So not big rig friendly. Pull throughs are "buddy style' sites which creates a forced socializing with neighbors. Large rocks throughout park created problems navigating. Narrow drive entering that is partially blocked by people using dump station on one side and low hanging branches on both sides which ran down side of coach. Mentioned to office staff and was told "if you ran down that tree branch then it is your own fault". Pull through sites not large enough for vehicle and required disconnect. Interior roads are gravel. By pass this place. Lack of proper tree trimming, buddy style sites, and large rocks make this awful. See photos. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Absolute dump filled with trashy trailers and trashy people. Tight turns. Dirt roads. I would rather boondock at WalMart. My parking space was filled with tree roots. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

We wanted a quick weekend with grand kids. Cottonwood was close. $39 for 2 Adults and a 3 & 4 and year old. It was over priced for what we got. Our site was level, but we could not have gotten into many others in the park because of incline in to the site. No fire pits but you can have fires on the ground. Playground for kids was OK but equipment was old and would not be installed today due to risk of injury to the kids. Pool was dirty for first two days but was cleaned on third day. Power was fair, but on hot a summer day it would have been a challenge to run both AC's. Extra $10 if you want to check in before 2:00 PM. We would not stay here again. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Unfortunately this is the only campground near to Lansing. We pulled into our site after a very tight turn (where a large boulder by a fence got stuck under a basement door - my bad). The site was barely level and situated as a buddy site with my neighbor less than 20 feet away. No way to open an awning for either of us. Most sites were like this. We will not be back. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We've been here Since July 1st and plan to stay until September 11th. The campground is in a lovely setting amid huge Cottonwood trees. Sure, there is no concrete pads, and not all sites are very level but it's a very pretty setting. My power has been consistently at or near 120 volts, the water is clean and so are the rest rooms and showers. The showers are cleaned twice a day. Power was steady. I blew a breaker one busy weekend when the temp was in the 90's and most everyone had AC on. Power came right back up. Pump outs are on demand. The pump out tractor makes it's rounds each afternoon. Pump outs are $7.00 Mon thru Fri and $10.00 on weekends. I thought this would be inconvenient and expensive but it was not. Sure, on a busy holiday weekend some of the campers are pigs and it gets a bit messy. The campground store and laundry are both excellent. The pool and game room are a nice added feature. The WIFI is strong when it's on. The staff is working on some of the bugs to make it more reliable, but it was on more than it was off. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We have already booked 4 months next summer. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Leo's Lodge is a good restaurant not far from the campground. Kroger's and Meijers are also nearby. Several fast food chains and coffee shops are within a mile also.

One side of road to site had a hairpin turn, so took the longer winding way to site. Gravel streets, grass sites, large trees, rustic, only 3 motorhomes in park. Otherwise campers, tents, 5th wheels, trailers. It rained today, so mud and standing water. Direct TV and antenna would not work, and no cable. Paid $35 for a back in site on water. Was very unlevel, huge trees so no Direct TV or antenna reception. Free wifi. BUT 50 amps showed 110, so power is very weak. No sewer but a water facet that office said was drinkable water. No discounts offered, not even retired military.

Will not stay here again. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy drive to visit Michigan State University, a very colonial style college town with a dramatic ultra modern contemporary museum on campus, a must see.

This is a rural style park in an urban setting. Lots of trees, lots of grass and ponds.

It was rainy when we were there but not necessarily muddy or inconvenient.

Things seemed reasonably clean. This is a no frills park other than what appears to be a nice pool that was being prepared for the season.

Yes, we would stay again if visiting Lansing. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Truck Camper.

First there on 4th of July weekend. Many day visitors and visitors to campers, crowded and loud. Cars parked everywhere, uncontrolled. Bathrooms and showers filthy. Given an unusable site, but later moved. Lake is very small, many mosquitoes. During a later stop, we found the campground much quieter, but restrooms and showers still not very clean. Staff was pleasant, but overwhelmed at times. Campsites were very mixed, most not level, no pads. Many tent campers. Would not stay here again if there were an alternative. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Interior roads are very dusty. The pull-through sites are not level and are weeds and dirt. The main breaker in the pull-through area needs to be replaced. It popped numerous times in the 3 days were were there and it was very hot and humid. The maintenance people are aware they have a problem. The office staff and maintenance people were very helpful and nice. Good place to stop for a short stay. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

This is an old park in a good location. From here you can quickly visit the Capitol and MSU. Lots of trees so you will not be able to use your satellite dish. We had rain and our site flooded. If you are a big rig be sure to have a reservation as there are not many sites into which you can fit. Location and 50 amp service are the highlights of this park. We stayed here for Labor Day weekend and the internet was down for the weekend we were there. I guess they ordered a part two weeks ago. The pinball machines weren't working and the campground will not refund your lost money. The roads are all gravel and dusty. It is on a busy road with road noise. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Spaces we were put in not level, too small for 36' motorhome, way too close to neighbors. Not suitable for big rigs, dirt roads very poor, lot of potholes. Without a doubt we'd never stay here again. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall the campground is your basic experience. Our site was a pull through and we were facing the entrance of the campers next to us. All the utilities worked well and we had some shade. The office staff was pleasant and helpful, especially with lending us a 50amp to 30amp conversion wire. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Not very clean park. Sites are not level. Some campsites are facing each other. Our camper faced one from a family that lived here permanently. They did not keep their site clean at all and sent their dog on a long leash outside to go potty (sure that they did not pick up the waste). The whole park seems like the owners don't care a lot. We stayed here this second time because of the location. We will not come back. Plus is the free WiFi and that there are lots of trees and green areas in the park. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We were lucky to snag a spot here over Memorial Day weekend, as we had been traveling without reservations and a dozen calls had turned up nothing. And I really have no complaints--it has served us well. However, sites are all over the map crazy in terms of levelness (we wished we had a Sportsmobile to back up the berm into our site), tree-dodging (to the sides and overhead), rigs and tents are just crammed into every available space. If you have children, this is a very family friendly place--pool, arcade, softball field, fishing, boats. If you have a dog, you might luck out and have some empty greenery around your site for play/exercise (no dedicated doggie exercise places). Not sure what the place is like during the week, but it's a-hoppin' on a holiday weekend--camp(bon)fires, fireworks, shrieking children, etc. We camped at Lansing Cottonwood Campground in a Motorhome.
