Pros: Very wooded park, resembled a state park. Rows of trees, shrubs, etc. between spaces provided privacy. Lots of shade, quiet and dark at night. Cons: No laundry on site, had to go into town. Only one dumpster location near park entrance. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby Mackinaw City is a typical tourist town, lots of small shops. Seemed like every fifth or so one sold fudge... Try Weinerlicious for hot dogs, Darrow's for supper. Cheboygan (14-15 miles away) has the typical fast food places, casual dining, Walmart. etc.

Check in was very friendly and helpful. We asked for a satellite friendly site & we certainly had it. Although there were some small trees on our site, it was open and most nights we were the only site on the row! We were next to the Rally building which was not being used that week. We were a distance from the water, but with bikes had no problem riding down for sunset and views of the bridge. Nice grassy park type area with nice swings. Almost any size and view you might want. Also some very nice cabins. The free shuttle runs to Mack Island and has a trailer to take your bike. The store will sell discount tickets for the ferry and also rent bikes. The facilities are well kept. I gave a 9 due to lack of laundry facilities. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

We have stayed her multiple times. Some of the sites are narrow, but the view is worth it. Staff is very efficient and friendly. The view of the bridge and island are beautiful day and night (when they are lit up). We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Check in was a fairly rude experience. Other than that the park was clean and on lake Huron. However, I could not find any lake access within 100 yards of our site to the lake. Finding the campsite was also a challenge. 2 finds and 2 fails. For the fails, we had missed one of the turns. For the finds, it was luck. I will try someplace else next time. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

With over 600 sites, there is a wide variation on quality. However, we loved our site. We had a Large Bridge View sites that overlooked a green belt with fire pits right on Lake Huron. We had a gorgeous view right out of our windshield. There are two types of Large Bridge View sites. One with view on the awning side of the coach and one without. We had one without but there was much room for chairs, table etc. on the none awning side. Some reviews cited all of the kids etc as being a problem. We loved it. It was great to see young families camping with their kids. Staff here was extremely friendly, even stopping to ask if everything was OK. Evidently, the park is second and third generation family owned and managed. The park is extremely well maintained. The fire pits along Lake Huron are all used nightly. It is fun to do. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The primary attraction here is Mackinac Island. The Star Line Ferry runs an hourly shuttle from the Campground to the Ferry Dock. The shuttle has a trailer for bicycles. It is very efficient. We rode around Mackinac Island on our bicycles and had the Buffet at the Grand Hotel for lunch. Was a great day and nice ferry ride. About 15 miles away on US 31 is a great family owned dive called Camp Brutus Deli. Great breakfast and lunch.

Huge park right on the lake. Pool, store with pizza, ice cream and subs. Shuttle to the dock. Very clean park but a little expensive. The only complaint is the staff at the front check in was not very friendly nor helpful. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

and This is a large park with a great camp store, sites and views. Site was level with minimal separation between sites. Site was also large. Others might be tempted to park 2 rigs on some of the sites. We had a very short walk to the shore of lake Huron and great views of Mackinac Island and Mackinac Bridge. Fire bowls are along the shore for use. The park is highly maintained but needs another bath house. For a park this large one is not enough. We would certainly stay here again if in the area. This was perfect location to explore surrounding areas. Will be spending every 4th up here as long as we can. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Large well-run park right on Lake Huron. Our site had a view of the bridge. Full Hookups. Easy in and out for a big rig. Lots of bugs but that is inevitable in northern Michigan in June. Great sunsets. We recommend. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Booked a large 50 amp site but upon arrival found no view of anything except the outhouse across the road. We asked to be moved to the "bridge view" area which are the premium sites. Our 38' motorhome and jeep barley fit in both length and width. The sites are so closely packed that neighbors sitting in front of their camper sounded like they were in our living room even though we had the doors and windows closed. These sites are the tightest I've seen in 5 years. You can have a larger site or know there is a lake out there but you can't have both!! There is a fee for everything and rules rules and more rules. My favorite is that pets are not allowed on the grass and must be kept on the road. Couldn't take our dog to the bench on the shore without breaking a rule. Know what you want and be ready for a crowded campground before booking this CG! Trash must be taken to dumpster way up at the office. The staff is very helpful and very personable I want to be sure to add! Big place and feels like a "Big Place"to be sure! We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Locals call the tourists "fudgies". Take the hint, buy some judge, it is very good fudge! Go to Mackinac Island for the day and bike around the island. Use the bike/hike trail between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan.

We were reluctant as new campers to go to such a large park, but we found a very professional, well maintained, and organized facility. It was the end of Sept so relatively quiet, but even with it's size, we never felt crowded. You have to pay for wifi, and pay according to your desired speed via an outside provider, however I felt that was worth it as the service was very good. Easy access to the ferrys and downtown. We would definitely return! We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground is massive. Road layout is confusing to say the least. Our site was level, some shrubs between sites, mostly dirt and some gravel. Sites and roads were very dusty. The fire ring was located at the extreme rear of site. For the price, all sites need maintenance and more grass. We don't like parking in dirt. Not all roads are paved. Non paved roads are very dusty but overall in good condition. Water pressure was ok at 38 psi. Verizon cell worked, but no LTE. Only weak 3G. There are waterfront sites here, very narrow (25 ft) and not very deep. Your RV will back up to RVs directly behind you. Large motorhomes will have a very tight fit. Water front sites are only 30 amp service. They are pricey - $64 and up per night. This is a family campground. There are playgrounds, a pool, game room, bike rentals etc. The park store seem well stocked. They offer hot coffee, soft drinks, limited groceries, wine and beer. They also sell pizza. There are two areas in the campground to catch the free shuttle that takes you to the ferry going to Mackinac Island. The free shuttle leave at 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 AM. The shuttle has a trailer for your bikes. There is not a laundromat in the campground. You need to go to Mackinaw City to do laundry. All trash containers are located need the entrance to the campground. That can be a very long walk to take out the garbage. When arriving there are two lanes to park in. You need to know your vehicle license number before you walk to the office to register. If the sites were better maintained and the campground had paved roads I would have rated this campground higher. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A trip to Mackinac Island is a must. Round trip ferry prices to the island start at $24. You can take your bike to the island for a $10 charge. You can rent bikes on the island for $6 per hour. A trip to the Soo Lock in Sault Ste Marie is also good. There are boat tours that will take you through the locks.

This is a huge campground and the sites vary widely in different parts. We stayed in an extra large site in the 900 section. Our site was adjacent to a wifi tower and the wifi there was well worth the extra cost. We also were able to get satellite from our site. The views of the bridge from the park are a nice feature. Upon arrival was greeted by an individual in drive up parking area directing vehicles to make sure everyone was able to get through the check in process quickly. Large park, well ran. Lots of staff on duty. Many things to do within campground. Keep your campground map handy to navigate. Pool nice as was beach area. Highly recommend using fire rings in common area by the lake to watch sun set behind the bridge. Ride fire truck early in the night as it is very popular and busy. Great way to see the campground. Sites are tightly spaced, but we knew this heading in so it wasn't a big deal to us. They have planted trees and shrubs between sites to try and provide some privacy. After rain storm staff was out filling holes in the gravel roads. Main roads through campground are paved. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Travel Trailer.
