Stayed one night. Facilities are adequate and well laid out for easy access. Most sites are pull through. Some are full hookup, some are water electric.

We used the laundry facilities, 4 washers and 4 driers, which were new.

Free breakfast - all you care to eat pancakes. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

About a 5-10 minute drive from this park there are a lot of tourist activities, shopping, public parks, and restaurants. None of them are within my walking distance. My favorites were the public parks and light houses along the waterfront.

Another good KOA park. We had an end site so at least one side of the site was open. The other was quite close to our neighbor and their fire pit. We kept getting a lot of smoke odor in our camper even though we did not have a fire.
All the sites were packed dirt so there was a lot of dust and since it rained a little, mud too.
All the services worked great even the wifi.
We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent a couple of nights here on our way through the state of Michigan. We wanted to be close to the Mackinaw Island ferries and the town of Mackinaw City. Also, we wanted to be able to bike to town. There is a paved bike path that is right near the campground which takes you right into town. If you have mountain bikes you can ride for many miles. The trails out of town turn to gravel as these trails are the old rail system.

There was cable provided in the park which was satisfactory. Water pressure was around 40 psi. The electrical service was adequate. We stayed on a site without sewer so we used the dump station provided which was easy to get into.

This is a great park if you want to be close to town! We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bike in the area as well as on Mackinaw Island. Ferry rides run from $25 - $30 pp and another $8 - $9 to bring a bike with you. There are many places to eat and shop as you walk around town.

We had a pull thru full hookup site. Site was level for the most part. Water pressure was a little low, 50 amp electric was fine. Cable was snowy. We could not get satellite but we knew this going in. Wifi is horrible. The one time I was able to connect it was 4:30 am. No excuse for sorry wifi these days. Our site was mostly dirt although not all sites are like this. Friendly staff. some pull thrus looked better than ours. My neighbor had to back out of his pull through site to avoid hitting a tree. I would avoid the pull thrus in the row numbered in the 40's unless it was at the end of the row. There are 2 small dog runs. Park is in a good location for a base camp. The ferries provide shuttles that will pick you up at the campground. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Do not get site number 46 if you're in a large rig unless you want to back out. If you plan on taking a carriage ride, buy a combo ticket (ferry/carriage) for $47.00. We decided to take a carriage ride once on the island so it cost us an additional $6.00 each for an adult ticket. Ferry was $25(adult) and carriage was $28.

We reserved 3 sites here for our family from Georgia's road trip. We thought we were safe with a KOA, boy were we WRONG. The showers are unisex and the doors didn't lock! There was a 3 ft. stump on one of the sites right where the awning would let out. They said "well you know it is in the woods" and" it takes years for a tree stump to rot away". I guess they have never heard of a stump grinder. The place had no gravel, anywhere! Roads and sites were sand. The worst place we have ever stayed!!! Oh and to wash and dry a load of clothes $5.00. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice well maintained park. The park is very well situaited for seeing the sights of the Mackinaw area. A number of sites large enough for big rigs, and access to the sites is generally good. Sites are a bit tight (not a lot of space between the sites), but have room for slides and awnings. Owner and staff was courteous and helpful. The park has a short nature trail to a 1.5 mile walking/bike trail that will take you into the center of the Mackinaw City tourist area. Great way to see the city and not have to worry about finding a place to park. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

A nice KOA. Great location for visiting Mackinaw City and the island. The camp sits close to an excellent paved bike trail that leads right to the ferry docks. Our water and electric site was shaded, level and quite spacious. The water pressure was good and the electric service was steady. The camp WiFi was a bit disappointing, however. As in many places we've stayed, the WiFi signal was strong, but the throughput was marginal at best. I believe many of these parks don't subscribe to providers capable of offering the bandwidth required for multi-party use. "Just sayin'." Be that as it may, we enjoyed our stay and will return if we should find ourselves in this area again. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Take a ferry ride out to Mackinaw Island. Well worth it! Dogs are welcome on the ferry for no additional charge. Bikes however, you gotta pay extra.

