Avoiding State Park vehicle fees this was an option. Not a normal RV Park since it had many tent campers. Was more like someone's big grassy backyard with a circle gravel/dirt driveway. Center sites were like a pull through (like a wagon train circle) while outer sites backed in. We had a nice view of the bathhouse and our front door and awning were facing close to the dusty driveway. Nice older gentleman. Probably would not use again. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Motorhome.

WE enjoy staying at this park when passing through the area. Seney Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a neat place to visit. The campground also offers Canoe and Kayak trips on the river that flows by it. The only negative this year was the work on the highway that goes by it. It is very quiet and we had great reception on our Dish satellite. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Truck Camper.

This park is only 10 minutes off of highway 2 on the UP (upper peninsula)...so if you are traveling over the top of Michigan...this works really well. We were traveling from WI to St. Ignace. This is a small rustic, old-school family campground and it is right on the river. We pulled in late in the evening and rented tubes in the morning and had the most wonderful time. You can use your own tubes...we only had one, so we rented 3 more and my husband and the kids hopped in the river at the campground, I drove down the road and picked them up 45 minutes later. It was the perfect activity before we hopped back on the road (tube rentals are $10 each). Showers were nice and hot after being in the river. We would definitely do this again! We also had a convenient W/E pull-up site (basically parallel parking in a half-moon shape that was convenient). We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed here many times over the years and have found this park very helpful and friendly.

We arrived after hours and they were very good in letting us choose whatever site we wanted that was open. There is no TV reception and no cable here but it is not a big deal to us. They also rent canoes and kayaks here. There is some road noise but it is very little.

We will come here again. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Truck Camper.

We had such a great time , owners made us feel like family. We are headed back just to visit and meet with others we met there. Great place, safe for kids to play and ride bike. The sites were sand and grass with picnic table and fire ring. Can't wait to return. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Fifth Wheel.

OK if you need an overnight stay and will not be using the facilities. Bathrooms were so bad I took pictures. No soap, drying devices or towels furnished. Excessive mold in the dark showers was abundant among the cracked concrete blocks. One light bulb for two showers, one shower had a blown bulb. Men's bathroom/showers were just as bad. The park is in a pretty setting but is in a state of decay. The office is dark and not a camp store. The male owner is grumpy, although the Campground Rules paper states, "No. 1 - no frowns allowed!! Any frowns brought in are to be left at the dump station and can be picked up when you leave". Charges for electric heaters or using your air conditioner is $4.00 extra per day. Unfortunately, there is no reason to stay longer than you have to. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Travel Trailer.

The only point losers were the site did not have a picnic table or fire ring. Found the owner to be anything but grumpy. Also found him to be very helpful & accomodating. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Fifth Wheel.

Easy to find. Easy access. Owner greeted us. Pull thru site. Easy drive in. Got 1/2 off with Passport America. Extra $10 to dump. Our cost was $23.50 hmm!! Saw very few FHU's. Laundry OK. Beautiful area. Canoe & kayak livery. Nice clean park. Would return. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Motorhome.

Came for a night and stayed 3. Very friendly management. We were able to use PA 50% discount for 2 nights: rate showed in full rate. Very poor Verizon aircard connectivity as well as both Verizon and At&t phone. Sites were well spaced apart and there were only 3 others parked while we were here. Not too far from the sites in the middle of the UP. We would definitely come back. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Motorhome.

We camped for 8 nights with a group of up to 36. The owners were VERY hospitable and accommodating. They knew everyone's names and were extremely helpful in advising on local attractions. The campground is centrally located to many of the U.P.'s attractions and even to lesser known ones that we were informed about. The kids play area is nice and well kept, showers and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. Prices are fair with ice, wood and goodies available. Kayak's and canoe's are in good shape and the river trip was awesome! Not a single person in our group was less than thrilled about the campground, sites, facilities, amenities and location. We would happily return and we suggest you go as well! Tell them the group from South Haven says: HI! We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Tent Trailer.

This is a nice place, I enjoyed it and would stay there again. I have a residence in the area and camped here for a few days in the summer of 2007 due to a personal situation. It is centrally located and allows for day trips to Pictured Rocks National Park, Tahquamenon Falls State Park and Big Spring State Park. Seney National Wildlife Refuge is about five miles to the north. The lady who owns the place was very friendly and helpful. She is also a real estate agent so if you are in the market for property in the area, she is the one to see. The sites are larger than most places I've camped. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Motorhome.

A pleasant campground on the bank of a small river. All sites are on grass and most are well shaded. Canoes and kayaks are available for rent but there is a noticeable current in the river. Very quiet spot, nice playground for children and the washroom is excellent. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Motorhome.

Nice park in an excellent location. We recently stayed 4 nights and found this to be a convenient location to explore the "UP". The park itself is clean and quiet, with pleasant owners and park hosts. Canoe rentals are available on site and some sites have a great view overlooking the river. Seney National Wildlife Refuge is only minutes away by car, slightly longer yet still accessible by canoe and an excellent place to visit. Lake Superior's Painted Rocks and Shipwreck Museum are about an hour away. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Travel Trailer.
