Very happy with the stay, will recommend to others. Waterfront access to Sebewaing River and out to Saginaw Bay. Great area, and very friendly people. - Michigan Man Forever
Jun 2011 - $24.00
This was our second summer staying here, the park is clean, the sites are grassy (you can not hardly find that anywhere else) and the showers and bathrooms are clean, We plan on going back next June and maybe staying a month. This park is more for people who like to fish as you can get right to the Saginaw Bay from the river. - campergirl58

Arrived at 2p.m. July 18th 2010. The office was closed there was a sign on the door to call a number which we called an got a answer machine. The park was 50% empty so we decided to take a site away from anyone an backed in, no sooner got backed in an a truck came with a gentleman in it, saying the office would be opened later an did you have a reservation? No reservation we were just traveling. Less than ten minutes another gentleman showed up asking do you have a reservation we said no just passing through. Sometime later around 6 p.m. another person came to my door i own the campground i live in that trailer on site 2. I will be there in my trailer or in the office later but he wouldn't take any money from me then we had to go to the office. About 20 minutes later i had to go find him at his trailer and meet him at the office back at the front of the park to pay for a nights stay. Found out he had a camp host but he couldn't collect the money only the owner can collect money. It is a very nice campground large spaces but you spend most of your time trying to find the boss to pay your bill an was told that we prefer you make a reservation so we know you are coming. We don't think we will be back to the campground due to we don't make reservations because we never know where we will be going. The train came through and was a hour doing his thing whistles an slamming cars at 11:30p.m. we left early in the morning an never looked back. unhappy customer! - wheretootraveler

This is a very nice family friendly park with tons of kids and activities for them. Understand, there are fees for a lot of their activities of $5 per day but that gets them access to the indoor pool, the jump pillow, miniature golf, etc and it seemed like a good deal. Lots of family groups seemed to be staying there and many of them seemed to know each other and they were very friendly.
The entrance road contains a 1 lane bridge so there can be a bottleneck, though we never had any delay at all. - Meyer Camping
Aug 2017 - $65.00
Very close to large beach on Lake Huron. Nice beach café with good food and service. Patios available for large group gatherings. Lots close to level but sand and dirt. Have some low hanging branches on tress, cause roof damage. - T_I_S_H
Jul 2015 - $60.00
When we got there someone was still in our spot even though it was well after checkout. They were full and had to track him down which killed a couple hours. I would suggest they check spots to make sure people have left after check out time. They were very nice but it did kill a couple hours.
Other than that you are right on the beach, the site as a mix of sand and grass. Awesome location and they have really fixed the place up over the last couple years. The seasonal spots are in a different area. It is within an easy walk to the Diary Queen at the entrance and into town. The city had a band at the entrance to the park on the Saturday night. Overall a nice park, especially for a county park. Definitely a bit high on the price though. - Novi MI
Jul 2014 - $30.00
The campsites were level and the access to utilities was OK. The campground has a huge beach. Our campsite was one row down from the beach and we had a good view of the water. We had bad weather when we were there, so spent time exploring the town on foot, which was fun. The campground was very easy to find and drive through. - ShoreXplorers
Aug 2018 - $32.00
We stayed at site #158 in the older section backing onto the woods. Lots of nature and fairly quiet except for the numerous dogs. Most owners tried to keep their dogs from barking insanely but I noticed the campground staff did very little too keep the noise level down. Bathroom is older but staff did a pretty good job keeping in clean. I liked the park and will return someday. - jbondy2
Aug 2018 - $32.00
One of the best State Parks we've ever stayed in. Exceptionally clean!!! The Ranger was out picking up cigarette butts!! Rude people throwing them down!! No TV reception but excellent WiFi. We stayed in site 139 in a 37' motorhome. Nice lots of all different sizes. Bridge walkway over M25 to the beautiful sandy beach. Some lots shady some sunny....whatever you want! We will definitely be back here. - GrannyJ
Jun 2017 - $27.00
Very nice state park. Friendly people in the office. We noticed low points on some sites when it rained for couple days. Electric only sites. - Paul B
Sep 2011 - $23.00
This was our first trip to this campground and we really enjoyed it. The campground is nicely wooded with shady sites. Our site was not level, however we bring proper equipment to level the camper out and this was not an issue for us. The bathrooms were very clean and showers were clean with nice hot water. This particular weekend was Halloween weekend. They had many activities, contests, site-to-site trick or treating, haunted house, haunted hayride, etc. And, you do not need a fat wallet to stay here! If the activities were not free, it was a reasonable and well justified fee. Other campers are very friendly and staff very accommodating. Would recommend and will return. - Mr & Mrs Smith
Aug 2010 - $25.00
What a find! Our friends who live nearby recommended this park to us and we’re so glad they did. We could only spend a couple of nights, but we enjoyed it so much we wish we could have stayed longer. Camp hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Our site was level and spacious enough for our 40-footer and Jeep. The day use park along the lake is just steps away, making this bargain spot extra scenic. We won’t say any more because we want to be able to have a spot available when we return! - RockyandBullwinkle
