Nice park with big green space for kids to play. Very friendly people and very nice staff. We would stay again. The only reason they didn't get a 10 was no discount. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

We came in at the end of their season . Although I saw wounded warrior plaques they do not off discounts. Had horse shoe stakes installed, the pit was not set up. All other items were put away. They offer cable TV, but I would have stayed home for that. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Park suffers with lack of maintenance. Many things have small problems which make the overall stay less than desirable. Power bad in hot long holiday weekends on this string. Keeps blowing the main 100 amp breaker. The campground manager makes up her own rules as she goes. Some people are allowed in with a certain breed of dog while others with the same breed are denied. Pool is big and nice but closes early if the manager wants to go to bed early or kids get too loud and it affects the owners weekly geriatric country music jam that never changes and campers don't go too anyway. Events are run by seasonal campers and lack planning and execution. We stayed all summer and won't return till the park is under new management. Just look at their web site. Rarely updated with no activities listed. There is little or no maintenance budget at they have a hard time attracting seasonal campers. Grass goes un-mowed. Gravel pads flood and have weeds growing through them. Park suffers with a bad reputation in the town of Ionia and people don't want to work there. Wi-Fi rarely works. Don't post a bad review on their site or it's immediatly removed. Rates went up to $41 a night last year and $3,150 for a 6 month seasonal. This is a lot of money for what you get. Park is Ok for an overnight stay but definitely not a seasonal. There is a reason that other parks have huge waiting lists and this park has tons of availability except on holidays. Buyers beware !!! We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here before and were disappointed this year to find that the sites have not been taken care of as we remembered. All the sites and roads are gravel which is fine. However, many of the sites and raod edges are overrun with grass and weeds to the to the extent that for some, it is becoming hard to differentiate between the gravel and adjacent turf. Drainage after a rain also appears to be a problem with standing water.

All the facilities such as the pool, office, etc., are beautiful and show excellent care and presentation. Staff at check in were very helpful.

I hope they can get back on track with the grounds keeping and drainage. We shall see. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Best thing about this place was the nearby town of Ionia, MI, with some interesting, old architecture and a still-surviving old downtown. Although the structures at the park (pool, shelter house, camp store/office, bath house) are clean and newer, everything else here is just 'average'. Gravel interior roads, sites were formerly gravel, but our site was mostly just grass, and an average distance from the neighbor's site. There is very little shade, but they do have some trees that will mature.

They did have an ice cream counter, which was nice on the first night, but on the second night, we went to get a little treat about fifteen minutes before closing and the lights were off inside, and we heard the clerk announce to some kids that they "should not start playing video games, 'cause she was gettin' ready to close", so we took that as a sign that she'd already washed the ice cream scoops, too. Also, it was clear they didn't have any inside firewood storage, as when I asked if they had any dry firewood (it had rained buckets), I was soundly laughed at; shame on me for not knowing that they store all their firewood UNCOVERED.

The place looked to be 50% seasonals (some VERY nice, some not so much...), and mostly locals, at that; lots of driving in and out by same vehicles. There are a LOT of kids, as the park sort of caters to that. On the plus side, cable is good, 4g LTE on ATT is good, good water pressure, the park is close to shopping, local restaurants, has easy access to interstate, interior roads are wide. So, weighing the good and the bad, it's just sort of 'average'. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Lamplight Inn in downtown Ionia is great! Good food and Michigan craft beers in an old brick building.

We chose this park to bring our grandkids to for a few days. It has a beautiful large pool with a large 1 foot area for babies. The kiddos really enjoyed themselves in the pool. They have a number of bounce slides that are usually wet so best enjoyed with swimsuits. The large bounce house was uninflated during our stay during the near constant wind. The arcade was unimpressive. Roads are gravel as are the sites and there is no shade. I wish they would pave the roads so it is quieter and less dusty when people leave but that is the way it is. They are working around the lake to extend sites out there and will have a number of pull through sites.

We got there an hour before check in and it was a big problem for the check in receptionist even though the park was half empty. It turns out you should pay three dollars an hour for an earlier arrival. She never told me the rate - I looked it up on the paper work. It is not on their website so who would know. Most campsites have been been fine with an earlier arrival as long as the site is empty. It wasn't the best welcome. Landscaping was very pretty and well cared for. We would try it again sometime. Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Ionia is lovely and historic looking. There is extensive shopping nearby, WalMart, Meijer, fast food restaurants. A farmers market is held weekly.

