I will preface this review by saying we are a family of 4 in our mid 30's with 2 boys aged 9 & 6. Overall our stay was exceptional and we would stay here again. The ultimate judge, my children, did not want to leave. We stayed 4 nights in a tent in early August. Our site was sandy and spacious with nice tree coverage to black the view of our neighbors. Power worked well, but their was an odd sounding rooster the would sound off every morning around 7am. Public Spaces: The grounds of this KOA are very well maintained. The public bathrooms /showers were always clean and well stocked. Inside you the camp store you will find all your basic needs including ice cream (packaged), coffee, and essentials. There was a small but well maintained fenced dog run for those with 4 legged family members. The road around the campground were a mix of paved and gravel. Lighting was mediocre, but that also meant it was not intrusive at night. My only complaint was there is only one bathroom. If you have kids and you think you will need to walk to the bathhouse at night make sure your not at the end of a loop like us. It was a long walk. If you need the bathroom facilities, request a site towards the front. Kids Spaces: Our kids loved the bounce pillow, sadly one was flat which meant the teenagers and younger kids were playing together. Overall this was not an issue, but if you had smaller kids it may be a concern. The playground is wooden and a bit dated, but functional. The pool is simple, but offers a nice shaded area for parents to sit, which I appreciated. The campground activities for the kids every day including a train ride which was a hit with my boys. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Tent.

Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 3 nights while travelling through. Very friendly, efficient and professional staff, clean, level site with full hookups. Park is sparsely populated as it is near off-season but I can see that when full, there is plenty of room. Very nice. We'd stay here again without a moments hesitation. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Just an ok campground. At least 15 miles south of Traverse City in Buckley. Pull through sites are gravel and grass with a nice picnic table and fire pit. Depending on the size of your neighbor's rig, you'll feel either closed in or have plenty of room in the grass. The sites with a patio looked a little more spacious. The CG does have really nice cabins with a deck and a fire pit. Would be perfect for friends or family that don't have RVs. Lots of open area for kids with volleyball, jumpers, disc golf and pool. Nothing spectacular but a nice stop over. WES fine. Wifi was ok not real speedy. Easy to maneuver in 45' motorhome. We were able to get satellite with a little maneuvering in the site. Gravel and paved roads. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Motorhome.

Very Clean Restrooms, Showers were cleaned twice a day along with the bathrooms. WiFi not very good but they were trying to upgrade it when we left. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Plenty for the kids to do with a nice pool. Traverse city about 20 minutes away. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

A really nice CG. Very family friendly with lots to do for the kids. Small dog park and lots of space around the park to walk your dog. Half and half paved and gravel roads. Easy to navigate even with a 45'+toad. Level gravel sites. Lots of shade yet clear enough for satellite dish. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Motorhome.

Really pleasantly surprised. Very nice for a KOA. Spacious, level sites. Good power and water pressure. Nice amenities for kids and pets. Paved roads in really good shape. Kind of in the middle of nowhere so no highway noise like we usually encounter at KOA. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay and found location great for visits to Traverse City, Interlochen, and Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Friendly staff and nice facilities.

Only complaint was the people who work in the area starting diesels at 5 a.m. to leave for work. I always think the people who still work should leave their vehicles in front of park so the rest of us can sleep! We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one happy KOA! It's about 13 miles south of Traverse, 3 miles north of Buckley. Close enough yet far enough away from all the TC hubbub, though if you like that hubbub, you may want to stay a little closer in to TC. We stayed here for two weeks, and very impressed with the entire park and staff (there are a lot of staff). Everyone is smiling, waving, cleaning, mowing, picking things up and otherwise keeping this well run park extremely tidy. The internal road is paved and the outer side roads are gravel, but nice firm, packed gravel. Sites are large, level and long (long enough for our 5'er and truck (without having to angle park it)). There are pull-through and back-in sites. Lots of amenities for the kiddos; pool, bike riding, trampoline type things, ball sports, etc. This KOA has a bunch of very nice cabins and plenty of tent sites as well. WiFi was sometimes spotty, but some of the best service we've had in awhile. We needed a couple of packages mailed to us and the staff was ok with those deliveries. The staff is some of the best we've ever seen. Kudos to them for keeping a well run park but also letting their guests enjoy their camping experience. One night a group was a bit loud around 11pm. Hubster said he heard a golf cart outside and then within minutes all was quiet. One observation is the bathrooms/showers are at the front of the park (very clean always). For the tent campers in the way back of the park have a jaunt to get to the bathrooms in the middle of the night. Not a problem for us, just an observation. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Head into Traverse City - enjoy Lake Michigan. Go wine tasting on Old Mission Pennisula and Lake Leelanau Peninsula. Drive over to Sleeping Bear Dunes Nat'l Lakeshore. So many things to do in TC!

Very clean nice park, many great features, had a deluxe site with the concrete pad and the metal patio table and chairs. Great for a centralized location to visit the area. First park I have been to that had a track for RC Cars and they rent them too. Nice staff and friendly people. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This a very nice park, a little smaller in size, compared to most KOA campgrounds. The spots are large for KOA, with some mature trees. The deluxe pad sites have nice fire pits and landscaping. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent KOA and we've stayed at a bunch of them. We saw many improvements like new decks & gravel at the cabins, new lawn furniture at premium sites, new carpet on mini-golf. It's obvious that the owners are taking care of this campground. Free Wi-Fi worked well. They also have cable TV and open skies in some sites for satellite. Pull thrus are easy in/out. Nice wide paved camp road for back in sites and no dust. My only complaint would be naturally sandy soil so we had to bathe our dog a lot to keep fleas off. Friendly staff. With Traverse City nearby and many kid friendly things here, this could be a destination campground. It's off season so rates are cheaper. Both Verizon and ATT had strong signals. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is the kind of KOA where you take the kids and stay for a while. Because of a last-minute glitch, we needed a place to stay for one night in the middle of the busy Memorial Day weekend. We felt lucky to have snagged a spot at this place, but overwhelmed by the crowds. Very friendly camp hosts, efficient check in, but the crowds overwhelmed the limited restroom facilities. Our site was pretty muddy after the rain and was the cut-through site for everybody and their brother to the restrooms (no clear path). Kamp K9 was nice, but small for the big dogs (and crowded, too). Some highway noise. Nice enough place, but not in our opinion the kind of location or facilities that rate an 8 or better. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Clean campground located about 30 min south of Traverse City and an hour east of Sleeping Bear Dunes. The good: Heated pool. Mini golf at $1 per round kept kids happy. Clean restrooms and super clean laundry facilities. Bounce pillow was great for kids, and the playground was good. Train ride was fun for kids. They deliver wood and pick up trash. Areas of need: only one restroom. A second facility, even if it was a shed with a flush toilet would be helpful for when they close the restrooms to clean. Because there is only one bathroom, a vanity counter with hairdryer plugs would be helpful so women could brush teeth and wash hands instead of waiting while others are taking over the sinks and mirrors to do hair and makeup. Wi-fi weak and actually broke during our stay. They also ran out of ice in the store and couldn't tell us when we could get more. Overall a good stay at a small and clean KOA. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Tent Trailer.

This is one of the nicest/cleanest KOAs that we have been in recently. The sites are large, even though they are close. Has great cable TV and Wi-Fi service. Even though the campground is 12 miles south of Traverse City, it's an easy ride to everything nearby. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we would stay here again. It's what you would expect from a well run KOA, which for our money usually provides you with a known product, unlike some of the other campgrounds that we were in on this most recent trip. Yes, they cost more but most of the time they are worth the extra few $ss. We camped at Traverse City KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