Jul 2009 - $38.00
This is the second time that we have been here. It seems to be all about the seasonals. We showed up to a site that was under water (and they knew it, because one of the seasonals who was hanging around the front office said he was waiting to see who would get that site). We had to go back and ask to be moved. We were then moved to a site that was so small that we couldn't fit, and it required over 150 feet of power and water cable (I do carry 50 with me). The third site that they gave us was ok, until it rained that night and turned into a lake. There were golf carts racing around the park all day and night. People were yelling and screaming till about 1:30am. Then just to top off my weekend, the water didn't work at the dump station to clean up. I will not be going back. - blue_jay
Jul 2009 - $35.00
I have been camping here for about 15 years. I don't miss to many weekends. I have a permanent camp site here. My children have grown up here and now my grandchildren are enjoying the park. They have a lot of different events for the kids. They have a heated pool and I find the staff very friendly. They also have a game room and a playground. - sue lot 36
Jun 2009 - $35.00
Bathrooms are not clean at all, camp staff are incompetent, and all the golf carts race around like they are nascars. Sites are way to close together, and widely vary in size. If you are lucky you may be able have electricity - depends on how full the campground is. The local & state parks are way nicer - fifthwheelqueen
Sep 2018 - $24.00
This is a lovely small campground with paved back-in sites. Sites are a generous size and there are plenty of trees for privacy and shade. There are a couple of nature trails and a boat ramp for access to the lake. Easy access for big rigs. Very clean and well maintained. Affordably priced. This was our second stay, and we'll be back again. - MrsBowman
Aug 2018 - $24.00
What a gem! It is off the beaten path but worth the drive especially if you can spend a couple of days. - BertD
Aug 2016 - $20.00
Clean campground, friendly people, quiet at night.
Dumpster has been overflowing since the weekend...should be serviced either twice a week or called in when cannot close the lids.
Overall a great campground, would recommend to friends. (Maybe a recycling area for plastic bottles, cans, etc would help alleviate need for extra trash dumping?) - Ana1
Sep 2017 - $27.00
The park is small but the sites are amazing. Hill sites have beautiful views of the lake. Great beach, sandy. Some of the sites are tricky to get your camper level, lots of blocking, slopes or lots of sand. Some of the lakefront sites do not offer a view of the lake. - Tracer230
Aug 2012 - $24.00
This is a very well maintained state park in a great location. Beautiful sandy beach, playground for the kids, beachfront sites available, some with cement pads. The staff was very friendly. We camped here during Cheeseburger Festival, the campground was full and everyone had their campsites decorated in celebration, it was fun! The shower facilities near our site are in need of updating, however the showers closer to the beach are nicer. The campgrounds are a short drive to Caseville. We will absolutely camp here again. - Rubicon11
Jun 2012 - $27.00
While the campground itself is quite nice, the overall layout of the park is rather peculiar. It is in two distinct sections: one for camping and one for day-use. Most of the options for hiking are at the day-use end, and there is no connecting trail between the two areas, so one must either drive or walk two miles along a busy road. In addition, because dogs are not permitted on the beach, it's not possible to get to the one trail near the camping area with a dog, as getting started requires passing through the beach area to get to the trail head. In summary, this is a good place to camp if you intend to swim or lie on the beach, but not very good if you are interested in hiking. - kvdvirginia
Jun 2017 - $35.00
Camp is not Autism friendly! We stayed here on a very hot weekend in June. Many seasonal campers with an over-abundance of golf carts. While our campsite was level and grassy we were way too close to neighbors on either side. The seasonal camper (who wasn't there) failed to mow their site and left their crank out extended to the point we had trouble extending our awning. Picnic table was significantly smaller than those found in recently visited campgrounds. Also lot's of large black ants everywhere we went. We were surrounded by little "barky" dogs. Fire ring consisted of rusty old rim from a semi stacked in the corner of our site with a few others. We were told "Just grab one and put it anywhere." The first night as we dropped off to sleep (10:30 pm) we were treated to a laser light show & loud music by one of the campers two rows over from us. The second night the camp had karaoke night which was equally awful. We have stayed here a few times in the past due its proximity to Frankenmuth. However, under new management the camp seems to have lost its charm. Unfortunately, we will not return Berwagana. - purpleturtles
Sep 2016 - $16.00
We called to find a site just before a very busy weekend. At first, they said no sites were available but then said there might be something. They called us back a short time later and were able to accommodate us for the week we wanted to be there. They went well above and beyond for us. A great deal using Passport America, - Robert683
Sep 2011 - $32.00
As said before this park has a lot of seasonals but they are in their separate area. Sights were level and grassy. We were here in off season so not many people in the park. Park was clean and check in staff was friendly. Would not want to spend a week here but it was good for 2 nights to be able to sight see the Frankenmuth area. - Colette
