10 Parks near Mt Pleasant, Michigan
Aug 2016 - $62.00
Big rig friendly, long sites but not very wide. Small Campground. - KCook3
Jul 2016 - $60.00
The park is small, but clean. The office, restrooms, showers are all newer and in good condition. The sites are too small and they actually mowed the grass on our campsite while we were trying to bbq. - Gables
May 2016 - $67.00
The park is very overpriced. There is a very nice pool at the hotel that you can use (have to drive or take shuttle there) but little else about this park is nice.
Sites are paved, but narrow. Our site had a patch of dirt where previous seasonals had placed paving blocks to add small patio.
Easy to maneuver in park, and clean. There is a small lake there for fishing.
We had constant problems with low voltage at the park cutting out our surge protector. Took several complaints to get maintenance to come (office told me the maintenance guy had a bad attitude and might not come - and he didn't that day). They were unable to fix so we left early. Were told we would get a refund on last night but they didn't execute that. - MandK
Aug 2011 - $20.00
The campground was for sales and needs some updating. The park is well maintained, but the office is much in need of repair. There is no Wi-Fi and 3G service is spotty at best. - Softball29
Jul 2012 - $18.00
We love this little campground. It is a hidden gem in Mt Pleasant. It is beautiful with its tall trees and city park right next to it. A great place to relax and go to the Soaring Eagle Casino. You can take the shuttle or just drive 3 miles to it. - Gypsies11
Jul 2011 - $17.00
A little rustic, but this park offers large shaded 50 amp pull through sites in a beautiful wooded setting. In spite of all the tall trees, we had no problem getting satellite service. Posted price was $18 per night but the guy in the office must have thought I deserved a senior discount because he only charged us $17. I've stayed at campgrounds that weren't nearly as nice and charged over twice as much. - Same Old Bob
Jun 2011 - $17.00
This is one of the worst campgrounds I have ever been to. The restrooms and showers were not serviced except for adding toilet paper when needed. We couldn't even use the showers they were so filthy. The sites were OK but nothing special. There are no activities for families except for the pool. The administrative staff is not helpful at all and act like they have no clue. We will not be camping here again. - zippywafflehead
Aug 2016 - $15.00
Nice fairgrounds park, mainly level sites. No problem with the power but never more than 7 units here the whole week. Available dump station.
Stores within a few miles. There is a casino nearby. Some road noise but not bad.
Flea market on Wednesday morning but not many vendors. - mrracechaser
Jun 2016 - $15.00
Isabella County Fairgrounds offers water and electric sites, first come first serve, except during the fair. Pick up an envelope from the board at the entrance and put it in the mail slot in building J. This building, by the way, is at the other end of the fairgrounds. So if you aren't up for a bit of a hike, consider paying before you get settled. It's an honor system, and they accept Passport America. Most of the sites have 30amp service. There are about 8 sites on the back row that have 50 amp service. All sites are mostly level on grass which is well mowed, at least when we were there. Interior roads are gravel. There is one site 59, which we fortunately snagged, with partial shade. The rest of the sites are out in the open. Easy access getting in and out. The only ding is the road noise as the campground is situated at the corner of two very busy roads. A sign indicates that there is a flea market every Wednesday May-Sept, for those who are interested in that sort of thing. We camped here in a motorhome. There were only two other RVs in the campground. There is a dump. - Free
Jun 2015 - $15.00
Very nice large site with water & electric (30 amp). Sites were grass & newly cut. The staff was very nice & helpful. we would definitely stay here again. - bonniesoo
Jul 2012 - $27.00
Wonderful campground -quiet, secluded, large sites and fabulous bathrooms/showers. My husband commented that in our 2 years of full-timing they were the best showers yet! AT&T cell service - 1 bar, used our Verizon air card for decent connection and Verizon cell service was pretty good. Mostly level spots. Sites included an in-ground fire pit and table. There is a small pond with a circulating waterfall in it that people could swim in with a very small beach. There is a game room with 2 pool tables, only one of which was working, air hockey and some other games. They also have a slightly covered area for groups with picnic tables. The campground host/maintenance guy was great. The office has interesting hours - opening at 10 but they were never in the office when we came by. They are a Good Sam park but when I called to make a reservation I was told they had no discounts and my credit card was charged the full rate. Upon our arrival there was a big Good Sam sign at the front of the park and when I asked for my discount one of the women at the desk told me I could only use that when I purchased my membership, the other woman corrected her and then the first got kind of indignant that I actually wanted that small amount ($2.70) refunded. We stayed an extra night and went in twice to try to pay and request the discount again to be credited but at our check out they had yet to run our credit card for the second night. I hope when they do run it they apply the $5.40 two night discount! We would definitely return. - Bill & Debby's Wild Ride
