Stayed overnight while going to Birch Run. Campground is close to Birch Run and Frankenmuth. Sites are fairly small, narrow and close together. Big rigs may have a hard time navigating some of the roads as there are many trees. There are some seasonal campers here but it is a good location to stay when doing other activities in the area. Campground easy access to I-75 but far away enough to escape noise. We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of shopping at Birch Run and surrounding area, antique dealers and Frankenmuth is close. Campground is a good alternative to staying in a hotel but not my idea of a "destination" campground. Office staff is very nice.

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Travelling home from the Michigan U.P. on route 75 my wife and I needed a stop over campground for an overnight. My wife found Pine Ridge on the phone app RVParky along with 3-4 other CG's. Pine Ridge was the only one that answered the phone, they had a site for us and was friendly and courteous. The other parks never called back. Being the type of camper that likes to research each campground we stay at when planning a trip I was a bit leery on what kind of place we would be pulling into. Well, to our surprise and as shown by our rating, what a pure delight this campground is. Off exit 139 from 75 So. it is located less than four miles from the very well known town of Frankenmuth, MI, which I've told my wife numerous times how many people have recommended Frankenmuth as a must visit long weekend place to go. Pine Ridge is a large extremely clean well run CG. It is a pull thru site heaven consisting of what appears to be about 100 or maybe more large well spaced pull thru sites! All are hard packed crushed binder stone pads with well trimmed grass lawns so nice we didn't put our patio mat out. Our site had 50 amp service, water and sewer and it also appeared that all of their sites were set up the same way. There are no fancy pools or playgrounds for the young-ins, no expense Wi-Fi, a few swings and a slide and a basketball half court hoop. Strict security when entering, patrolling around on a golf cart and you are given a security code for the gate for re-entry after hours. My wife and I liked this place so much we added a day to our trip and stayed an extra night! We commented to the very friendly gent in the office that whoever designed and owned Pine Ridge must be or was a camper themselves with the lay-out of their campground. Clean, very quiet, well spaced full service pull thru sites, secure, and so convenient to a tourist attraction like Frankenmuth, you will enjoy your visit here too! We can't wait to go back! We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Frankenmuth is a well known town for Bonners Christmas store which I'm told takes about 3 days to visit all of it, not including the on ground water park! Shops, restaurants, excellent brew pub. Also, less than 5 miles away a large outlet mall. Nearby gas stations too.

My main complaint about this campground was the showers. There was a caution to check the water temperature before entering the shower. This was laughable, as there was no way to adjust the water temperature, which was very hot. Not recommended if you have children! It cost 0.25 for 4 minutes. This campground has around 150 sites. No wifi or cable, but they did list the channels over the air. When we came in, which was shortly after 9pm the man was very irritable and curt. However the lady was very friendly in the morning. If you need to use the showers and have children, I cannot recommend Pine Ridge Rv Campground. Once our pilot light is working again and we can use our camper, I would come back. We came for a wedding July 21 - 23, 2017. We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very convenient to I-75 but with no noise. Attractive, clean park with sites spacious enough not to feel crowded. Lots of trees but fine for big rigs if care is exercised. Be careful to use the correct road out when leaving because the one going by the central building is narrow and curvy. Good OTA TV reception. Satellite reception could be a problem with all the trees. No wifi. Good place to stay for one night or many. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Both outlet stores and Frankenmuth are very close (3 to 5 miles). We do not recommend the Old Christmas Station Restaurant in Frankenmuth.....food was good but service was terrible. (Maybe that's why we were the only customers at 6:00 on a Friday night.) Lots of other places to choose from.

Expensive for what you get. Gravel/dirt sites on gravel roads. No cable or WiFi. Laundry: 2 washers and dryers for the entire park. Showers cost money to use. Staff is friendly but service people cut through occupied sites with golf carts and other equipment. Understand the monthly price just went up to 720.00. Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is nice with shady and sunny sites, long pull-throughs, full hook-ups and adequate sized lots, but no Internet or cable, which is reflected in the rate. The location is good, with easy access to I-75, restaurants, Premium Outlet Mall, and Frankenmuth.

Our main reason for the lower rating is the management and maintenance of the facilities rather than the facilities themselves. We were assigned a site which turned out to be flooded, moved to another site that was occupied, then allowed to take the site we wanted. We were offered an apology and a bundle of firewood, which we didn't use because the fire ring was too close to the truck for comfort. During our stay there were always several workers riding around on golf carts, but they were not leading new arrivals to their sites. Equipment and a supply of gravel were in a storage area, but the site flooding was not addressed. The laundry room was large, but had only two washers and two dryers and the drink machine and money changer were out of order. Also, the showers are coin-operated, which is a first for us.

Apparently the campground rules are just suggestions, as Rule 12 allows one small pet only, but one guest was walking two big German Shepherds several times a day, and several others had big dogs or several dogs. It's not a rule if it's not enforced.

This is a good campground and would be a much better one with a bit more effort and investment in management and maintenance. We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice wooded park within a couple of miles of Frankenmuth. Roads and sites are gravel. Roads are a bit tight toward the back of the park with trees right up to the roadway, even on the curves, but we had no trouble with our Dodge Ram 3500 dually long bed and 32 ft. Travel Trailer. Make sure you bring along some wood or ramps for leveling: you will need them! You do have to pay for showers but we always use our own shower so this was not an issue for us. All sites are full hook-up.

If you are traveling with kids, there is a small playground with a slide, swings, and a basketball net. No planned activities or swimming facilities.

There are streetlights in the park that stay on all night. If you are parked near one and don't have black out shades this could be an issue.

There is a nearby local racetrack that made for an unpleasantly loud first night at camp, but after the first night it was super quiet.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and plan to return for a longer stay. We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

A visit to Frankenmuth and Bronner's is a must!

If you don't enjoy the sounds of race cars while you are trying to relax by the fire or sleep, then make sure you check the schedule for Dixie Motor Speedway before booking your reservations.

We camped in the back of the park during a race and the cars could be heard loud and clear, even with the A/C on high, until well after midnight!

Our back in site was mostly level. Sites are gravel, but mostly grass & dirt. The park has 50 amp power and this is the reason for choosing this park. The other one near Frankenmuth only has 30 amp and it has been a very hot summer so we wanted to run both ACs. There is no cable but we had a satellite friendly site. There is no wifi and our AT&T hot spot could not get a signal. We had to move the picnic table from the middle of the site before we could back in. There were other sites where the picnic tables were right in the middle, also. Interior roads are a little narrow but trees were well trimmed. When we called to see if we could get an early check in, we were told there is a $5 fee PER HOUR for early checkins. That seems a little bit much! There is some road noise but no trains or planes so it is mostly quiet. We would probably try the other campground in the Frankenmuth area if we come here again. We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We were here in Michigan for a wedding and I chose this park after reviewing many others. The best thing about this park is its location. We were 5 miles from Frankenmuth, Mi., and less than that from the town of Birch Run with a Mejiers, restaurants and I-75. The bad thing was the bathhouse. It was not air conditioned and you have to pay $0.25 cents for 4 minutes of water. We didn't mind paying for the water but it is unbearably hot without a way to adjust it. We asked several times for them to turn the temperature down but they did not try at all to accommodate us. The park is quiet and has good security. A gated entrance and patrolled. Most of the park is shaded but the roads are dirt and rock so they would get muddy on the rainy days. There is a gentleman who rides around patrolling on a golf cart. He is not friendly at all and seemed to pick on some campers. There aren't anything for kids to do in the park but pets are welcome. I would consider staying here again if I needed to come back to Michigan for anything. We camped at Pine Ridge RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.
