We echo the good comments on this park. It was the most expensive park we have encountered this season, with 12 weeks and 9000 miles traveling, however, in this case, we feel that we got what we paid for. Bear in mind, this is a massive RV park about 3 miles south of Mackinaw City. Our site was nearly a mile drive to the entrance. Many waterfront sites, but they are much smaller than other sites. We had a site 2 rows back from waterfront that was spacious, treed and very private, as are many there. This park is a destination resort in many ways. They have everything needed there on site. The general store is a bit pricey, but has whatever you may need. I rode my bike 3-5 miles per day and never left the park! They employ many students for the summer, all of which are trained to provide exceptional service from the time you arrive until you leave, as are all other regular employees. They have ongoing programs daily. The park creates its own atmosphere and was a great place to stay. We would stay here again without question. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Make reservations as early as possible. Mackinaw City is mostly touristy things, great food shopping in Cheboygan 12 miles south. Trip to Mackinac Island is nice. MANY people, no cars, and only horses/ carriages allowed. 2 hour carriage tour was about $85.00 for 3. Ferry to island very reasonable and a 20 minute ride each. Way.

I think we had the best waterfront site in the park. The view was great. The site was plenty big enough and had some trees/shrubs for privacy. Nice store, and the roads were great. Nice beaches and a pool we never made it to. We had to leave early for an emergency at home, and they offered to refund my unused days without even asking. We'll certainly be back in the future. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Tent camped on a more rustic site. Plenty of privacy between sites, trees and shrubs, and grass to place tent on. The water was hot in the showers and free of charge. There is a swimming pool and bikes for rent.

We didn't have a Fire Ring but never asked about it because we were not having a fire. We actually asked for this particular site and was told it was not an available section, but they let us camp there anyway. We were lucky and didn't have any one camping right next to us, so it made it more private.

Overall very satisfied with our experience. I would camp here again next summer. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Tent.

This is a huge campground a few miles south of Mackinac City right on Lake Huron. We have a 45' with toad so they directed us to a road where we could unhook and take car separately into the site. It was a very wide & deep site with room for the trailer in front of the coach and lots of space next to it for picnic table/chairs/etc plus parking the car. We were able to pull out and load the car right on the trailer to exit but getting into the spot with the trailer/car would have been tough. No wi-fi. Big camp store and pool area. Also saw a big playground. Lots of kayaks at sites so I'm sure kayaking was great right off the sandy beach. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mackinaw City, lots to do there and ferries to Mackinac Island had shuttles that picked up at the campground or offered free daily parking. Arnold Ferry is the least expensive; it's a 40 minute trip in each direction. The others offer faster boats with a higher cost. We were heading to the Upper Peninsula and access onto the bridge entrance was very easy from the campground.

Good signage. Interior roads and sites are sand/dirt but are well maintained. Sites are lined by trees/shrubs for privacy. Wifi is not free. You need to purchase a plan. Our ATT hotspot worked well so we did not check the prices for wifi plans.

Interior road layout is confusing at first. Our site was up front so there was a little road noise. No cable but got a good satellite connection. Close to all attractions.

The only negative is that you have to drive all the way up to the office area to dump trash. They really should place a couple more dumpsters around the park. We would stay here again. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit a working water powered saw mill at Historic Mill Creek. Go to Colonial Michilimackinac as well as the usual attractions. We took the hydrofoil ferry to the island and enjoyed it. Ate twice at Audie's. The food was very good. Get pie at Darrow's.

Booked a "large" RV site 6months in advance, and checked in to a site that was about 25' wide. Our receipt said that our site was 40' wide. We brought this to the office's attention, and they courteously moved us to a lakeview site, which was the same width, but the view was FANTASTIC. If you can fit into a 25'w site and don't mind getting to know your neighbors, get the lakeview site, it's worth it.

Portions of the park have dirt roads which are not particularly well-maintained, but most of it has paved roads which are sufficient for navigation with RVs. Many FHU sites, OTA tv is fair (no cable). Wi-Fi is spotty (first site we were on it was great, on the lakeview site, not so good), and costs money to use, per day.

Camp store is large and well-stocked, registration office has numerous agents for check-in. As mentioned in other reviews, this park is huge and has lots of check-in/check-out activity every day.

