We camped here with a 30ft Travel trailer and had Site 15 with a full hookup. However to use the hookup we would have to drive in, and then wouldn't be able to get our truck out unless we drove through other campsites if available. The sewer connection is at the front of the site so when we backed in we had to put the extended 30 foot sewer hose underneath the trailer to reach the connection. The water and electric hookups are nearer the middle of the site edge. This is a backin site (no pull thru sites) and all hookups are on the wrong side for a backin site. The staff was very polite and very helpful.

The campground is situated right on the waterfront of Lake Superior and is a beautiful spot. The road into the campground is narrow and thank goodness we didn't meet anyone coming the other way. Sites backing to the lake have water only hookups. The wifi is very sporadic to say the best.

When will campgrounds learn that many of us want to be able to go online to look at places to visit in the area, book tours, or book or reconfirmed our next campground. Good reliable wifi should be a priority. We camped at Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Was impossible to use this campground as roads way too narrow and turns too sharp for our club cab truck and 34 fifth wheel. Phoned previous to arrival, owner very nice over phone. After reaching campground, discovered that there was no way for our rig to survive without hitting trees, so after several tries and backing up a few times, was able to navigate our way out. Road into the campground also very narrow, and when we met another rig halfway there we both had to pull off the shoulders to let each other pass. This may be a nice place, but we could not use. Nice area of the peninsula, but not for us. We camped at Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sunset Bay RV Resort is in a beautiful location. The road into the park is narrow and gravel, but we had no problems with our 40' fifth wheel. The roads inside the park are narrow and could be problematic for long rigs. The sites for RVs are not along the shoreline. All the shoreline sites are tent sites. Overall, a nice park in a beautiful part of the Upper Peninsula. We camped at Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you go to the Jam Pot. Great cookies and jellies run by a religious order (don'the know which one). Go to the beach every night to watch the sunsets. They don't call this Sunset Bay for nothing.

This campground is located on the shores of Lake Superior and has without a doubt one of the most beautiful and scenic views in the State of Michigan. The campground is clean and well run with the only drawback being no sewers; of course, there is a dump station. A real plus is the free WiFi: somewhat slow at times but overall a surprise in such a remote location. Shore power was good and drinking water was excellent. We stayed 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. Would rate it a 10 but felt I could not do so because of the lack of sewers. We camped at Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

What a beautiful spot for a campground! All of the sites are a few seconds walking distance from the Lake Superior shoreline. You can walk as far as you want in either direction along the shore, - a rocky shoreline at the campground. Yes, the sunsets are beautiful. The washrooms are plain but very clean. The three shower units are self contained with toilet, sink as well as shower. The sites are acceptably level, relatively spacious and there are lots of trees. I was surprised and pleased to have wireless internet available. We camped at Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Absolutely gorgeous park, we stayed here in a motorhome right on Lake Superior. We were 20 feet from the lake, gorgeous views, especially at sunset. That's why they call it Sunset Bay. No wireless or cable, pretty primitive. Excellent hiking trails right along the lake. We camped at Sunset Bay RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.
