While we used to come to this campground often, we had not been here for over twenty years. We thought we would give it a try again. They now have eleven full hook-up sites. They also created five pull-through sites. They have new electric throughout the campground and a three-lane dump station. We stayed in one of the full hook-up sites. Most all sites have some shade and most are pretty decent size. A lot of the sites are not very level which can be challenging. The full hook-up sites are popular which means that they are well worn and are mostly dirt surface. Other sites can have more grass and a very few have gravel pads. The bathrooms are old and some repairs are needed, but they are kept clean. TV reception is poor; besides a Michigan public station, we could only receive Green Bay (WI) stations. Cell phone reception was good. The park location is beautiful. It is one of the few places you can stay on Lake Michigan without being in a parking-lot type location. We could see the lake from our campsite. You are close to town without being in town. The beach is very narrow (when the water level is high like this year) with a lot of stairs to reach it, so less convenient for beach lovers. However, there are lots of other beaches available within a short driving distance. The stairs to the beach are in good condition and give you good exercise! We will definitely return! We camped at Orchard Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out the Michigan Audubon's Lake Bluff Bird Sanctuary just north of the campground. They have beautiful grounds, big trees, and interesting trails - including one to a nice beach. (http://www.michiganaudubon.org/lake-bluff-bird-sanctuary/)
