We spent three nights here. The pull thru site was long enough for our 35' and tow/dolly but the utilities were too far back requiring us to unhook. The sites are dirt/gravel with room between sites. Verizon doesn't work but ATT did. There are no TV channels available. Utilities worked well and the wifi was better than most parks. It was mostly quiet and convenient to Manistique and Munising. I might try the new city park in Manistique next time but would come back here if it wasn't available. All in all, this is a decent park. I hear the food is great at the lodge but we didn't try it. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Friendly park host couple. All utilities worked good and park is very clean and pretty. Large sites but very little grass, mostly dirt. Site parking was gravel. Wifi worked very good throughout park. Wifi was installed one week earlier for the park, you use to go to office for Wifi access. Cell service does not exist at park or for 10+ miles in any direction. Large horse flies that bite during my mid July stay. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for 3 weeks, basically for location between Manistique & Munising. The rv park section here is only 3 yrs. old. Previously just depended on cabin rentals along with the lodge. There are 27 back-in sites, all full hook-up. Sites 1 thru 6 & 19 are full h/u with 30/50 amp service; the remainder in that loop (to the left of the bath house) are full h/u with 30 amp only. Sites 20 thru 27 (to the right of the bath house) are all full h/u with 30/50 amp service. All of the utilities worked very well. I was not told about the sites layout when we made reservations in March. If you have a satellite dish on your unit, I strongly suggest that you ask for sites 22, 23 or 24, where you can get a descent shot in the southwest direction. We were in 25 & had no satellite signal because of a rather large tree on the driver side front (my navigator was not amused). When we first arrived, the only possible wifi signal was in the lodge, but by the third week, owner had two antennas erected on the bath house, which greatly improved wifi signal. We have ATT cellphone service & the only thing I can say about ATT here, it greatly sucks! We would occasionally drive to Manistique to make phone calls to fam & friends, etc. Now the "skinny" on the park. You are in Hiawatha National Forest & there be BUGS here (gnats & deer flies). Bring bug spray & if you have a small lightweight patio tent with screening, you will be able to enjoy being outside. I can't really trash this park. I give the owner an A for slowly making improvements. I had real doubts when we first arrived, but it's got real outback style. The lodge was built in 1928 & definitely has style with a fully stocked bar. On Wednesday night, they prepare a Parmesan encrusted filet of local whitefish with baked potato & steamed veggies that's pretty tasty. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Most of the scenic things that you might want to see are all in Munising, such as waterfalls, hiking trails, visits to the Pictured Rocks on Lake Superior. The Lodge has good food & cold beer. If you want a little more upscale choice of food, about 5 miles up M94 on the West side of the road & set back abit is the Boot Lake Bar & Grill that offers pretty good steaks, etc. The sign is really dark & you can miss it easily.

Overall Rating:

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon having made an on-line reservation only the evening before and to my surprise the campground was almost empty. Check-in was very easy at the bar/restaurant just off the M-94. The staff member here was very friendly and provided us with good directions to our site. Once we got in to our site, the host took the time to come over and introduce himself which I thought was a nice, friendly gesture. We had site #19 as it is located on the end of a row with no neighbours on our door side - just ferns and trees. The site was long enough for our 40' 5er plus truck. The pad was made of gravel but sloped towards the back and required some leveling on the door side to bring us straight. The utilities are located at the back of the site which required us to use an extension hose for water as our intake is towards the front of the rig. Our 35' 50 amp cable was long enough to reach. We had a fire pit available but didn't use it. We also had a large picnic bench that we did use. There is no cable and we couldn't find any OTA tv signals but their wi-fi was flawless. The washrooms are clean with good access for the disabled. We didn't use the showers but they looked ok. The TP is extremely thin, single ply paper. Perhaps something to do with the septic system. There is a laundry with two washers and two dryers. $2 for a wash, $1 for the dryer. The grounds are well maintained and I did see the staff raking the sites when the opportunity arose. For children there is a play area close to the restaurant. Food at the bar/restaurant is excellent and I would recommend the burger or the beef sandwich. Traffic noise from the M-94 is minimal and didn't bother us at all. The flies and other bugs are ferocious but manageable. We really enjoyed our three nights here, feeling very safe and would certainly stop here again when next in the area. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are level and well spaced. Sites are gravel. Very peaceful campground. WiFi was not working when we were there because they were putting in a new system. Restaurant on site was excellent. I had whitefish and a salad. Both were very fresh. Cute atmosphere. Only complaint is that laundry had no seating, no place to hang clothes and the inside of the dryer wasn't clean. I had to wipe down the inside of the dryer door. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful setting, perfect place for family reunions with cabins, tent sites, FHU sites, on site store and an excellent restaurant. The camp hosts were wonderful; they are among the best we have encountered in our decades of RVing. They were well organized, welcoming us with suggestions of where to go and tips on how to best enjoy the area ("If you take a cruise to see the Painted Rocks, take the sunset cruise and sit on the right side of the boat.....and you had better go tonight because it is going to rain tomorrow! Go see the ghost town of Fayette and the crystal, clear, spring pool of Kitch-iti-kipi ") We just loved them! Sites are roomy and treed, most are level (a few of the overnight, pull thrus had mud ruts from the rain but I am confident those will be smoothed out as soon as they dry out from all the rain.) Our Verizon phones didn't work but the camp host loaned us their landline to book, yes, two seats on the sunset cruise to see the Painted Rocks...and we sat on the RIGHT side! We will definitely stay there again. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The host was correct: DO go see the lovely ghost town of Fayette on the tip of the Garden Peninsula! Once a bustling company town producing charcoal pig iron for Great Lakes steel companies, it's a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and do stop on your way back to see the beautiful pool of Kitch-iti-kipi and then have white fish Parmesan for dinner.

