1 Park near Grand Marais, Michigan
Oct 2015 - $30.00
Very friendly! Weakness: This is a first come first served park. No reservations. If you call ahead they can tell you if any spots are available.
Strengths: Beautiful park right on Lake Superior with a fantastic beach. Grand Marais is a quaint little Northeast looking town.

Check in was a little confusing as the person was not sure how to proceed to get into our site. We actually walked down to the site to determine which way we should enter. It was a back in which was a little tight, but satisfactory. All hook ups are at the rear so make sure you have extra hoses. The sites were resonably level, with hard packed gravel. There was a table and firepit. - Al and Anne-Marie

If you are still looking for that Shangri-La in the UP, think again. Grand Marais has been found! The campground still will not create a reservation system which leaves you with the big 25 mile gamble. In their eyes everyone is a winner - nobody turned away - even if that means sitting in a field with no hookups. Some staff seemed to be really annoyed to answer simple questions. Practice the game of site shuffle to get what you really want. If you really want to come to see Grand Marais, I would recommend staying somewhere else and making this place a day trip. My least favorite campground in the UP but find myself forced to use this mismanaged campground for family reasons. - Pirate
