Enjoyed our stay at Whispering Pines. Clear line of site for the satellite dish, no trees over the motorhome, spacious grass site, full hook-up, 50 amp. Enjoyed the heated pool and helpful staff. Wifi was easy to connect to but didn't connect reliably to the internet -- provider having trouble making it work. We stayed for a week while visiting relatives, will stay again when in the area. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is one of the nicest facilities in northern Michigan. The grounds are very well taken care of and it is a great place for rest and solitude. No trashy RV's, late night parties or noisy ATV's and traffic. The owners are always helpful and courteous. The pool is always a great place to relax and there are always games for the campers. There are many lakes and local sites and venues to visit during any planned day trips. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Found this park from previous reviews and made an excellent choice. The staff were great. The 4th of July celebration included a picnic with the meat provided by the park and we met some great people (of course). The setting is wonderful. We'll be back when next in these parts! Absolutely superb! We have stayed at several so-called resorts, but this is the ONLY one that truly lives up to its name. The owner and staff provide over-the-top service: ice, firewood, and mail delivered to your site, as well as daily trash pick up. Sites are grass-covered, level, roomy and satellite-friendly. Apparently, this is a former Christmas tree farm, with many of the trees providing shelter and privacy between sites - a really nice touch. The FREE WiFi worked well. This resort-campground boasts a heated swimming pool, basketball, volleyball, pickleball courts, and a 1.8 mile nature trail. The strictly enforced 5 mph speed limit makes this park very kid friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and absolutely look forward to another visit. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We were going to stay elsewhere and switched from there to this park. What a great choice. Spacious, level, grassy sites in what we would call a Christmas tree farm setting. Full hookup site with excellent water pressure. strong WiFi, local, over the air channels, and a wide open shot for your dish to work perfectly! Very friendly staff got us located, and backed in. Just a beautiful setting, and super clean and quiet. Would give this park 50 stars if possible! We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful, quiet, well groomed park. Mostly level, grassy sites set among various types of pine trees for privacy. The owner was very friendly. There are many activities for the whole family: heated pool, volleyball, tetherball... There is a 1.8 mile mowed trail behind the park that winds through rolling meadows and fields of pines. Awesome campground!! We will definitely return! We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is a real find for us. It is the quietest, roomiest and most beautiful facility we have stayed in here in Michigan. We're perched on a hill with a view of gently rolling hills. Sunny sites are made private by groupings of fir trees. The grounds, rest rooms, showers and swimming pool are immaculate. The owner is on site and committed to creating a stay where all campers can have fun yet respect their neighbors. Their are lots of games onsite with complementary equipment available all day, including basketball, a pickle ball court, two badminton courts, tetherball and corn hole. Traverse City, Charlevoix and Petoskey are all an easy 30 mile drive away. This is our park of choice whenever we are in the area. Originally schedule to only stay 1 month. However we enjoyed this park so much that we extended for 2 additional months. Owner is very nice and helpful. The park is very well maintained with owner and workers constantly mowing, edging...and in general seeing that park looks great. Owner is adding 2 additional showers/bathrooms and another laundry room. Lots of walking areas. If you are there over 4th of July...the fireworks are awesome. We would most definitely stay here again. Best summer ever. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

If you are an experienced RV'er looking for great place to stay, this is it. The sites are huge and level. The sites and areas around the sites are immaculately maintained. The owners enforce the rules to keep the park nice and safe. If you are looking for activities they have them on the weekends. We are usually looking for a peaceful campground with access to local sights and shopping and this is wonderful for that. We used to stay at a fancy RV resort near Acme but his campground is quieter and way less expensive. If you are visiting the Traverse City area I would highly recommend it. Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $25.00

We enjoyed our stay at this campground. The facilities are well kept and the staff are polite and attentive. Our site was not level so the owner delivered some boards which really helped. Each site comes with fire ring and picnic table. Garbage is picked up every morning and ice and firewood are delivered to the campsite for a reasonable rate. The roads are all a fine gravel and packed down real nice so no dust. The campsites are quite spacious and all grass except 1 site has a slab. I think the 5 mph speed limit is a good idea in the camper area but could you make it 10 mph on the main loop? I think management is a bit hyper about enforcing the rules here. For example, they didn't want us to have an outdoor shower at our campsite due to erosion. However, what do you do when there's a thunderstorm? They could have just asked us to be careful not to run too much water on the ground and that would have been fine. They also stopped and inspected our outdoor carpeting to make sure it wouldn't kill the lawn. Seriously, I think you have bigger issues than that.. (i.e. the smoke detector in the bathroom hanging by wires). I was surprised this place did not book up on the weekend, and the bath house is not overrun because a lot of the campers were big enough to have their own facilities. Pool and restroom/shower facilities are quite clean and well-kept. All in all it was a good stay and I would stay here again. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Boating at torch lake, lots of golf courses nearby. Hiking in the woods. ATV and snowmobile trails. Sand Lake, Wetzel Lake are good for secluded swimming. Many cute little towns within reasonable driving distance. Mancelona itself is not a real nice town.

We recently stayed here for three nights. This is a beautiful campground with rolling hills and many pine trees....and yes, they do whisper in the breeze! The owner and his assistant are great. Be aware, they do enforce the rules, which is a great thing as far as we are concerned. If there is anything you need, a phone call to the office takes care of it with on site delivery, even propane tank pick up and delivery. Within driving distance of many wonderful areas. The bathrooms were not open as they are remodeling them but we always use our own. We will return. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Best kept secret in Northwest Michigan. Pool, pickleball courts, volleyball, basketball around the world, corn hole game, tetherball, hiking trails and so much more! Grass sites and beautiful pine trees (not jackpine). Pavilion so you can sit in the shade if needed. Place was manicured to the tens! Rolling hills surround the camping area and the sites offer good privacy. On major holiday weekends they have many planned activities with good prizes. Lots of things for the kids to do. Privately owned and owner is on site and actively involved in the day to day operation. Staff is very friendly and very informative. Nice store on site and the ice and wood are available at prices below the prices in town. On top of that they deliver it to your site. We were there on the 4th of July weekend. They had a potluck dinner and the Resort supplied the meats (pulled pork, chicken and ribs) and it was delicious! They also had their own fireworks display that was better than any I have seen in the towns surrounding them. This park has 93 sites and can accommodate large rigs. Town is about 2 miles away and has a major chain grocery store, gas stations and fast food places. Give it a try and you will be writing a review like this. On a scale of 1 to 10 this place is a 20! We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The cleanest, most beautiful pine-filled park we've found in Michigan. It's a GEM. The new owners were attentive to every detail. The main restroom/shower facility is still under construction, but facilities are available at the main building. Nice heated pool. Washer/dryer available. Hiking trails. Convenient to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear, Petosky, Mackinaw and more. We highly recommend this campground. We camped at Whispering Pines RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Best groceries, WalMart, and big box stores can be found nearby in Gaylord - about 14 miles. The small local grocer is overpriced, lacks selection.
