This park offers an amazing view of Lake Superior. Book EARLY to get a lakeside spot. They have a new bath house that is updated and an "old" one that is worn. They kept the grounds and bathrooms neat and clean. If we are ever back in the UP we will definitely camp here. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Pictured rocks boat tours and sunken ship glass bottom boat tours. Also one of the top beaches in the US.

This is a fairly rustic campground. The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. Some of the roads are paved, but after a rain storm there was some standing water. Our site was grass and fairly level, we had a sewer hook up, but not all sites do. Utilities are side by side, so make sure you bring enough to reach. Big rig access was fair. Fairly quiet, but there was some road noise, plenty of space for our towed, lots of grass, fire ring and picnic table. The bathrooms were clean, but old. There was no laundry. Pet friendly and a wonderful beach to walk your pets on. Wi-Fi and cell were good. There are food stores and some local restaurants in Munising, and lots of sightseeing close by. This is just a plain and simple City Park, it's very popular and the water view sites get booked up very quickly, so plan ahead, it's well worth it! This place is all about the view, we were steps from Lake Superior and a beach. Wonderful views during the day and lovely sunsets at night. We would stay here again. We were not impressed with this campground. The interior roads are in bad shape, with lots of pot holes. The area had a significant amount of rain prior to our arrival and many of the sites were under water. Since there was very little, if any, gravel on the sites the sites very sloppy wet and muddy. The restrooms need to be updated and a good cleaning! After looking inside the restroom, there was no way we planned to use those facilities. We did not check out the showers. If we were to visit this area again I doubt we would stay here. But if we did, we would use the full hookup sites since they looked to be in much better condition compared to the site we stayed on. We had Verizon service but did not try our Verizon Hot Spot. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

You can't beat the view of Lake Superior at this park! Some sites actually on the lake, and access to the beach. It was wonderful. The park should consider treating the road, as it was very dusty every time someone drove through, and the Wi-Fi signal wasn't too dependable. It's just west of the downtown area, not too far from all the touristy stuff. Explore the local waterfalls, tour the rocks from the water, and grab dessert at the Falling Rock Cafe (the Munising Marvel sundae is exceptional). The park is nice, no trouble getting in and out with a big rig, and the owners were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning to the area and staying here again! We stayed two nights in this campground, paying $28 for one campsite, and $32 for the second. The second campsite was a pull-through and was in closer proximity to the lake and thus more costly. This is a nice municipally owned campground, right on a bay in Lake Superior. Grand Island is in front of the bay, so the waters are very protected. Many campsites are right on the water, and people had their kayaks and canoes pulled up on the shore. Campers gather at the shore (or on the water in their boats) to watch the lovely sunset each night. The campground itself is plain and simple, the sites are level and the utilities easy to reach. Some of the sites are shaded. This campground is very popular and many campers reserve their spots in advance. Call at the last minute (as we did) and be prepared to move from night to night. Munising is the town on the western edge of the spectacular Pictured Lakes National Lakeshore. The boat and kayak tours of the beautiful Pictured Rocks cliffs leave from Munising. There is also the lovely Grand Island to visit as well. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Beautiful little park!! A true gem by Lake Superior! Lots of people and lots of kids, kind of on the noisy side but everyone was having a great time. This was our 3rd park staying in Michigan and we think it was a nice stay and a fairly good location. Had it not been at Lake Superior though there wouldn't have been much reason to stay here. We would return, but would try to go when it isn't the height of tourism season. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This campground is right on Lake Superior and we had a site with full hookups, but it wasn't very level. Our end was more organized but the other end of the park had sites that were hodge podge and people were crammed in there. Some of the sites were far from the water and needed extra long hookups. We stayed one night and the sunset was spectacular but feel it was a bit over-priced. It was on the highway but the noise quieted down in the evening. Rate listed is for 50 amp & water site. Per the staff, the Full hookup sites are reserved well ahead of time - often in October of the previous year. Location is what really makes this a great park. Not only is it on Lake Superior, but it is only a short drive to Munising and the Pictured Rocks National Park. Verizon cell service & MiFi service both worked here as did our roof mounted satellite. Park could be greatly improved if someone were to come through and re-align the utilities. We saw some folks with 3 hoses connected together to reach the water hookups! The power hookups were also out of position in most of the sites. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Park is located in a very beautiful setting on Lake Superior, just west of Munising. Roads and sites are dirt/gravel with some sites being on grass. Our site backed to the lake and had full hookups and was level. Many sites are just water/electric, and the water connection is at the road, so it could be some distance. The views are just spectacular, especially at sunset. There is some road noise and the interior roads can kick up some dust. Many sites are shaded but it is not heavily wooded, so we were able to use our satellite dish. Wi-Fi is free and is very fast. What a great place to stop. The location and good restrooms/showers is about all this campground has to recommend. Office (old and junky looking) was never open and we saw attendant only once. Two pieces of playground equipment are old and worn. Sites are grass, but fairly level. The location on Lake Superior gives this park a lot of potential, but it needs updating and to be better maintained. The $37 for full hook-up is a bit over-priced compared to other places. In spite of the negatives, we would stay here again just because of the view. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo
Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $26.00
We stayed here to take the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore boat tour. The layout for the lesser priced sites is odd as others have stated. That said, they are level. Most sites have a view of the lake. The sunsets were fantastic. One can overlook a lot for the views and the water. We stayed here coming and going in our travels of the U.P. Would stay again. This campground is right on the shore of Lake Superior, so what more could you want? We had a good 50amp electric hookup and water, a very large site which was grass and flat. We weren't on the water, but had a great view. The dump station was easy to get it and out and worked just fine. There is some highway noise, but it's not bad. This is a very handy location for taking the "Pictured Rocks" cruises and the "Glass Bottom Boat Shipwreck Tours". There's also a ferry to Grand Island and an easy drive to views along the Pictured Rocks shoreline. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This is a pretty nice basic park on the lake. Level sites. Only complaint we had was the showers on the one end were real old and need to be cleaned with a bucket of soapy bleach water, a brush and water hose (and possibly a shovel). They smell bad. Not sure if because they are old or need cleaning. Otherwise, it is a nice place reasonably priced. Watch out for the mosquitoes. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $23.00
The park is very different and was not laid out by an RVer. There are water hookups at the front and back of many sites with 4 on each post. The electric seemed to have 2-30 amp. There was no reason for where the connections were placed. The Wi-Fi was very marginal. I got dropped several times when someone else loged on. If you went to the bathrooms you could get a better connection. They would do better callling it a hot spot. People seemed to park anyplace and not be concerned about lots. It was very loosely run but still nice. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Great location close to Pictured Rocks boat cruise and Munising attractions. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are in need of updates, but were clean. We stayed in spot 8 which was very spacious and right on the lake. Would have given it a higher rating had it not been for the road noise. We would stay here again but would sacrifice power for the seclusion of the tent sites. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo
