The primary attraction here is camping right on Lake Superior. This self-serve park is pretty basic, some sites with trees on either end of the park and open sites in the center. Dirt roads in the park have a few ruts. They have added a new shower house on the west end of the park that looks quite nice. On a busy road a couple of miles from town so biking not an option. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pictured rocks are beautiful, tour boats offered throughout the day. The sand dunes are also worth seeing. Fall foliage between Munising and St Ignace is spectacular. Nice golf course in the area as well.

We had a satellite friendly, Lake Superior front spot. This place is gorgeous. Not too windy, since it is on a little bay. The road are a little rutted, but fine as long as you drive slow. Staff was pretty non existent, since we were here off season. We made friends with a couple of the local ducks, that came every day looking for munchies.
Verizon mifi, Vz and AT&T cell phones worked fine. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets from our site.
Easy maneuvering our 35' fifth wheel and long bed dually. We will definitely return. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Family Fare Grocery Store in Munising, about 10 minutes away. Several places to eat in town, diesel fuel at a better price than surrounding towns, and a couple miles from the boat tour docks.

Really Nice Waterfront Campground. Many sites on water. Some sites OK for Direct TV. Pet Friendly, many tents sites on water. Some pull throughs. Small beach, shallow close to shore. Stayed during Labor day, crowded but not overly. Enjoyed our stay. 5 local TV Channels. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Picture Rock Golf Course worth the time. About 5 miles. Great Shape and some fairways wide. Picturesque.

First the good part. This park is easy to find, and only 10 minutes west of Munising. It is right on the water. You can walk your dog along the beach, and the water looked shallow quite a way out and inviting (except it was frigid). ATT signal was good. As for the bad, it is a sand pit with a little grass here & there near the sites. You will have sand in your rig. It is dusty, & vehicles do not follow the speed limit, raising clouds of dust. Lots of campfires at night, & lots of smoke. Sites that border the lake are beautiful, but the sand is very soft so its best for smaller rigs. There are two paved sites (43 & 44). They are listed as handicapped, but they give them to anyone booking them. One road had a huge mud puddle in it which indicated a water leak. At the intersections, and in some sites, there was sticky mud & it had not rained for a week. On weekends this place is packed. There are site markers, but don't be surprised if someone pulls in between sites, or sets up a tent between rigs. Its basically a free for all, and you can park at any angle or direction. Bring lots of hoses and extension cords. Some of the water spigots are split 4 ways and can be a distance away. Same for electric. Ads and website say you can get a FHU site. We paid for one, and then discovered that there is no sewer. There are dump outlets at some sites, but apparently the system is inop. Never saw anyone hook up. Our "FHU" site did not have a sewer outlet at all. Wifi is super weak; so weak we could not log on although I could see the antenna. All of the sites are dirt, and if it rains you need to beware of the mud in the sites and roads. Roads are very potholed. It looks like they have not been graded in years. No cable and no over the air channels, so bring your satellite. This place could be a gem, but the city just wants the income but does not want to do the investment. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Munising is a tiny town. You can buy fuel and a pastie and a t shirt, but not much else. Found a liquor store, but not a super market. So bring what you need. Nothing much in the camp store. There is a well stocked ACE hardware. If you come here do a pictured rocks cruise; that is why this place exists. Good cruise ($37).

This park in on the shoreline of Lake Superior with a cool lake breeze most of the time especially in Sept when we visited. The park is clean but only offers limited RV supplies in the office. Dumpsters are available. Lots of grass and some trees. DISH sat set up worked our site. Munising is a small town that is great for visiting Pictured Rocks Nat. Lakeshore. We would return. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the local Coffee Shop at the stop light near the harbor. Great coffee, ice cream and sandwiches as well as lots of books.

Very busy campground that seems to run itself. Never saw an employee other than in the office. If you can score a lakefront site, you'll be in heaven. The sites are clean and ours was level. Wifi was not good. The campground needs to have the random litter picked up near the woods. Sites are spacious. The location is the big draw here. The campground if it was located anywhere else would probably get a 7. Roads need to be regraveled or paved because of standing water and potholes. We were able to get a satellite signal. We loved it. Your GPS will probably steer you wrong. If your coming from the east on hwy. 28, keep heading west. DO NOT GO EAST. After coming through Munising, you'll drive up a hill and see a Holiday Inn Express on the right. The campground is approximately a 1/4 mile past the Holiday Inn on the right. The green sign blends in and is set too far off the road. Just keep a watchful eye after the Holiday Inn and you'll be fine. These are directions coming from the EAST. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Casino a couple of miles down the road, not the greatest but close to even after a couple of visits. Best meal was the fish at Sydney's. We also did the Pictured Rocks cruise. We also enjoyed a visit to the Great Sable Dunes and Munising Falls.

We loved this park! We were fortunate enough to get a lakeside site (94) and the view was spectacular. We had a beautiful sand beach with shallow water right on our campsite. We spent hours just soaking in the view. Some of the lakefront sites were close together so we really liked our site as it was double wide.

