Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $20.00
This is a township operated campground that's a bit off the beaten track, around 11 miles east of I75 and then, once you are east of Essexville, it is a few miles down a county road. On the map the campground appears to be on Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron, and it is very close to the bay. However, there's a large, dense wetlands area that makes the bay pretty much inaccessible except by boat via a canal cut through the wetlands. There are, though, a couple of nice walking areas, one along the canal that stops short of the bay and another 2-3 mile trail through the wetlands, reaching all the way back to town. The campground itself is situated between corn fields and the wetlands. This is a nicely done campground with paved roads and campsites. All campsites are level full hookup, 50 amp sites with adequate grassy yards providing plenty of elbow room. The water hookups are a bit strange. Four sites share a four hookup water spigot. In our case our water hookup was on the wrong side of the camper and fairly distant from it. I pieced a few spare hoses together to reach it, so no worries. However, I can imagine a person coming in and not having enough hose to reach. It would probably be wise to have some extra hose along. The campground has good WiFi and a heated bath house. I had good Verizon 4G and was able to get a satellite signal with no problem. A big Krogers and lots of other shopping is nearby. There are several seasonal residents at Finn Road and I can see why they like it. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Tips for other Campers:
Visit the USS Edson, a 1950's - 80's Navy Destroyer in nearby Bay City.

Small, quiet campground in middle of farm land; our site backed onto a cornfield. Campground is neat & tidy with paved roads and cement pads for each site. Can't beat price of $23/night, incl tax, for full hook-up; also no reservation fee. Phone reception & free internet worked great. Had over a dozen tv stations with our antenna. Some seasonal sites but all had modern large units and were well kept. Not much for children to do although there is a small playground & horse shoe pits for older children. Public boat launch adjacent to campground parking lot. Nice paved trail from boat launch leading out to the bay. There's also a Nature Trail Walkway, about 2 miles long that starts at the campground and leads out towards Bay City. Sadly, you cannot see the bay from either trail due to thick high plants/weeds that grow about 6' tall. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Tips for other Campers:
Golfed at Bay County Golf Course on W. Hampton Rd., just a few blocks away. Very nice course, well groomed, and only $27 for 18 holes with a cart.

This park has large lots, cement patio. Checkin was great. A little out of the way but very private. Great walking trails along water and in the wetlands, right next to campground. Great for walking pets. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
What a gem of a park. Not really close to anything but a lovely well maintained park. Office staff was very friendly. Well maintained sites, grass between sites well kept. I would definitely go back if the opportunity permits. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Motorhome.
A nice quiet campground with full hookups and Wi-Fi . Wi-Fi was so so during our 3 day stay, could only access it at limited times. Sites here have concrete pads. There is a limited number of 50 amp sites. Electric and sewer are in the correct location. Water is shared by 4 sites, so extra hoses are needed. TV via batwing was very good, Verizon cell and broadband also very good. Overall a nice place to spend some time. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $19.00
Large level paved sites with large grass yard. Good full hookups. Clean bathrooms. Great WIFI. Good over the air TV. Not much for kids to do. A great place to spend a few nights relaxing when on the road. Very friendly folks. Grocery and several farm stands nearby. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $18.00
Nice CG, paved roads and sites. All utilities worked fine, good Verizon cell phone and hotspot and CG WiFi. Rooftop dish worked as trees did not interfere. Back in carefully, a little tight for longer rigs especially if neighbor site across the street has vehicle & RV in their site. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Fine campground. We enjoyed our stay. Quiet with a minimum of noise. Water hookups a tad far and inner roads could have been a bit wider but that is nitpicking. The price was right and it is on our list of campgrounds to revisit. Bring cash or checkbook as they don't take credit cards but we knew that going in. Showers were in private individual rooms which was very nice as you had plenty of room to put your 'stuff'. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
What a jewel! This small intimate campground is located just east of Bay City. The lots were large, even though they were all back-in. The office staff was friendly. Many seasonal campers, but everyone was friendly. It was great to be in the country and not have freeway noise. The boat launch and trail are well kept. The nature trail was also nice. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $19.00
Another fantastic county park. Good access road, paved interior roads, level cement pads. Good 50 amp power and water pressure. No height problems for taller rigs. There is a small playground and plenty of room to walk your dog. Nice nature trails. Verizon is good, but the WI-FI in this park is excellent. All parks should have Wi-Fi like this one. For us, this park is a 10! We will camp here again. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park. Sites are reasonably sized, level concrete pads. Interior roads paved. Verizon cell and MiFi excellent. Lovely walking path out to Saginaw Bay. Out in the country; however convenient to everything. This was a bargain. Price should be around $25.00 per night when compared to similar type parks we have been to around the country. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Paved roads, concrete pads, neatly trimmed grass, and trees lend an air of suburban attraction to this park. Utilities, including Wi-Fi, worked well. Many sites are satellite friendly and over the air TV stations were available. The park was very full but quiet and peaceful. We would be happy to stay here again. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is and excellent Township-owned campground. We reserved a 50 amp full hookup site and were very pleased at our selection. (Check out their very informative website). Our site was very large in width and in length, with paved parking for both motor home and car. Very well maintained grass on each side but had no shade on our site (No.48). We had excellent cell phone and MiFi service. Our friends made their reservation late and were not able to get 50 service but had an excellent shady site nearby with equal attributes, but with 30 amp service. Overall, this campground was impeccably well maintained from our viewpoint and we definitely will return again. Unfortunately, we had an emergency electrical problem in our motor home and had to drive to Grand Rapids to have it repaired so we only stayed 1 day out of our 4 day reservation. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2012 - $16.00
Very nice park near the waterfront of Saginaw Bay. Large paved area for RV and patio. Only limited sites with 50-amp power but our 30-amp site was just fine. Well tended grounds and a nice quiet atmosphere. Walking trail out to the bay is paved most of the way. We stayed here a week and had a great time. Wonderful for a county/township park. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a very nice, quiet, well maintained park. Level sites with pads, paved roads, nice large grassy area between sites. Great for the price. I'm giving a 9 because of no laundry. Be sure to have a lot of hose to get to your water hookup. I needed every inch of 50 feet. We camped at Finn Road Park Campground in a Motorhome.
