Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground with tons of things for the kids though at KOA prices. I do not deduct any points for this but do think it is silly to charge campers for putt putt as many campgrounds offer it for free. They have the bikes, basketball, horseshoes and tumble area. There are literally tons if things for kids to do. The wifi has 2 gig and 5 gig speed and there are access towers all around the campground lot for great speeds. There were only a 15 other campers when we were here so naturally the speeds were great. With so many access points though I would believe the speed would be good all the time. The cable tv was easy to reach and showed up great on the tv as some campgrounds we have been at, the picture was better when I was kid in the 70's over the air. Our site was large and level right next to the walk way to the showers. The sewer hook up was high enough so our hose led straight in and not on an up hill angle. lots are sand with patches of grass as this is "up north" under the shade of pine trees so what would one expect. Every night we sat out with fire and listened to the coyotes and owls as road noise was minimal. The restrooms and showers clean though we did use the showers and the are very nice and accommodating. The staff we found was friendly with a well stocked store at campground prices. In town is a large penned area for elk, take the kids its free and a nice spot for lunch. One last thing, I am very impressed with the staff. It had rained for sevarl days before we arrived late at night. The roads, which are dirt, were pocked mark with deep water. The very next day early in the morning with a forecast of sunny sky skies, the staff emptying the water and grading the road. Very proactive crew. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

For the cachers, we did some close caches but really used this campground as a jump point for the surrounding counties to finish our county cache crusade. However do a search for favorites with 20 fav points or more in a 100 mile radius. there may not be many caches but the quality is overwhelming. The pads at the sites are narrow. We parked as far to one side as we could and still our slide opened up against the branches of a pine tree. But we had full hook up with cable. The WiFi worked the best of any park I've been in. They had little towers scattered throughout the park. Very family friendly. Lots for kids to do. Laundry was small but clean. $1.5 for a washer and 1.50 for 50 minutes on the dryer. Enjoyed walking on the hiking/biking trails. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Good campground for big rigs. There are two loops which may be fairly new. Some are pull thrus and others back in. The nice part is that there are sites on only one side of the loop so there is a sense of roominess as there aren't any rigs right in front of the front window. Wifi is excellent. Electric excellent. There is room between the sites with a picnic table and fire ring. Easy maneuverability for 45 motorhome. The sites in other parts of the campground are a little closer. Nice pool, bathrooms and pet area. It is a little bit off the interstate heading north but closer heading south. No road noise. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very well run KOA located in a beautiful wooded area. Our pull thru (#127) was probably the only one in the park with satellite access. It was very long, could have fit another 40 ft fiver and truck! Everything worked well and drained after a rain. The wifi was excellent and staff told us that they can boost the signal when very busy. There are all kinds of activities and amenities for families here and several golf courses are close by. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Level sites and big rig friendly. Showers were great with water pressure and hot water. Laundry was good. Wifi was slow. Verizon is very weak in the area and my calls would get disconnected while talking which was very frustrating. No activities at the campground other than swimming pool. Gaylord is a nice small town. Walmart was 6 miles. Not a lot to do in the area.

As with all older KOAs the spaces are a little narrow, however they are rapidly bringing on new deluxe sites with all the KOA amenities.

Very pleasant staff and a beautiful setting. We spent three days here to catch up on our washing (fantastic laundry) and to

recharge our personal batteries. Very quiet. We'll certainly return. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We haul a 38 foot fifth wheel, and had no problem in navigating the dirt roads to a pull-thru site in the back of the park (by the seasonals). We watched a motorhome on a Freightliner chassis, pulling a garage, come and go during our visit. This is an excellent KOA, with friendly staff and a good laundry. Good WiFi, and good 4G Verizon, but no T-Mobile access. Quiet RV park. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is not big rig friendly. We were in a 45ft motorhome with a 20ft trailer. They told us, no problem. Problem is this park is not for big rigs of any kind. Too many trees, 90 degree turns, poor street markings. Upon arrival, greeter was rude. Upon departure, I was walking our motorhome out, moving unnecessary steel fence posts. We managed to scrape the side of the motorhome on a stop sign. The greeter/parker then showed up and started a lecture about how bad drivers we were, etc. Terribly rude. I would never stay there again. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park outside town. Plenty of trees, lots of grass. We stayed in a full-hookup site near the seasonal sites and enjoyed ourselves. Very friendly campers. We made some new friends, even though we were just passing through. Staff was very helpful and even talked me through backing in to the site. Nice facilities, they are working hard at updating campground. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Travel Trailer.

One of the best KOA's I have stayed in. Owners live on site and work really hard to maintain and develop their facilities and amenities. Very friendly staff, wonderful treed setting, great facilities. Hard to beat this one! We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Motorhome.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds were clean and well maintained. We didn't use the showers or restrooms as it was pouring down rain. There is little grass and/or gravel at most of the sites, or I would have given the campground a 10. A very nice place. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Motorhome.

There are too many trees so there is no satellite reception. The roads are dirt and sites with a little grass here and there. I had to wash the dirt off all my hoses and cables when I left. Sites now have sewer connections and wifi worked good. They say there were 5 TV stations in range but I could not get any. It is hard to find as there are no signs until you are 1/4 mile away. I would not stay here again. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Motorhome.

This is our first RV trip so I may have been expecting more. Campground staff was friendly and helpful. All woods, dirt, gravel sites (was expecting level concrete pads for my 34 ft 5th wheel) Also did not read the web page closely and thought they had sewer hook up, all they have is gray water dump. Had to pull the trailer to their dump station prior to leaving. Campground was quiet, had good WI-FI connecton. The bath house was clean, did not use their showers so can't comment on hot water. Overall, a good place to stop overnight when traveling. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Usual KOA cleanliness and friendly staff. Lots of trees, birds, squirrels. Good hiking trails. Great group areas away from main camping and lots of comfortable kamping kabins. Nice laundry room, bathrooms, and pool. Cycle rentals for the kids, volleyball, miniature golf, basketball, and rec rooms. Close enough to Mackinac Island ferries but much cheaper than other campgrounds that are closer. Solid wifi. Walmart nearby. Lots of families every weekend having plenty of fun. We camped at Gaylord KOA in a Travel Trailer.