The park itself was clean, mostly quiet, and reasonable for full hook ups. The only bad things I could even think of were that we couldn't get the free wifi from our site so you had to walk up to the office to get on and you could hear the highway from time to time. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were here the week after the 4th. Nice campground on Munising Bay (Lake Superior). We had a lakefront site that was all sand! I would've preferred grass, but it was OK. We were here after a heavy rain. Lots of standing water on the roads and on some sites. Some time spent with a grader and some gravel would do wonders! Water and electric hookups were in good shape. Brand new shower house and dump station this year! Perfect campground for seeing the area. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring kayaks to tour Grand Island! Or rent a pontoon boat. Along with all the other tours offered.

View of Lake Superior and sunsets were fabulous. Very accessible to boat tours and National Park visitors Center. Site under trees, so could not use satellite. Great wi-fi. Limited 50 amp sites. Level, pull thru site. Lake side sites were adequate, not spacious. Tent sites long way from shower building. Very popular, so need reservations in advance. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Shipwreck glass bottom boat tour, Pictured Rocks boat tours offered unique experiences. Bob's IGA in town for groceries.

Great family campground right on Lake Superior. You need to make reservations well in advance, particularly if you want a lakefront site. Apparently full hookup sites 88 - 100 were added a couple of years ago and they are much narrower than the older lake front sites. While not obvious on the on-line park map they are all different sizes - some very narrow. Our site 95 was narrow but had a bush on the patio side that helped with privacy. Site 96 was even narrower - at one point during our 6 day stay a trailer in that site extended their awning & it was about 12 inches from the side of our motor home. However, the lakefront sites are well worth it - the views are incredible. Our fire ring was full of old ashes, apparently the park staff, unlike other parks we have been to, doesn't clean out the fire ring so we had to fill 2 trash bags with ashes before we could use the fire ring. The park offers "free Wi-Fi" - maybe we were too far away from the source but we could never stay connected to their Wi-Fi for any length of time. Our Verizon MiFi worked fine. Our DirecTV dish worked after moving further back in our site. We would return if ever in the area again. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Pictured Rocks Boat Tour was incredible. Lots of waterfalls in the area.

New waterfront sites, 88 thru 100, all back-in with 30/50 amp service, sewer, and water, gravel, new grass planted, new trees. Showers and restrooms are sparkling clean (new). Dump station appears new. The new sites are mere steps from the beach and the 50 degree water of Lake Superior. Grand Island across the strait. No cable and HDTV is bare-bones, 4 channels with one network station. Easy access to and from the campground, and the host was friendly and helpful. This wasn't a good time of the year for mosquitoes and midges, in swarms, everywhere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return when in the area. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Must do the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Plan to visit Munising Falls, Miner's Falls; pickup the "Discover Munising Waterfalls & Lighthouses" pamphlet at the visitor center. The Pictured Rocks Cruise is great. You just can't see it from the trails like you do from the boat. Pick a day when the water isn't bumpy...lots of seasick folks on one excursion this week.

We were not impressed with this campground. The interior roads are in bad shape, with lots of pot holes. The area had a significant amount of rain prior to our arrival and many of the sites were under water. Since there was very little, if any, gravel on the sites the sites very sloppy wet and muddy. The restrooms need to be updated and a good cleaning! After looking inside the restroom, there was no way we planned to use those facilities. We did not check out the showers. If we were to visit this area again I doubt we would stay here. But if we did, we would use the full hookup sites since they looked to be in much better condition compared to the site we stayed on. We had Verizon service but did not try our Verizon Hot Spot. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a fairly rustic campground. The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. Some of the roads are paved, but after a rain storm there was some standing water. Our site was grass and fairly level, we had a sewer hook up, but not all sites do. Utilities are side by side, so make sure you bring enough to reach. Big rig access was fair. Fairly quiet, but there was some road noise, plenty of space for our towed, lots of grass, fire ring and picnic table. The bathrooms were clean, but old. There was no laundry. Pet friendly and a wonderful beach to walk your pets on. Wi-Fi and cell were good. There are food stores and some local restaurants in Munising, and lots of sightseeing close by. This is just a plain and simple City Park, it's very popular and the water view sites get booked up very quickly, so plan ahead, it's well worth it! This place is all about the view, we were steps from Lake Superior and a beach. Wonderful views during the day and lovely sunsets at night. We would stay here again.  We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

You can't beat the view of Lake Superior at this park! Some sites actually on the lake, and access to the beach. It was wonderful. The park should consider treating the road, as it was very dusty every time someone drove through, and the Wi-Fi signal wasn't too dependable. It's just west of the downtown area, not too far from all the touristy stuff. Explore the local waterfalls, tour the rocks from the water, and grab dessert at the Falling Rock Cafe (the Munising Marvel sundae is exceptional). The park is nice, no trouble getting in and out with a big rig, and the owners were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning to the area and staying here again! We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park offers an amazing view of Lake Superior. Book EARLY to get a lakeside spot. They have a new bath house that is updated and an "old" one that is worn. They kept the grounds and bathrooms neat and clean. If we are ever back in the UP we will definitely camp here. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