Jun 2015 - $25.00
The only thing that kept this park from a 10 is that there was no water hookup. We're fine without a sewer connection, but having to run our hose (had to buy a longer section of hose) to fill up the fresh tank every 2 days was a bit of a pain. Thankfully there was a spigot within 100 ft for the entire circle of sites to use. The park was empty for most of our stay, which was so nice to relax to. Our site was grass and pretty level. We were close to the playground and the surrounding woods and trails were a lot of fun with the kids. Staff was helpful the entire time and everything was cleaned very regularly and kept in good order. Access road was gravel and even though it had just been graded, it was very slow going on the way out. - Living Our Dash
Aug 2016 - $12.00
You have a choice of shaded or open sites. I believe the 50A sites are all out in the open. I chose a 30A site where I could get my portable dish locked on and still be in the shade most all day. The water hookups were more like a fairgrounds with 1 hookup serving maybe 5 or 6 rev's. A dump station is also available.
Other than a church camp the first 2 weeks in August, I don't think this c/g gets much use. It really is a nice place to stay but not much to do in the area. Some road noise early in the morning. - mrracechaser
Aug 2015 - $10.00
Nice park what a jewel and the family who run it are great people very friendly.
We were blessed finding this CG. Our rally was being held at another campground and they started having electrical problems so one of our group did a search on this site and called to see if they had opening for our rally of 15 5th wheels. Great big lots big rig accessible.
The cost is $20 a night Passport America discount $10 a night for the whole week. Every one liked it so much we reserved spots for next year. - JustDon
Aug 2015 - $10.00
We held a small (15 RVs) rally here. This is a Church of God campground that has recently opened for the public. It is also Passport America. It's 2 miles outside Saint Louis in the country. Half the park is in a shaded area with mature trees with water and 30a. The other half is in the open with water and 50a or 30a. They rent ($25/day) an air conditioned building where we conducted our rally activities. There are two large bathhouses/bathrooms. There is a large covered pavilion with an adjacent fire ring. The roads are gravel and the sites are grass. You can easily pull through open sites making then pull a through. The sites are level. There is some road noise from Bagley and M46. The Verizon cell phones and hotspots worked well as did the 50a and water. There was another RV rally here, they were in the 30a shaded area and we were in the 50a open area. LOTS of room in this park. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. We are very pleased we found this gem of a campground. - big greg
Jul 2016 - $38.00
A fun, family oriented park. I noticed some litter around here and there. Not horrible, but there. Great swimming pond, pool, and river. Lots of activity, and fun for everyone. Sites are tight. Probably set up years ago when everyone had small campers. I wasn't the only one squeezing my camper into our site. Free WIFI worked good for us. I like this park and will stay here again. But you have to talk to someone and make sure the site you get will accommodate you. I had 2 trees on my site that prevented me from parking my Truck there. Things are kinda tight. - Greaseman93
Jul 2014 - $38.00
This is a beautiful campground, we were in the front section which is very peaceful with large patio sites. The main campground sites back on to the river and surround the pond, these sites are quite tightly spaced and are busy. The main campground appears to be quite busy. They have a large wet slide in the pond, they also have tubing and kayak rentals.Make sure you stock up as there are no stores close by. - acadiandave
Jul 2013 - $38.00
Let's start with the good. We were in the very front section of the park so this review pertains to that part only. Nicely landscaped park with a lot of shade trees. Paved roads, gravel sites, huge concrete patios in the pull-through section in the front of the park. Water and power both good. No cable, no Wi-Fi. Now the strange stuff. No escort to site. The office is located towards the center of the park, past some sites and the propane station. So, if you need propane, you need to either unhook and back up the hill or drive through the entire park to get back to the station. Then your propane fill valve is on the wrong side. Or to get back up to the front section, these actions are also required. A minor pain but I feel you need to know. Not sure we would stay here again, at least for an overnight. - axtoncampers
