First off, remember it is a fairgrounds. So either check their online schedule of events or call to make sure they have a space. They have 98 FHU sites and several hundred WE. Some are nicely shaded, most are not. Ideal for satellite. The main entrance is on 12th St. There is a dump station to the right as you enter. The fairgrounds also includes the local racetrack, so don't be surprised if there is a loud Friday and/or Saturday night. We camped at Upper Peninsula State Fair in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a local grocery store nearby, Elmer's Country Market, that is privately owned and working hard to earn their business. Great place to shop, far, far better than Wally World. If its not groceries there is a new Meijers in town. A local specialty of the UP is a pasty. It's a meat/vegetable handheld pie. The best in town is Gram's just West of town on Hwy 41. Well worth the stop.

Stayed here while passing through the area on Labor Day weekend.
Old tractor, flea market and gun show going on at the grounds but no problem finding a very nice 30 amp/water site so we could walk to the event. Very nice men manning the gate directed us to the envelope payment box, filled it out, put a twenty in, put it in the secure box and went about our business. We were advised about the pancake breakfast in the morning so we will take this in and enjoy this gem of a campground in the UP. Would use this place again if in this area. We camped at Upper Peninsula State Fair in a Fifth Wheel.

The U.P.Fairgrounds webpage advertises 120 FHU sites, 250 W&E, plus other sites. We stayed on a very large full hookup site with 50 amp service. Sites were grass, level, and recently mowed. We had excellent utility service plus Verizon phone, MiFi and satellite reception. We did not use the restrooms which were quit a ways from us, but this was no problem as we use our motor home facilities. There are many other sites located all around the fairgrounds. None of the "sites" are well defined with boundaries.

We had no problem with noise, such as trains, planes, etc. And importantly, few bugs, but it was windy. We stayed here a week over July 4th and definitely will return when in the area. (To access detailed camping information for the fairgrounds go to the Delta County website at www.upstatefair.org). We camped at Upper Peninsula State Fair in a Motorhome.
