Wilson State park is right on Budd Lake and is very popular. There are quite a few people who come to the lake for the day. The camp was very full when we were there. It is right in the village of Harrison so if you need anything there are stores near by. Although the camp was full it was quiet. Dump station in the park. We camped at Wilson State Park in a Truck Camper.

The campsites are relatively large and nicely shaded with a mix of level and not. The swimming beach is pleasant, although busy on a busy weekend. There is no wifi. There's adequate Verizon and ATT coverage. We camped at Wilson State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a nice 4-mile walk around the lake and town is an easy half mile walk from the campground.

Note the campground is across the street from the Clare County Fairgrounds. You may want to check events that you may or may not enjoy. We could hear the demolition derby from our campsite.

Too many steps to get to the beach. As a handicapped camper, I was disappointed that I couldn't get to the beach. Nor, could I find a handicapped shower. Otherwise, our stay was pleasant. We camped at Wilson State Park in a Travel Trailer.

$22 per night was for 20/30 amp electric only. MI requires non-residents to purchase an annual recreation passport for $30.50 (which we had done at a previous MI state park) plus $6.30 for a vehicle pass for each park, which was good for our week long stay. This park has a local highway along the west side and a lake along the east side. Spacing between sites was roomy and most sites were level. All sites are hard-packed dirt, which allows you to park in any direction. All sites have shade. Water is available throughout the park and the dump station is centrally located. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well lit. Recreational opportunities are available in the park as well as in the local area. The beach was nice. It is under a mile into town where Wi-Fi is available at the library and McDonalds as AT&T cell service was just full bars of Edge. We camped at Wilson State Park in a Motorhome.