We chose this park because of the location and the access to the bike path for going into town. You walk or ride your bike through a short trail in the woods and you are on a lovely paved path into town. We rode our bike to the ferry twice to go over to Mackinac Island and rode all over town. It's also great for walking the dogs! The sites aren't all that level and things in the campground could be spruced up a bit. We did drive through all the other campgrounds in the area and were happy we chose to stay here. The location is great, the other campers were nice. We would stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Go to Mackinac Island! Take your bike, it's the easiest way to get around and renting bikes there is expensive. Costs $9 per bike to take it on the ferry, but if you rent a bike on island, it's $25 for 4 hours! Eat at Audie's, great menu, excellent food. Fish and chips at Scallywags are also excellent. I tried fudge from 4 different places and liked Mackinaw Island Fudge Company the best. Not much shopping that is worth it in town, but there is so much to do outdoors you won't miss it.

This is a very tight park with absolutely no grass. Everything is dirt. Our picnic table sits over the top of the sewer connection for the adjacent lot. We were lucky to reserve one of the few 50 amp sites. Location is away from town. We will not return here. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.

We liked this park, and its access to the bike trail that ran into town. We're happy to report there were no bug problems during our stay the first week of August. We liked the layout of the bathrooms, which linked the men's and women's restrooms into a common area with locking rooms for the showers - there was privacy and the showers had good pressure and hooks/benches. Interior roads were gravel, as were the sites, which were fairly level. The 50-amp power was strong, but water pressure was around 30 PSI, too low for our motorhome and we had to boost it with our water pump. Site spacing was reasonable, and our pull-through site was long enough to easily accommodate our car. The Verizon access was strong, and we did not try the park's Wi-Fi, so we cannot report on that. There was some traffic noise during the day from the road that bordered the park, and even though there were a lot of folks driving around it was fairly quiet. We would stay here again. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.

We had a relatively level spot with water, electricity and cable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They have a pool and game room for the kids. Most of the sites are shaded. They have firewood for sale. Though we do not regret staying here, we should clarify one thing. The campground advertises that they provide a shuttle to the Mackinac Island Ferry. In truth, the ferry has a shuttle system to all of the campgrounds and motels. The campground will provide you with a ferry schedule, then about a 1/2 hour before the ferry you go to the office and they call the shuttle for you. The KOA also gives you a $5 discount coupon per ferry ticket. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice, relatively level sites in trees which are not in the way of getting in and out. Camp workers police sites as people check out. Workers in store are friendly and helpful. Wifi worked very well the whole week we were there. Easy access to all tourist attractions. Enjoyed stay and would stay here again. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice park with large, treed sites and a kid friendly environment. This is a good camp to use when visiting Mackinac Island. The nature trail hooks up with the city bike path which is a very nice paved path, which goes for many miles. We would stay here again if in the area. This is a tough place to rate. I liked it because it was close to Mackinaw City, it was super quiet, we had a nice shaded lot, water/electric/cable/Wi-Fi all worked, bathroom and showers were clean and the pool was okay. I had no problem with the staff and the lady at the front desk was very helpful. Saying that, this place needs TLC and could really be better. The playground is horrible - my kids are older and don't need it, but if I had younger kids, I would be very disappointed. Pool was nice, but it could have been cleaner. The public use grounds were a mess and things were falling apart. I would come here again because the things I need are in place and work for me. This place has a lot of potential. We stayed at this KOA during a trip to Mackinac Island, and the location is great. This KOA is a short drive to all the area attractions, and even offers a free shuttle to the Mackinac Island ferry. The bathrooms, showers and pool were clean, and they had a good camp store with some local souvenirs. We had a full hookup site which was relatively level, my only complaint is the firepits built into the ground very close to neighboring campsites. Another complaint, and it's minor, was the very expensive laundry facilities. We camped at Mackinaw City / Mackinac Island KOA in a Motorhome.
