We love, love, love Harbortown. We've stayed here many times and plan to do so again this year. It's always clean with lots of activities. We especially love coming here at Halloween because almost everyone participates, the kids collect lots of candy, and it's hard to visit all the sites within the one hour allowed for Trick or Treat. I'm writing this review because Site #103 is the worst site that we've stayed in so far. It is an end space right across from the bathroom and showers, so that's a plus, but it borders the main road and faces ALL the car and pedestrian traffic. This is especially annoying in the evening if you have a campfire, because you will be blinded by car headlights. If you sit outside during the day, there is zero sense of privacy. The lawn area also seemed much smaller than the other end sites along the road. We will specifically ask NOT to be put in this site ever again. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

One of the best options when visiting Detroit. It takes between 45 minutes to one hour to get to Motor City from the campground. The campground is nice, clean, has great customer service. Great full hookups, concrete pads, picnic tables, fire rings. Nice swimming pool, basketball, sand volleyball court as well. The negatives for me were the sites we're close together which made us feel we we're in a sea of RV's. The campground just feels a little generic and lacks character. No mature trees or anything that gives it a campground feel. More of an RV park. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but it is not a memorable spot. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Close to Kroger for groceries, but not much in the area. We drove an hour each way to Detroit most days.

This is a HUGE park, paved roads, paved pretty level sites and overall well kept. Many things for the kids to do, but some are not open yet as it is early in the season. We are on the south side of the park and right next to the train tracks, so everywhere in this park you will hear a train at some point. So far it has not been a problem, during the weekend, don't know how it is during the work week. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay, wonderful people that work there. Very clean and well maintained, water is really good and other hookups worked great. We had a site that even had cable! We would definitely go back when in the area. Some people have a problem with prices, however please keep in mind this is a resort with many amenities and activities. We enjoyed the people that work there and we will miss them. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This was our third Halloween visit. Many people decorate their campsite quite elaborately, and the kids come back with a huge haul of candy. (It can be hard to get through all of the campsites during the one hour Trick or Treat unless you move quickly LOL.) Almost everyone gives away candy, though most don't decorate extensively (we didn't decorate at all). The kids' activities are nice as well and separated by younger/older age groups. Crafts during the weekend that we visited included painting pumpkins and making Halloween bags (colored nice canvas bags with markers). There was a small charge for the activities - $4 for the pumpkin painting and $7 for the canvas bags (which I thought was well worth it). They had a 50/50 raffle (drawn during the Saturday night costume party - no need to be present because they will post the winning tickets outside of the office the next day). They also had a "guess the pumpkin weight" (for adults, who can win a one-night stay), and a "guess the number of candy corn pieces" in a container for the kids (for an undisclosed prize). While we didn't use the showers this time, we have done so during two of our Halloween visits when we owned a travel trailer that didn't have its own shower. They were always clean and well-maintained. There are other things for kids to do beyond the organized activities, and they also have a small, paved walking path at the back of the campground. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is my first negative post I have written in the 5 yrs. that we have been traveling.  We planed to stay at this park for 3 days but left after 2 and would have left sooner if we could have found another park, we couldn't wait to get out of this place. First of all the streets are very narrow with trees limbs hanging out into the roads. We were given a site that we couldn't get into because of the trees, we went to the office and they gave us two other sites to choose from, we were told to pick the one that works the best and call the office and give them our selection. We called to give them the site number of the one that would work and we were now told it wasn't available? They said people had reservations and were coming in later that day or the following day and we couldn't have the one we selected from the sites they gave us, I reminded them we also had reservations that we made seven months in advance and they were told at the time that we had a 45ft  motorhome, it wasn't my fault they assigned us a site that wasn't adequate for our MH.  I refuse to scratch the sides of our motorhome trying to park in a site that is not adequate for our size MH. When leaving the park after two days the park was half empty....I don't know what happened to all those so-called reservations. The truth of the matter is the owners are very argumentative and they certainly are not customer friendly, read carefully some of the other reviews and you will understand. Do yourself a favor and choose a different park. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice park with level sites very convenient to highway and town. If you're a golfer there's a nice course next door. Had plenty of room on our sites; we had to change 3 times because we decided to stay longer that originally anticipated. Wifi was great at our original site (139) but not so great at the others a bit farther from the office. Nice pool. Only issues we had was noise from other campers and it seems they do not have security after hours. A group near us was up at their campfire at 4:45 a.m. and continued that night until 2 a.m. the next morning. Passport America discount is limited. Not all sites have sewer and cable. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