About half way between Manistique and Munising. In the Hiawatha National Forest. It's a bit confusing when you pull in as to where exactly you register. There is a sign for food and lodging having you think you should pull in to the left in front of the smokehosue. The better option is to stay to the right and park near the dump station. Check the store to register and if it's closed, try the smokehouse. Roads and sites are hard pack dirt. Sites are long and narrow, with large grassy patio area, picnic table and fire pit. Sites are level. Lots of tress so satellite is iffy. We got partial reception in #6. Lots of folks with ATVs so it can get a bit noisy. Utilities worked fine. There is cable although we did not use it. WiFi is very iffy at the site, much better if you sit over by the store. We could not get either T-Mobile or Verizon cell service at site, but soon after we left the RV park. Restrooms are old and uninviting but serviceable. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

We had a really great experience staying at Jack Pine Lodge. Staff was very kind, helpful, and accomodating. We stayed on site #26, which is on the end with only one neighbor next door. FULL hookups was wonderful!! No lake near camp, but just about same distance from lodge in either direction to Munising and Manistique. Restaurant on site with bar, really great food from what we heard. WiFi very spotty, no phone reception at all, which was nice as to not be bothered!! 3 and 4G in both towns. Very clean and beautiful campground, we will definitely be staying again!! We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a rustic campground in a rustic area halfway between Manistique and Munising on Rt 94. We parked here for a week in a long, level, pull through site with water/50A and sewer on dirt/stone with our 42 foot 5th wheel. There was poor wifi and no TV (over the air or cable) due to where this campground is located. The dirt roads for access leave your truck and RV dirty but you can wash them if necessary. The ability to have a nice campfire and the solitude of the outdoors among the pines was a nice effect. The folks here were very nice and tried to make your stay fun. We really liked the proximity to Munising and all the hiking, & kayaking for the National Seashore. It was a good stay for a week. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pictured Rocks boat tour was our main purpose for being here however, the kayaking and hiking trails were excellent alternatives in the National Lakeshore. Start by visiting the National Park Ranger Office for all the details of things to do. Coffee and free WiFi at the Bookstore Cafe in Munising were excellent!

Newer RV park associated with lodge. Big roomy sites, new, clean showers, large pine trees giving shade. That said, there was no cable or over the air TV, too much shade for satellite, and no Verizon service. Wifi was adequate. We left early as we wanted to watch football on Saturday. Monamonaco said it best. It appears that only the camp host, who was excellent, knew where the 30 & 50 amp sites were. We had to move once and it rained the entire 2 days we were there.

It'a very nice park. I think it's primary function is to accommodate ATV enthusiasts. There were some beauties here. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice, clean park with gravel roads and gravel pad at site. The rest of the site was sand and grass. Several pine trees throughout the park. They have a camp store where you check in and a small lodge/bar that serves great local beers and fantastic food, the servers are very friendly. They have some pull-thru sites and several back-in sites. Some of the back-in sights are very tight for a placing a 36' 5er because of the placement of the trees, but we managed, other sites are more open. Wifi is available in some areas, Verizon coverage is non-existent, you can find an open spot through the trees for satellite if you have a portable dish. Laundry area was clean but small, 2 washers and 2 dryers. Overall a great place and very enjoyable; highly recommended. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lovely quiet park halfway between Manistique and Munising. Level gravel site and nicely shaded. Decent spacing between sites. Park host sells wood at campground prices, but loads of wood for sale outside the park by private individuals at less than half the price. Nice walking path behind the park, away from everything so we could let our dog run and get some exercise. Only complaint (not about the park) is complete lack of Verizon service. Park has iffy wifi, satellite so doesn't work well when it's rainy. We camped at Jack Pine Lodge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
