A small park within the little town of Iron River. Sites are asphalt and level with a bit of shade, only stayed 1 night on our way elsewhere. Did think however that the cost was a bit high for what we got, but it was summer! We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

What a great setting for an RV Park. It is located behind the Chamber of Commerce and that's where you check in. So, in addition to getting the park info on check in, you get great info and advise about seeing the area and where to go for the things you might need. When the Chamber office is closed, a park host is right there at the entrance to help you. In addition, it is a very small park and feels cozy. There is a nature trail on one side of the park and a snowmobile road on the other side. The nature trail is a part of the area's history and it runs beside the Iron River. Add to all of this that you are just a few steps from the little downtown of Iron River. This is a great place and I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We had planned to stay 2 weeks here visiting the area and friends that live in town . One week into our stay and we had problems with our truck. We had it down in a diesel repair shop in WI for over a week. We had to rent a car and couldn't move our 5th wheel. We had to ask staff for help to stay longer to get time to get the truck issue resolved. The staff was so kind during our struggles. We wound up staying for 1 month and during the frustration we just bought a new truck. The folks that were supposed to get our camp site camped next to us, and were very gracious and understanding. We wound up becoming friends with them also. This is a small campground with nice level and very spacious sites. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The campground is kept very clean within walking distance from town and nice bike/hiking trail. The campground hosts were a young couple that also went out of their way to be friendly and helpful in every case. Both my wife and I plan to return next year to this campground it's a gem. We used our own dish network for TV and we used the campground WIFI that worked pretty good 90% of the time. Cant say enough good about this campground. We had Verizon cell and had rock solid signal for data and voice. We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Have stayed here at least 4 times. Beautiful park! Only reason for 3 stars on cleanliness is: drove in and first thing we saw was host site with two lines of laundry hanging, uneven stacks of lumber, just kind of junky looking. So surprising. Great bike path. Only interruption in quiet is an atv path behind sites that only got much use in evening and weekend. Lots of cable tv channels. However our cable box didn't work. Had to use a splitter and use site next door. The office attendant said nothing was wrong. Wi-Fi. available. Host needs to straighten out his "stuff"! We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Small town, some businesses boarded up like many small towns. Great grocery stores. One new market and an older Jubilee with good service and great price on steaks. Bike paths around town. Colonel Sanders across street. McDonald's down the block. Golf course which we didn't get a chance to play.

We had only planned to spend one night at this location while traveling through the upper peninsula of Michigan. The staff and campground was so nice we ended up using it as a "pivot" point and spent a total of 3 individual nights during our travels. We stayed on 2 different sites, both with full hookup including cable tv. The only problem we had with the campground sites was the sewer hookup on one of them. It was in the back of the site and higher than the sewer outlet on my unit. We ended up using the dump station instead. We enjoyed walking through the little town and eating at a pizza restaurant recommended by the staff at the campground. Overall a great stop if in the area. We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Pleasently surprised as there was only one current review. We called to check availability but this is owned by the city so no one in office on weekends to confirm availability. We took a chance and drove on through. There is a "host couple" who live on grounds and they check you in. Level paved sites with full hook ups, strong WiFi, cell reception and cable TV! Only back in sites in this park. Walk to nice pizza place and small down town area. We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This. Is a gem of a campground! We stayed here in a class B MH with no slides or toad. Site was concrete surrounded by finely manicured lawn. Dump at site was far back so we had to back onto grass to dump - but okay - since we stayed here only 1 night, only had to do it once. Location is almost right downtown near all stores, etc. The woman who checked us in was super nice and knowledgeable. We would stay here again. We picked a site with all hookups because we could get cable and we hadn't seen TV in quite a while - thus the $39 vs $31 with no dump but no cable. We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Finally had a pasty - didn't know what they were - found they were the food that miners used while "under". At The Pastry Place. Nearby gas stations with diesel and lots of other shopping.

Came here after reading reviews. Everything good is true. Beautiful setting with large spacious sites. Great free Wi-Fi, 30 amp service, sewer and cable TV at my site. One site has cable TV water and 30 amp for less money and a number of sites have water and 30 amp service for even less money. Close to town but very quiet and no road or train noise. A very nice place. Well maintained. Walk to the small downtown in 5 minutes where there are restaurants, bars and an IGA grocery store. WiFi is okay, but not great (slows to a crawl at times). Campsites near the road pickup the free WiFi from the hotel across the street, which is fast. Verizon and AT&T signals are strong. We intended to stay one night but ended up staying four because it was so comfortable. Most sites have cable TV. We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

We would liked to have stayed for 4-5 days but didn't have the time this trip. Host was very accommodating when my husband wanted to change sites for more shade. Large, level, paved sites. Large amount of well groomed grass between sights. Convenient to town. Some full hookup sites, some electric and water. Most sights have cable. Verizon service 5 bars. Sites 1-8, 23-26, & 28-32
(Water, sewer, electric and cable) $35/ day.
Sites 9-22 (water & electric) $26/day
Site 27 (water, electric and cable) $29/day
RV wash/vehicle wash $10
Free Wi-Fi
Wood for sale $6.00/bundle
Sites have picnic tables and fire pits. All parks should be this good. Only negative: no pull thru's. We were here in a 39 ft motor home. We camped at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park (The Iron River RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Nice little campground, nice people and a good place to relax. The bike or walking trail to Caspian is at the back of the campground and is 2.5 miles. Iron River is a quiet little town where the 2-3 local eating places don't open until 4 pm. We stayed a couple of days because it was so peaceful. Sometimes being away from the noise is the best place to be. We did not see showers or bathrooms. We would stop here again. We have stayed here now for several years and will keep staying here when we return to the area. Park has all the amenities one could ask for in a small but well maintained park. Area is has plenty of things to see and do but require you to drive around to get to them. Shopping is limited, but groceries and laundry are close by. This is a small but very nice park. The roads as well as the sites are paved. There is good space between the sites and the hook ups were good. The Wi-Fi and cable TV were both excellent. There was an great walking path right next to the park which made the stay enjoyable. There isn't much in town to see but this is a hidden gem. We would definitely stay here again.