Our visit at Alice Springs RV Park was very pleasant. Even though they did not have 'pull through' sites, our assigned gravel site was extremely spacious, well maintained and included a fire ring and picnic table. The staff was courteous and friendly. The campers around the entire grounds were polite as well. We would certainly come back in future travels to central Michigan. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Only stayed a couple days. Sites were very large. Power was good. It was late in the season for this place, mostly empty sites. It is a very clean and well groomed area. I am a long time resident of this area so it was nice to come back . I just believe that the price is high for what was offered. Perhaps earlier in the season there would be more to offer? I have stayed here twice. After full-time RVing with a family for 15 months, I have to say that this is the BEST family RV park that I have come across. All of the facilities look new. Are there "some things that could be better"? Maybe the sites could be asphalt instead of gravel. Maybe the rec facilities could be closer to the camp sites instead of totally segregated, but, really.. They have nice stuff at a reasonable rate. It is right off the highway, but they have built up a big hill of grass to block the view and sound. I had one office employee that had a chip on her shoulder about kids being unsupervised when I reported the bounce house had a busted seam. After being in campgrounds, I can see where she would have this prejudice, but the tear was clearly wear of sun and use, not vandalism. However, when she called the owner, the owner had the seam repaired first thing in the morning. The place is clean and has a ton of amenities. We were even able to stream a movie on Wi-Fi. Plus: cable TV, pool, hot tub, bounce house, playgrounds, shuffleboard, mini golf, kayak and paddle boat rentals, game room, homemade ice cream and pizza for sale. Passport America rate is good for 1/2 off one night and then $39 a night after that. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park does accept Passport America for one night for a stay during the week. Park is very spacious and nicely maintained. Very nice office/store pool complex. Appears park was built to attract seasonals but has not gotten the response. Only a few seasonals currently in park. All sites are back-in. They are long enough, fairly level and have lots of room around them. Roads to sites are gravel as are the sites. Everything else is grass with some trees around (small). WiFi is free and worked great during our stay. My opinion is the park is over priced and should have some pull thru sites, especially if their seasonal plan is not working out. Overall a very nice park and a good stop over to visit the area. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped and spent the night in route. Beautiful office, rest rooms and pool - outstanding. It is in a bit of a field and there is a fair amount of highway noise. The spots were gravel and level. Overall it is a very nice facility. We would definitely stay there again. Rate reflected Passport. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is basically a large parking lot. They've planted trees and some day they will be nice, but for now there is no shade. There are a few seasonal sites, but they are nicely maintained. They offer a lot of amenities here including one of the largest campground pools we've ever seen. They also have shuffleboard courts, horse shoes, playground equipment for kids, a rustic miniature golf course and a small lake. The laundry is excellent and reasonable. We have family near by so this is our 4th stay here, but for us one of the big draws is nearby Ionia. Very nice little city with a great bicycle trail along the Grand River by the Fairgrounds. Several really good restaurants and shops here, too. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here at the beginning of the season in freezing weather. This place is set up to be very family friendly. Bounce House, Playground, Shuffle Board, Mini-golf, Swimming Pool, Hot tub, Lake w/ Kayaks, Billards, Hay rides, Live music, etc. We used none of that. It was freezing. The host was friendly and did not charge us for our 5 kids. She allowed us to check in early and check out late. They gave the kids coloring pages and chatted briefly about the baby birds. All of their stuff is nice, but is starting to show wear. Especially the kids stuff that the maintenance staff would not see. For example, the playground has a screw that is coming loose, a broken swing, and a bird's nest with baby chicks at the top of the slide. The bounce house has a strap broken and hanging near the basketball hoop. Minor stuff like that. We walked through the bathroom and shower house and they were big and clean, but unused at this point. I cannot comment on how well they are maintained if the sites are full. The Wi-Fi works great in the morning and slows WAY down in the evenings and is unusable if too many people are using it at once. I'll just say that it would cost me $39 to let my 5 kids jump in a bounce house at a carnival and they got it all to themselves as much as the wanted here (at least until the wind got to strong and it had to be deflated) I would recommend this campsite. We camped at Alice Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
