Overall Rating:

We stayed a week in the resort section so the comments are mostly limited to that side of the property. The property's entrance is very spacious, attractive and beautifully landscaped, right off of M 72. The queue area is equally spacious, with a half dozen long, although not level, registration spots. Staff is very friendly, efficient and helpful. The resort side is accessed through gates with a clicker they give you. The roads are paved and wide. The sites are mostly back-ins with a few pull-ins. They are very spacious, many with paver pads, level, generous patio area, fire pit and table, lush landscaping with wildflowers everywhere. A beautiful pond and waterfall with overstuffed chairs to wile the day away. The site map makes it look busy, but probably half of the sites depicted have yet to be sold/developed. Which leads to the bigger issue for us, the restrooms. The site map also leads you to believe there are restrooms and showers in the resort area. Not true. They are under construction, and have been for several years. So you need to use the restrooms at the office, which are old but fine, and are only open during office hours. Shower costs 25 cents for each 3-5 minutes. Before and after, you need to use the restrooms in the R V park section. Also, no cable, no OTA and no T-Mobile service. Verizon seemed to work o.k. Internet was mostly good, and all the sites appeared to be satellite friendly. The utilities were very good. Great location to explore the peninsulas and surrounding towns. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

Friendly staff, disappointed in RV sites considering the price. Liked proximity to Sleeping Bear Dunes and the peninsula but the spaces were ok. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

This review is for the RV park. View resort looks like a whole other world. It's the difference between living in an expensive subdivision versus shacktown on wrong side of the tracks. First of all, let me touch on the really good things. The staff is super friendly, accommodating, and kind. The pool area is beautiful. When I called to make reservations for five nights a couple of months ago, I was told that their "new" section was open.Due to some mobility issues and the proximity to the showers, I jumped at the chance. When we were arrived at the park, I was very disappointed to see that the entire new area section is really nothing but cement pads surrounded by sand and dirt. The trees are very sparse, so there's no reason they couldn't plant some grass. Our trailer was filthy from tracking stuff in and out by the end of the first day. I was pretty disappointed to learn that the shower house directly across from our camp area was pretty dirty because of the lack of grass surfaces, so everyone just tracked in all the dirt and it constantly looked gross. As well, only one of the showers in the shower house were in operation. We constantly had to drive to the other side of the park in order to use a handicap shower. I'm assuming all the great reviews for this park are based upon the gated resort area ( that you can't get into unless you have a class a trailer). I wish we would have stayed at one of the state campgrounds, even though we wouldn't have had sewer hook up. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Indigo Bluffs RV Park and Resort, manager at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort responded to this review

Sorry we missed the mark with you, but thank you for recognizing our wonderful staff. This area was named "Most Beautiful in America", not for its man-made and manicured elements, but for its abundant natural features. We feel that's a pretty good lead to follow as that is what draws people here. Our guests love the minimally disturbed approach we take - they want an authentic camping experience, not a suburbial one.
There is no right or wrong way to camp, which is why we offer multiple experiences for our guests to choose from. Our new section was completed on June 15th, so it'll take Mother Nature a while to do her thing. The coming off-season will allow us to help her out a bit on some final details.

This review is for the gated-access "resort" section of campground only...which appears to be a whole' nuther world from their standard camping area. Besides the gated access, the resort side features sites with manicured lawns (wonder if I will ever have a CG with automatic pop-up sprinklers outside again, LOL!), landscape pavers for the site and nice small trees, very wide paved interior roads, a little pond and benches, etc.... all meticulously maintained. One big disappointment, which I found to be a bit misleading: the building on map showing the bath house/showers/laundry is actually still under construction, resulting in NO bathrooms or showers in the resort side. As of our stay, there was no work being done on it and completion looked months away, so you might want to ask about it, especially for the premium price you will pay in the resort side. The Wifi was overloaded and useless, but Verizon signal there was strong. There is no cable TV. They pick up trash left in front of site daily, and even delivered a picnic table (free) upon request. Fire is actually a free-standing brazier, which was nice, and they deliver firewood. Staff was very friendly, they had a nice camp store and pool. We would stay again if we wanted to treat ourselves; all things considered, we enjoyed it very much. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

You came here for Sleeping Bear Dunes, right? Great park, with a great bike trail. Traverse City is not far away either to explore, especially the wineries on peninsula.