With easy access from I-75, this is a nice park. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and while there are lots of rules, (as previously mentioned) they are for the good of the park and help maintain the overall neatness. The back-in spaces are tight for large 5th wheel rigs, and we were delayed getting to our site by someone who had got his rig hung up in a tree while trying to park and had to be extricated by the staff. Ours was a pull-through, concrete pad, and we had no problem setting up. The roads are paved, and the laundry, pool, bathrooms etc. were very clean. It seems to be a very family oriented park. The only negatives: the park does not accept discounts (Good Sam, Passport America) in July and August, and there is quite a bit of train noise from the railroad tracks at the back of the park. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Park is sandwiched between I-75, railroad tracks, and a golf course. Easy on and off I-75. You will hear some road noise from I-75, but it wasn't bad. Heard distance trains, but rarely. The two main park sections have good room between you and your neighbor. The Anchor Point section is tighter, but has some shade. The main sections have little shade. The main 30 amp section was almost empty during our stay. The 50 amp was half empty. Free WiFi worked reasonably. Verizon had 4 bars and satellite TV was no problem. The park does have numerous green spaces. Many campers had dogs, but they were not a problem. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We found the park to be beautiful, with large roads to drive onto. Backing in to our spot was the easiest parking ever. Each loop has inner pull-thrus and the outside of the loop is for back-ins. We had a back-in and it was easy. The park was very quiet and mostly occupied by us snowbirds reluctantly going back home... Pleasant staff, clean laundry room and facilities. Pool looks nice but was closed during our stay. There are plenty of activities on site to do, I assume it is much more active during the summer! Only "complaint": a railroad track at the back of the park. I'd return here using a Passport America rate. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Most people we know understand we travel for work. Some of our dearest friends have been made at the campgrounds we have stayed in. Well friends be warned, don't stay at HarborTown Rv Resort in Monroe Michigan. Unless you want to be subjected to constant calls and demands made by the owner. No rugs, 30$ golf cart fee and the last thing you can't let out your patio that is attached to your 2016 42 ft Open Range 5th wheel (even if you offer to do the lawn underneath). Sites are difficult to park in due to being narrow. We are easy to get along with but we were pushed to the limits at this place. Guess they won't miss our two year stay there. My wife and I have going to Harbortown for more than 10 yrs., recommending this park to fellow campers. But we have noticed a change in customer treatment and enforcement of printed rules. We see dogs off leash and site violations which seem to be ignored. On our last visit this month the next site campers returned from a day of fishing and parked their large boat on site and began cleaning fish, even though there is a fish cleaning station available. The office said they would check on this but never did. We went to the office and said we had family coming to visit and felt we shouldn't have to sit next to or smell the boat. The manager said too bad, the boat stays, it's not against the rules. Rule in the printed brochure explicitly said 1 vehicle and 1 camper per site. He was very rude and insulting and boasted that this was "my place" and if we didn't like it we could move on to another place. After we strongly expressed our opinion on the situation, we got a refund, left and went elsewhere. On leaving Harbortown another camper said others also had issues with management. To our surprise the sites at Sterling were larger, cheaper and with very friendly staff. Plus a nice view of Lake Erie. Our family arrived there and a good time was had by all! For a so called business owner (?) he needs to show respect for campers who support his business. We definitely will not return!!! And definitely not worth the $52 we paid per night, plus $4 per visiting guest. We camped in a motorhome. We camped at Harbortown RV Resort in a Motorhome.
