosalyn Carter artifacts and a reasonable film is shown. Takes about 1 hour.

The customer service here is excellent. We were initially put in a pull-thru with hook-ups in between the units, so one faces one direction and the other the opposite. The only problem is that the sewers are next to each other, so ours was at the front of our unit. A young lady came by with a golf cart, recognized the (common) problem and immediately moved us into a nearby back-in - even offered to help us with the tow dolly. They are currently updating the electric due to power outages (should be done within a day or two). Nice grassy sights - ours was very nice because there was nobody next to us. The restrooms are in serious need of updates (gave them a 5 of 10), but clean. We don't use the wi-fi. This is safe and quiet and near everything - you can even cut through the back gate to get to Walmart. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Detroit Riverwalk is very nice - for walking or biking - great views of the Renaissance Center and Windsor, Canada. Bike or walk over the freeway overpass and go into Belleville - a cute little town nestled btw two halves of a nice lake. Also, Ypsilanda and Ann Arbor are really nice - cute historic districts in each. The Border to Border bike trail btw the two is very nice!

Big fairgrounds with the RV camping at one end. Pros: friendly staff, almost all pull-thru sites that are plenty long, level grass sites, tons of room for dog-walking, very satellite friendly as all the trees are on the perimeter of the park, no pool or other resort amenities (we don't care). Cons: sites are not tight but closer than one would prefer, two sets of utilities come per utility island so people pull thru in alternating directions which means you'll likely be facing your neighbor (not necessarily a bad thing), grass was pretty muddy after a big rain. Plenty of shops and fast food nearby, there's a Camping World a mile away, and this is a good location to the Henry Ford complex. We explored Detroit from this location as none of the other campgrounds looked that great. We would stay here again. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Not their fault but the service road off the hwy to the park is horribly potholed. I slowed down to a crawl to get through the worst part. The park is very nice. Wide open grass fields with hookups and picnic tables. Interior roads were easy to manage in my 40' 5th wheel. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

They had had days of rain and the camp was floating. The very helpful woman at the office warned us in advance, then scouted out our assigned site and switched us to one a little bit drier. Very convenient to Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village and Rogue River Plant. Campground was flooded due to several days of non stop rain, but the staff was excellent in placing us next to buildings that had full hook ups. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Normally the open grassy fields would accommodate your rig and looked to be fairly level. This is not a destination type campground but really convenient to Wal Mart, several restaurants and shopping in addition to the museums. We would stay here again if sight seeing in this area. We stayed here for 2 consecutive nights. The spots are grassy and level. The staff though extremely busy were very attentive. The service as at as electrical and sewer and water appeared to be almost new. Our spot was level and needed no blocks. The other campers were a little noisey but to be expected because they appeared to be semi-permanent. We camped at Wayne County Fairgrounds & RV Park in a Motorhome.
