Oak Shores is another "campground" that in reality is a weekend getaway for the locals, as most of the trailers are permanently parked. The campground has two nice lakes, and all the lake spots are taken. So don't expect to camp along the lake shores. We where in the area for a family event and only needed a place to stay. It was the first open weekend of the year, and many people where cleaning their campsites and blowing away dead leaves. As with many campgrounds of this type, there are golf carts everywhere, seems like everyone owns one. Overall, it is good value and nice place to stay for a few days, but don't expect a quite or low traffic campground, as it is quite busy all hours of the day and night. Water pressure was good but was located on the opposite side of our site, and our site had a new electrical panel installed over the winter. They advertised wifi but it required a password that where not given at check-in, so we didn't use it. We camped at Oak Shores Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed here numerous times. This campground is okay. Not too fancy, not shabby. Lots of golf cart traffic and kids playing in the street. It can get crowded on busy holiday weekends. Power and water is setup weird in older section. I've had to use our 30 amp extension cord and extra hose. They recently built a new section and dredge a pond in the middle These sites are very nice, concrete parking pad and normal utilities. We camped at Oak Shores Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Busy park with mostly seasonal campers. Lots of golf carts. Lake is small, and lined with seasonal trailers. We camped near several partiers that were up very late. We camped at Oak Shores Campground in a Motorhome.

Oak shores is a laid back campground. Lots of children. We have been here twice and going back again in July. The only negative I could say is there was a lack of enforcement on the rules of quiet time. But all in all we enjoyed both of our stays. It is on a lake which is handy if you like to fish. There are no cement pads so remember some blocks for leveling. You can have either very shady sites or sun sites depending on your preference. We camped at Oak Shores Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The park was "golf cart central". Lots of seasonals which cruise on their golf carts all day and evening long. It was fairly quiet. Most roads were paved. Bathrooms/Showers were old and could use a remodel. The site I was told to be lake front, was not really "lake front" as it was enclosed on 2 sides by a fence with a retaining wall. The path to the beach was next to that site. The location of the electrical box was situated closer to the neighboring site, which made it impossible for us to extend our electrical cord. I returned to the office to have us put onto a differen site. Which was the same way, so we just moved to the next site over, as they were not full anyway. Beware of even number sites. That's where the problem is with the location of the electric box. it wasn't too bad, but we will not return. Grassy sites. We camped at Oak Shores Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Oak Shores Campground has a lot of permanent campers. It also has a lot of rules! Not recommended for campers with kids (ages 0-17). It seem there is a rule for everything children do while camping. No scooters, no rollerblades... you name it. You can have a PEDDLE bike. NO TOYS ALLOWED IN POOL. This campground is more for the senior citizens than a family. I will not return. Rules do not apply to the “permanent campers”. Golf carts are constantly driving the "LOOP". Not bad if you don't mind the buzzing of golf carts all day! The lake not real clean... There is a lot of pond scum. We camped at Oak Shores Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

My family camped here many years ago when I was a child. Though it would be nice to go back. Camped here in 2005 and it was OK but not the most friendly. Tried to make a reservation in 2006 (last summer) and was even looking at their web while making the phone call. Staff person insisted that site we had been in the year before (and was requesting again) was seasonal only and was NEVER available any other way. They ended up trying to give me a lesson in which way was North and South (remember I was looking at their site map while talking to them) I finally got so frustrated we decided to camp at another facility. Maybe they are OK. But we won't go back. We camped at Oak Shores Campground in a Travel Trailer.