This park has two sides - an older, traditional-style, rustic side and a newly developed, roads-paved, full hook-up, gated "resort" side. Because it was off-season (the pool was closed and the park was about 20% full), we stayed on the resort side and took advantage of a discounted rate ($40/night - no tax). I can only speak about resort side. It was beautiful. We loved it. Each site is spacious with lots of grass, flowers and some trees (but not so many to make it "woodsy") plus a lovely common area water feature many sites can see and hear. Verizon cell and Sprint Mifi worked well. Park wifi was spotty even though the park was nearly empty. We were able to obtain DirecTV satellite signal and I suspect most sites would have satellite access. All hook-ups worked perfectly and water pressure was good. It is very big rig friendly. The reservation and check-in process were easy with a friendly and efficient staff. The site is stamped concrete, level and included a nice patio, chairs and fire-pit (no picnic table). Trash is picked up each morning at your site. The location was perfect for exploring the area whether going to Point Betsie or Frankfurt or Sleeping Bear Dunes or Glen Arbor or Traverse City, etc. There's so much to do. Indigo Bluffs was pretty and elegant and quiet and simply a pleasant place to be. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay again. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Point Betsie Lighthouse and bike/walk Betsie Valley Trail. See Crystal Lake and the towns of Frankfurt and Beulah. Don't miss Sleeping Bear Dunes. At a minimum do Pierce Stocking Trail getting out at every stop. If you have time, bike Heritage Trail or do one of the many hikes. Visit Glen Arbor and don't miss Cherry Republic (all things cherry!). Traverse City is about 30 minutes away and worth it.

This review is for the RV Park (not the RV Resort). A short drive to town of Empire and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Very friendly, helpful lady at front desk. Paved interior road was rather rough; sites are shady, mostly level, roomy, gravel with concrete pad. Park is pet-friendly - plenty of grassy areas and paths for walking my dogs; complete with dog-waste bags and buckets. No TV channels with our antenna, and I couldn't get the WiFi to work. However, we would stay here again. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here on a whim on Labor Day weekend, knowing we did not have a reservation, but lucked out as the campers on the site we were led to had just canceled their reservation. The staff was friendly, but not the best at follow up, more on this. The site was large and level, the campground is spacious, feeling like a state or national park and the bathrooms clean. The site we had did not have a sewage hook up so I scheduled and paid for a pick up the following day, which the campground did not follow through on. Our tanks were full and I had to be a little forceful and rude to ensure they did follow through, with the staff asking if we could go one more day. Even with this, I would highly recommend this campground, you will not be disappointed. We camped here in a travel trailer for 3 nights and will happily stay here again. I paid $44 a night for water and electric, NOT sewer. They offer NO discounts, including nothing off for staying 7 days. On top of that, they charge for showers! Bathroom had **** on the toilet seat. You can connect to their Internet, but download speed was less than 0.2 mbit (useless). Internal roads are paved but not in good shape. Pool is nice, and support staff friendly. Sites have lots of shade but are sandy. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is really 2 in 1. One side is rustic and older and the other is new, modern, and very well equipped.
We stayed on the newer side. They are still adding new sites here but the current ones are very nice. They are fully paved and have a large patio attached. There was no picnic table but we have our own to use.
We were quite far from the club house, pool, and showers but a new building is in progress that will have showers and laundry in this area.
We would stay again. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice place. Well kept sites for sale. Missing many potential sites and buildings so the place is still under construction. A little too much raw weedy areas for me, I guess some people like it. During my 4 nights there was a sprinkler running on a dead patch of lawn, water running down the street the entire time. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

My wife and I spent the summer at Indigo, it is one of the nicest rv park we have been in. The staff is very friendly and do a good job of keeping the park clean. A new wifi system was put in last week, works much better than the old system. The clubhouse is about half way done, should be ready for next year. If you are visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes area or Traverse City this is the nicest park in the area to stay. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is beautiful ! They have a separate motorcoach section with paved sites and snobbish appeal, but where we were parked with our 42` fifth wheel was simply gorgeous. Level sites amongst the trees with friendly staff and beautiful surrounds. We would definitely return, it`s gorgeous ! We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park. The overnight sites are heavily wooded so a satellite signal is very difficult/impossible to get. Other than that it is well kept with most seasonal sites neat and the staff very friendly. Would stay here again. We camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
