Enjoyed the beaches, park, and walkways as they are always kept clean. Park personnel go out of their way to keep it up to date. Wood is delivered to your site, dump station has hoses already connected to speed the process. Trash left at sites is quickly cleaned by staff when it is reported. Grass is covering more of the sites due to tree loss. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

East Tawas, Tawas City, and Oscoda work at having many festivals, sales, concerts, and movies on the beaches and in town. Lots to do if you need to leave the campground as well as many places to shop.

The campground map on their Website is misleading: the "lake front" is blocked by a tree covered knoll and there are not a lot of paths to the lake. Big rigs: the "lake side" sites are short and the trees need trimming (for anything larger than a 30 ft Class C.) Office folks are lovely when you come back to say your site is too short, overgrown and un-level. We were in site 32 first then in site 101 - where our 36 ft overhung into someone else's empty site...OK on a Monday night during the eclipse and the campground only 60% full but I've no idea what we would have done on a weekend. The beach was an easy walk and lovely. Verizon worked well. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great family park with a lot to do. Bring the bikes there are riding trails. You could ride to town, which is 3 miles from park. Great pet beach, bring fido. Did not try the little restaurant by "human only" beach but the menu had great selections, food looked good and very close to beach and lighthouse. Plus the view of Lake Huron. Sites are large but you don't get much privacy. Sites with water views are nice but only of Tawas Bay. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Town of East Tawas is 3 miles from park. Great food market/butcher with fresh steaks in town, will ground your meat while you wait. There is also a Walmarts about 4 Miles away. There is a Big Boy restaurant on the corner of the main road M23 and Beach Road. You can rent sup or kayaks at the beach in the park.

Nice park with the bay on one side and lake Huron on the other. We stayed here for the long 2017 4th of July weekend. The sites are large and grassy, most are slightly shaded. Most sites allowed for back in or parallel parking which is rare for a state park. the sites are a little close to the rear. However, if you are here with friends you could get back to back sites and parallel park to great a nice camp area in between. It was clear that many have done this. The roads are paved but a little narrow. we had no problem navigating our 35' rv through the park. We did unhook the toad before driving in. It would be a little tight otherwise. Plenty of room to park the toad at the site. Verizon signal was a little week and intenet on the slow side but usable. ATT signal was strong and speed was great. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Motorhome.

Although the park was fully booked when we stayed here, it was absolutely quiet during the night. Nice walk to the lighthouse, and beautiful trails to walk. The beaches were ok, the one closest to the campground was small. Water was available at some points, or you had to bring your own. Good fire pit. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Motorhome.

Park is continually changing first with all the trees removed and grass taking over all sites. It is looking cleaner than it even did before. Park has gotten seagulls to stay mostly away. Lake and bay levels are way up causing most of dog beach and regular beach to go away. This is just a cyclic change. Park personnel are great with attention to details. Wood delivery to your site is a bonus here. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Other than the usual in East Tawas we traveled north to visit the Dinosaur Gardens in Ossineke. City has enough shopping and gift shops for everyone. G's Pizzeria and Marions Ice Cream are always a stop.

The park has changed with the tree diseases. 400 trees removed over the winter and the park has more grass, sun, and much more pleasant than before. Maintenance has been great with all people working to make the stay pleasant.

Dog beach and grill at the people beach add to the things to do as do the lighthouse tours.

Lake and Bay levels are up so there is less sand but still plenty for all to enjoy. Paved paths in the park and to town add much. Firewood delivered to your site is also good. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lumberman's Monument, Au Sable River, Iargo Springs, Ben Franklin, G's Restaurant, and Marion's Ice Cream give alot to do in and around town. Canoeing and boat rentals are also available. Jerrys Marina will teach kite-boarding if you are in to that.

This is a very busy campground, with most of the sites occupied. We had one campsite for 2 nights, and then moved to another campsite for the last night. Most of the campsites are level. They have electricity, but not water. You can get water either at the point where you enter or at the dump station. There are two beaches, one on the Tawas Bay side and one on the Lake Huron side. There is a pet beach for your dog. On site also is the Tawas Point lighthouse. This is a very family friendly site. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Motorhome.

Again had sites along the playground and volleyball court, all grass, level, with good power. The lake is up but plenty of beach both on the lake and bay side. Boardwalk to the pet beach is underwater at parts but that is not a problem. Dog wash area is provided for those that get into the dirt after swimming. New grill at the beach has many menu items with a DJ on Friday so entertainment is very nice. Staff and host were very helpful with firewood available and can be delivered to your site if requested. The city, East Tawas with it's stores and restaurants gives this place a small town feel with big town conveniences. While the park with 3 mile bike trail to town isolates you from any of the hustle. We will return next year. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful state park on Tawas Bay. Sites are all grass except for the ADA ones near the bathrooms and vary in levelness. We first stayed near the beach; however, the wind was so strong that the campfires blew into are rig. Moved to space 2, which is a large spot near entrance. Like most state parks, would not want to be here when full. Bath/showers spotless. Staff extremely pleasant. Strong Verizon cell/Mi-Fi signal. Kayak and bike rental. Great place for kite boarding. Would stay again. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Had sites 2, 4, 6, 8, and 90 with a group and everything worked perfect. Sites were next to field for dog walking and disc golf. The water level is down in Lake Huron, so walking the beach was beautiful. The kite-boarders were having a great time both in the bay and main lake. Bike paths were clear and ran all the way, 3 miles to the city. Restaurants and shopping were good as usual with crowds at a minimum. We will return. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a pretty area right on Lake Huron. The Tawas Lighthouse and gift shop is easy bicycle riding distance from the campground. Camp sites are large but there appears to be no rules for how you use your site. RVs are parked all over the place and in every direction, sometimes very close to the road making it difficult to navigate. Sites have 30amp electric only and the water faucets placed here and there in the campground are the kind you have to hold on and a hose cannot be connected to them. You must fill your water tank at the check in office where they do provide a white water hose which is nice. The dump station is large and dump hoses are provided. The Lake Huron swim beach in the park is really nice with a nice walkway across the sand and food and drink sold on site. There are miles of bicycle trails both in and right outside the park. Lots of nice shopping and restaurants very close to the park in downtown East Tawas. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Our annual week was in sites 1, 2, and 3 that back up to the volleyball and playground. An advantage for walking the dog and watching units come in. Extremely hot weather made air conditioning mandatory and the park electric grid held up even tho the park was filled every night. Rangers and the Host made you feel safe and well taken care of. Having water at the contact station on entry and slinks at the dump make those two tasks go very quick. A nice touch at only a few state parks. The water in Lake Huron was low so the Piping Ploovers had taken over some of the beach area on the lake side and it was restricted from walking the shoreline. There is still plenty to walk and the beach was full. Visited Lumbermans Monument and Largo Springs as is our custom and access is easy from this park. The city had two concerts free in town with plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from for eats and drinks. We will return next year with more in the group. A park you don't want to miss. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is my favorite campground in Michigan. Most of the sites are very large, big rig friendly, level and grass covered. The sites closer to the bay are usually congested and are generally occupied by people with boats. Sites 142 through 207 are quite large and will accommodate most rigs. There are about 9 pull through lots that are very nice if you can book one. The park is located on a point with Tawas Bay on one side and Lake Huron on the other. The bay side is popular with kite surfers and is very shallow. The Lake Huron side has a huge sandy beach and the crystal clear but cold waters that are typical of the Great Lakes. The town of East Tawas is quaint and has many enjoyable opportunities for dining or shopping. Michigan has many amazing state parks and this one is a gem. We camped at Tawas Point State Park in a Travel Trailer.
