Best kept secret in Northwest Michigan. Pool, pickleball courts, volleyball, basketball around the world, corn hole game, tetherball, hiking trails and so much more! Grass sites and beautiful pine trees (not jackpine). Pavilion so you can sit in the shade if needed. Place was manicured to the tens! Rolling hills surround the camping area and the sites offer good privacy. On major holiday weekends they have many planned activities with good prizes. Lots of things for the kids to do. Privately owned and owner is on site and actively involved in the day to day operation. Staff is very friendly and very informative. Nice store on site and the ice and wood are available at prices below the prices in town. On top of that they deliver it to your site. We were there on the 4th of July weekend. They had a potluck dinner and the Resort supplied the meats (pulled pork, chicken and ribs) and it was delicious! They also had their own fireworks display that was better than any I have seen in the towns surrounding them. This park has 93 sites and can accommodate large rigs. Town is about 2 miles away and has a major chain grocery store, gas stations and fast food places. Give it a try and you will be writing a review like this. On a scale of 1 to 10 this place is a 20! We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The cleanest, most beautiful pine-filled park we've found in Michigan. It's a GEM. The new owners were attentive to every detail. The main restroom/shower facility is still under construction, but facilities are available at the main building. Nice heated pool. Washer/dryer available. Hiking trails. Convenient to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear, Petosky, Mackinaw and more. We highly recommend this campground. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Best groceries, WalMart, and big box stores can be found nearby in Gaylord - about 14 miles. The small local grocer is overpriced, lacks selection.

Spent summer here work camping with no prior experience with area. Beautiful park with spacious sites and lots of mature pine trees. Facilities are spotless. Pool is heated to 80 or 83 degrees. No mosquitoes and usually a breeze blowing so no air conditioning most of the time. Ice and wood delivered to site. Pickle ball courts and other activities available. Strict rules are enforced so the park is quiet and there is no speeding. Wonderful! Owner goes all out for major holiday with firewords and cookouts. Close to all tourist destinations. Will definitely put this park on regular rotation whether we work here or not. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Shorts Brew Pub in Bellaire is 20 minutes away and has great beer and killer menu. A must see.

This is a great campground! All hookups were very good, site was level, owner and his helpers were polite and friendly. Loved the quiet in the park and the scenery was beautiful. Showers and restrooms clean, and received network TV channels with antenna. Wi-Fi worked, but had a few dead times during the week. Rate was with weekly discount. Will definitely return. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Halfway between Traverse City and Petoskey

This is an excellent park with large spacious sites. The owner is very nice and was in the process of closing down for the season. Park is very well maintained and very clean. Not many RVs here this time of year, so it is very quiet and peaceful. No tall trees to block satellite signal, and there is a cell tower across the street for exceptional cell signal. Streets are smooth and wide enough for big rigs. There are two pools, wading and swimming. Close to Petosky and Traverse City. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice blue spruce trees between every wide spot. New owners are really making some nice changes, lawns nicely cut, roads well maintained, in fact had some rain today and they were right out there getting them smooth again. The are in the process of updating the lower restroom. For Labor Day weekend, had fireworks, free pancake breakfast, and BBQ in the evening. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects a 50 amp, pull-through site. This park, previously known as "Whispering Pines Family Campground", has new owners and a new park name as of May, 2013. This is a nice, clean park easily accessed from US-131. Park is well landscaped with many younger trees and lots of open spaces for walking or play. The park includes a great adult pool, and separate kiddie play pool. Though there is currently no cable TV or WiFi provided, but we found several over the air HD channels available, and satellite access is also available from just about every site. There is very strong Verizon LTE high speed data and AT&T cellular service within the park. The central restroom is currently closed due to winter freeze damage caused by the previous owners leaving without winterizing. The new owners have already made many, very visible improvements in the park and no doubt will have the central restroom facilities back in service soon. In the meantime, restroom facilities near the pool are available. The owner and family reside within the park. About the only downside in this campground are the gravel roads throughout the park. This could create some dust during the busiest times, but was not an issue while we were there for two nights. We have tried several RV parks within a 30 mile radius of this park and feel that this park is the best in this area we have found. This park would make be an excellent choice for an overnight or extended stay. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate is daily rate for 50 amp electric and water back-in site with PA discount. Roads gravel, but were watered to keep the dust down, sites grass, some more level than others. A number of the sites are larger than typical in most private parks. Excellent satellite and Verizon reception. Has lots for kids and families to do, but also good for an overnight. Good value for the money with the PA discount, we would stay here again. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Passport price. This campground is a gem. Large open level spaces with full hook ups that all worked well. Delightful scenery abound. Quiet and relaxing place. Owners were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if in the area in a heartbeat. Even thought sites are not paved this placed deserved a 10! Awesome Camp Ground! The Owners are very accommodating! The Campground was very clean and Pleasant! They have a Swimming pool and a Kids Pool with Spray equipment to play with. The Campground is only a few years old. It will only get better as the years go by. This Campground is a "MUST STAY AT". I have no complaints after staying here for over a week! If you are looking for a campground in the Mancelona area you need to try this one out! We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.
