Overall Rating:

This is a huge and beautifully landscaped park, probably the prettiest we've ever seen in our 6 years of full-time traveling. There's easy access for big rigs into the park, but we felt the interior roads were a bit narrow. The tow had been unhooked prior to being escorted to the site. Interior roads are asphalt and were in great condition. We were there only one night as we were passing through so we didn't check out any of the facilities. Utilities worked well. Cable is available. Sites were nicely spaced, some with quite a bit of privacy. There was a fire pit and a table. At our site, the fire pit was recessed into the ground, so just make note of where that's located in the event you have to step outside once it's dark. This park has almost every amenity anyone would be seeking. The only thing lacking was a designated pet area. Verizon data and cell service worked well. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Motorhome.

We've stayed here before and really enjoyed it. Nice spots, shade, people very nice, and lots to do in the area. Ludington State Park is fun - also Ludington downtown area is neat. We like this place a lot! No wifi however. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here 6 nights on site 93 next to bathrooms & pool. Extremely well run park, family owned/operated. Staff was evident everywhere you went taking care of things. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you make reservations, try to reserve a spot in the 200's or 300's because the sites at the very back or close to a railroad track just over the fence that you may hear from time to time. Other than that, great park! We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ludington has got to be the cleanest town I have ever visited...could not find one cigarette butt on curbs or sidewalks downtown. The park by Lake Michigan is very nice & the downtown area is vibrant with lots to see & do. The one thing you have to do when you are there is go eat at House of Flavors downtown......great food & terrific ice cream.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park for a week while attending a rally on site. This is a beautiful park. Sites are larger than typical. It is extremely clean and grass is mowed. The staff could not be more pleasant or helpful. The only reason that it is not a 10 is because each site has a fire pit and that fire pit is very close to the neighboring vehicle. My trailer was filled with smoke every night. I did not have a fire and kept my windows and door closed. Tent campers are mixed in with rvs, so if you are looking for a quiet relaxing time, that is out of the question. The park is big enough that they could have a section that prohibited fires and/or tents. That would make a huge difference. This is probably not the place to stay if you are allergic to wood smoke. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the nicest place we've stayed in so far in our 2 months of full time RV travel. We usually look for budget-friendly places, but we were in town for my cousin's wedding and this was a super convenient location. $38 per night is the off-season rate. The park is very large with many amenities. Good wifi, indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs, walking paths, very clean restrooms and showers, nice park employees, and quiet atmosphere (again, this is an off-season review). Nearly $50 to fill two 30lb propane tanks. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Poncho's Pond is magnificent. Pristine grounds, bathrooms and individual sites. Staff is friendly and incredibly accommodating. You are guided to your site and firewood delivered. Sites are long with more than enough space no matter the rig size. Easy connection on power and sewer. The owners live on the property. It is clear they take great pride that this is their home. We booked our stay for next year before leaving. Close to Lake Michigan activities and sightseeing. Sleeping Bear National Shoreline is 2 hour ride on the shores and dunes of Lake Michigan. This is an exquisite place to stay and enjoy the glories of The Great Lakes. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We got off the Luddington Ferry (The Badger) and drove about 2 miles to the park. It is in an industrial area, but once you drive in, you are in a beautifully maintained, luscious green park with a lake and lots of room. Excellent customer service, strong wifi and we were happy. Quiet. Level. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a huge but beautiful campground. The sites, ponds, landscaping, pools, etc. were second to none. Would have given this place a 10 but for two reasons: first, the entrance is marked by a sign that sits higher than normal next to a flooring business and it is easy to miss. We, along with others, did miss it and had to backtrack. Second, the streets are not named or numbered and we had to circle the park 3 times when we came back from dinner in the dark. We had our site map with us but could not see the site numbers without getting out of our vehicle and walking onto people's sites. To make matters worse some streets are one way but are not marked as such on the map. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit downtown Ludington, Big Sable lighthouse and Ludington North Pier Head Light. Walmart is very close to the park. Try Kountry Kubbard for breakfast - good food and price. Turn right out of the campground and left at the light. It's on the right, right after the turn.

This one of nicer RV campgrounds we have stayed at. The park is well maintained and the facilities are immaculate. While there are many seasonal campers it is hard to tell with everything being so well maintained and consistent. Many sites have good satellite access and my Verizon LTE signal was strong. Will definitely return and would request to be in the newer 300 series section. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park staff was extremely friendly and very help full. Campground was very clean and we had a spacious site for a private campground. Our grandkids camp with us once a summer and they both felt this was the best campground they have stayed with us so far. They can't wait to go back to Poncho's Pond. This is a nice park located a few miles out of the city; but not worth the $50/night price tag. We were visiting friends and chose the location as it was near to their home. Several sites are paved, others gravel. All appeared to be level. The park is clean and has swimming pools and lots of activities for families. This is one of the better places to stay if visiting the area. We were not bothered by the trains; didn't hear anything during the night. We camped at Poncho's Pond RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground, the staff is very friendly, and helpful. We stayed here while we were in Ludington fishing.
