We stayed in this campground for one night. While it would probably be good for a longer stay as well, it was great for an overnight visit. The entrance is a little over a mile from the US-131 exit: very easy to get to. Since the time we arrived was later, the office was closed, but our reservation and site info was posted at the office door. And the owners checked on us later to make sure all was well.
Our site was very good size, as are most sites in the park. We were at a full hook-up site in what appeared to be a newer area so there were not trees and shade, but some of the electric/water sites had good shade. There were a lot of season lease sites but they appeared to be well maintained and many were in a separate area.
While we did not use it, the pool was beautiful and appeared to be quite new. The showers appeared to also to be quite new. The bathrooms, while older, were well maintained and clean. There are a number of recreational facilities available at the park (mini golf, rec room, basketball, etc.). We could only receive a few TV stations. The cell phone reception was good. Wi-fi worked well. The nearby town does not have a lot of businesses and we could not find any fast-food type restaurants close for a quick supper.
We recommend this campground and will stay here again when we are in the area. - RXA-ADM

We were not very impressed with this campground. The
restrooms were very small and not very clean. I was actually in the restrooms t two different times while they were being cleaned and could not believe what a bad job they were doing. We bought fire wood that was very wet and when we complained about it, were told that we must not know how to start a fire. They finally exchanged it for us and this wood was also wet. THe Amish baked goods were wonderful and the kids enjoyed the wagon ride. The pool was decent. The kids would have been very bored had it not been for the pool. We are not planning any trips back to this campground. - momma5kids

This is a family oriented park. They have many activities including: an arcade, free mini golf, volley ball, basketball, a playground, horse shoes, a heated pool, crafts for kids on Sunday mornings at a low cost, and tubing rentals. Coffee and cookies are served Saturday and Sunday mornings. Free popcorn Saturday nights with a wagon ride after. Local Amish come in on Saturday nights to sell baked goods and more. We spent a Saturday night here. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We had a great time in spite of the rain. We definitely will go back. The only drawbacks were the mens room had only two stalls and one shower. I was quite surprised I didn't have to wait to take a shower. The store is small. It is a room inside the owners manufactured home. If you have children, I'm sure there will be enough to keep them busy especially on the weekend. - shadowgwm

Christian based campground. No alcohol allowed. Lots of things to do. Great programming during summer months. Swim area is well designated in lake. Horseback riding available. Staff very helpful. Dump station easy to maneuver. - Not-so-grumpy Sam

Awesome place!!! This is a he cleanest park we've ever stayed in. Clearly well thought out. Wonderful management. The marina area is beautiful and river view breathtaking. - cmiller
Oct 2016 - $45.00
We were there as part of a late season rally. There was still a lot to offer even with as much closed up as was. It is a very pretty setting and far from most of the hubbub. The only draw back is that the sewer connection is not with the other utilities and we had to disconnect to pull forward enough to dump. - Matt_C

Large well-maintained resort. We stayed overnight before heading to Big Rapids. Since it's late in the season, the park was very quiet with most facilities closed for the winter.
Nevertheless, the grounds were immaculate with concrete pads, grass surrounding the site and fire ring with patio table. Most sites are back in with some pull through with ours the latter. There are basketball courts, a small soccer field, sand volleyball and tennis courts along with a marina.
We would definitely stay here again. - 2sunkid
Jun 2013 - $22.00
This is a nice park. We chose it to be near our friends that live nearby. The sites are grassy and mostly level; it was soft the week we were there due to the recent rains. No pets are allowed which was fine for us. The park is mostly a seasonal park that gets busy on Thursday and lasts until late on Sunday. Monday-Wednesday the park is very quiet. The restroom/shower facility near our site needs updating but was adequate. The park has W/E only but there is a dump location as you leave. We found the park filled with friendly families that know each other and have been coming for years. We kayaked and fished the river - caught enough fish for lunch. We would visit again. Be prepared for little if any Verizon signal, and we could not locate our satellite signal. We did receive a few channels on our antennae. Good Sam's discount. You must pay for a county pass either a daily fee or season fee to help the county maintain the park,so this is added to your bill. - westie0506

Nice park, well managed, wagon rides for kids in evening. No dogs barking! - Titanium-Jim
Jul 2012 - $27.00
Wonderful campground -quiet, secluded, large sites and fabulous bathrooms/showers. My husband commented that in our 2 years of full-timing they were the best showers yet! AT&T cell service - 1 bar, used our Verizon air card for decent connection and Verizon cell service was pretty good. Mostly level spots. Sites included an in-ground fire pit and table. There is a small pond with a circulating waterfall in it that people could swim in with a very small beach. There is a game room with 2 pool tables, only one of which was working, air hockey and some other games. They also have a slightly covered area for groups with picnic tables. The campground host/maintenance guy was great. The office has interesting hours - opening at 10 but they were never in the office when we came by. They are a Good Sam park but when I called to make a reservation I was told they had no discounts and my credit card was charged the full rate. Upon our arrival there was a big Good Sam sign at the front of the park and when I asked for my discount one of the women at the desk told me I could only use that when I purchased my membership, the other woman corrected her and then the first got kind of indignant that I actually wanted that small amount ($2.70) refunded. We stayed an extra night and went in twice to try to pay and request the discount again to be credited but at our check out they had yet to run our credit card for the second night. I hope when they do run it they apply the $5.40 two night discount! We would definitely return. - Bill & Debby's Wild Ride
Aug 2016 - $20.00
There are a number of sites with Gray Water facilities. They also have a dump station.
Remarkable beauty, and dynamite fishing on both lakes!! This one is a must see hidden gem!! - Mac Workz
Jun 2013 - $32.00
A Hidden Gem!! Wonderful place to camp. The campground staff was very friendly and always ready to help in any way. Campground host was awesome! The lots were fairly large and were shaded. The area was quiet. We would definitely camp there again! - User3075
Jun 2012 - $28.00
This is a beautiful place. Very friendly and helpful personnel. Lovely short walk to river with view of small rapids. Even has a small Eiffel tower. Only drawback is no concrete camp sites. Watch out if ground is soft. Tight maneuver for 45' big rig. Also watch for large, short post close to road at each site. - travel2011

Jun 2015 - $1.00
We stayed on a private lot on the property with full hookups. The owners of the park are relatively new (3 years) and have made huge improvements in the facilities. This was once a Western Horizon Park, now much improved. Our conversation with the new owners indicates they are proud of the things they have achieved, the condition of the facilities and the additions they have made. We enjoyed our stay here and would return when in the area. - SilverBear
Jul 2011 - $4.00
This park has had some bad reviews in the past. The dusty roads have been fixed with a spray. The ant hills are still here, but don't see a lot of ants. We put stuff out and it is gone, so it is working. We found a site that has full hookups and still can get satellite with a portable dish. Lots of trees. Power & water are fine. Very few people here during the week. Office staff is all business, but OK. Workers are friendly and helpful. Park is not near any large city, so we probably wouldn't stay here again. Grand Rapids and Muskegon are 50 miles away. - eclp64
Aug 2008 - $40.00
This is a very nice wilderness park. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our stay at this resort. There is a lake with some lake front sites and many shaded sites. - Kent Savage
Jun 2011 - $35.00
Nice quiet park. Great location on the Muskegon River with quite a few sites on the river. We camped on the river; lots of mosquitos! Camp staff was very friendly and helpful (helping us after losing power and finding breaker in our RV). Not a lot to do, but did take a short kayak trip down the river. - michele mackey
