Very nice setting on with mature trees and a nice pond. We enjoyed a couple of nice walks. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was very peaceful. Many of the units are long term and no one was around while we stayed mid week. We had full hook up and everything was convenient and worked well. Our site was #17. It was a very long pull through with lots of room. It was gravel. It was level! The site had a cement pad near our door with a picnic table. We had a well placed fire ring which we used. It is close to I-94 and that is good and bad. It is easy to get on and off I-94 but the tire noise is constant. Because the campground is in a bit of a valley with many mature trees making a barrier between it and I-94 the truck noise was just a hum. My wife said it was the worst shower ever. She likes lots of hot water under pressure. The pressure was low and it took forever to get hot. I showered in the RV so I have no opinion on the showers. Nice club house with a library, and clothes washer and dryer. We plan on returning again. It is a good spot for us to stay while seeing doctors in Ann Arbor. (about 30 minutes away) We did not venture out to shop but there are many choices within 5 miles or so for restaurants, fuel, food, etc. We camped at Hideaway RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very close to Jackson, MI many stores and eating within 5 miles of the campground. Fire wood, laundry, library all at club house. No store or vending machines so be loaded up when you pull in.

Overall Rating:

Nice quiet park. Large spacious lots. Everyone is friendly. Trails to walk, fishing, paddleboats. Roads are compacted dirt and rock. Wide roads. Very open and spacious. It is dark at night and most campers leave their exterior lights on. A very nice place to relax and get away from the daily grind. We camped at Hideaway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Close to the 94 and you can just hear a hum of the traffic. I think it would be less noise when the trees are in leaf. Friendly staff. We are newbies and they made us feel right at home. Staff was helpful and checked in on us after an hour of being there. It was early in the season so not many campers. We had our pick of the many available sites. We camped at Hideaway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very well maintained and friendly people - both management and campers. We have a 42' fifth wheel (20K lbs) and they have sites long enough for our rig and truck to fit nicely. There is a small lake in the center of this park with seasonal residence sites spaced nicely throughout the park (around the lake, lake view, and other choices). Longer rvs and short visit stays are usually on pull though sites that also enjoy a lake view but are facing (although offset by patio spacing). Trees between the pull through sites can interfere with awnings but were not a problem for our roof mounted satellite. We have stayed here several times and this layout has not bothered us. There are walking trails and the park is very dog friendly. We like to stay here when visiting family in the area. We camped at Hideaway RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Cascades park in Jackson has a colorful water falls with dancing waters and concessions. And, don't forget to try one of the signature coney island hot dogs at Virginia Lunch (originator location) or Jackson Coney Island.

This is one of our favorite camp sites. Management respects everyone that respects the park. You can't drive through with getting a dozen hand waves. Quite, clean and very well maintained with new hook-ups and a community effort from seasonals to make the park a very pleasant place to stay. No tents allowed. If you object, there are a lot of rowdy campgrounds nearby that do allow tents. We camped at Hideaway RV Park in a Motorhome.