The proximity to Mackinaw City, island ferry, the bridge, etc., is excellent, and the views of the lake, bridge and island from our site were worth the narrow site and the hassle of setting up twice, after the move.

We'd go back here, and would select another lakeview site. Would have given it a '9', if the roads were a little better on that northwest section and if there were fewer weeds in the 'privacy' growth between sites. Other people have complained about the lone shower house, but we use our own shower, so that wasn't a big deal, but it is a bit of a hike from parts of the campground. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Mackinaw City is nice, with shops and restaurants, but Mackinaw Island is worth the $50 round-trip (for 2) ferry. It's a must-see, as is the Mackinaw Bridge, which had my wife covering her eyes for a portion of it ;-)

Big rig friendly with level sites. Stayed in lake site overlooking the Mackinaw Bridge which was great. No dog park but lots of grass to walk dog. Plenty of flat ground to ride bicycle. Showers had hot water but needed updating. No laundry facilities. Had a small swimming pool which stayed crowded due to large campground. Had beach access with swimming in lake. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Mackinaw city was 3 miles away and is a pretty town with shopping and restaurants. Campground provided free shuttle to catch ferry to Mackinaw Island. We went two days to Mackinaw Island and really enjoyed the sites. Walked the island and visited Fort Macinaw and Arch Rock. Walmart was 10 miles.

This is a very large RV park. Very picturesque on the Straits of Mackinaw. The sites range from tiny to decent size and although a very confusing layout, fairly easy to get around. The problem is the restrooms. There is only one for the whole park, and this park is enormous. It can be a 20 minute walk to the restroom. The exact same problem exists for garbage. There are no garbage cans, except at the exit, so you have a 20 minute walk for that. The washroom is very small for a camp ground with hundreds of sites. We would not stay again. My wife and I liked this park. It was quiet, and clean. The store, check in, and management of the park seemed well organized. Everyone we talked to was friendly and helpful. Its a large park. Beach at campground is nice. Part of it is rocky, but most is easy access to water. It was a long walk from our site. If that's important to you, try to get nearer to it. I would stay here again. Campground too large. Everything is far away. The camp store, pool, golf are centrally located but they are still quite far from the outer sites. The roads to get places are very confusing, we got lost several times. There is only one entrance/exit which is also far from the outer sites. There are other roads that could serve as a closer exit but they are blocked off by a chain. The only trash is located at the entrance/exit which is not convenient at all. This campground has so many sites, you definitely don't get the small campground feel that most campgrounds have. However they do have a nice beach area with a view of the bridge. There aren't a whole lot of places that you can walk your dog (lots of the grass areas are marked no dogs), but they do have plans to put in a dog park in the future. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw island is beautiful. Great place to ride bikes. You can take your bike on the ferry with you across the island or rwnt one on the island. Pink Pony was a good restaurant on the island as well as Sadies ice cream (try Mackinaw fudge) at the Grand Hotel. Mackinac city downtown has lots of t-shirt/souvenier shops if you like that sort of thing.

We were there specifically to go out to Mackinac Island, but it seems lots of bikers, and water sport folks and families come here a lot. They didn't bother us, tho, and we didn't bother them so it wasn't an issue for us, except one little toddler wandering the road totally unattended! Shame on those parents!

Park is the worst laid out and difficult to get around in. Luckily, someone we knew escorted us to our site. Overall park is expensive and over rated. No Wi-Fi, no cable, and very little antenna TV. Toilets are little more than an outhouse. Our air conditioner would occasionally bring in the odor. Sites that were gravel now are now dirt. No grass, just weeds and uncut. I would not recommend this park to anyone. Fire rings are too close to units. Road signs are few and too dark a background. You have to KNOW your way around. This is a huge park (over 1300 sites) with many types of sites and cabins. We had a full hook-up site that was lake view (not lake front). All the hook ups were good and the wifi worked very well. We got a few OTA TV stations. The bathhouse was clean, but pretty far away from some sites. The camp store was well stocked. The roads were paved & site pads were level dirt/rock/grass, each with a picnic table & fire pit. The staff was continually mowing & cleaning. We enjoyed our stay. This is a large place like others have said. Book early if you want a water front or Big Mac bridge view during peak summer dates.
