Good camp to use for touring Marquette and points east. We were on site 84, one of the few long pull thrus. Reserve early as these sites fill up quickly. Not that many campgrounds in this part of the UP, so this is a good one. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

As mentioned before, stay here for the view of the lake, but be prepared to use your own RV bathroom and shower. Booked a pull-thru for a 45' MH, but arrived to find room to level an RV half the length with a slope more than 2 feet from back to front and too narrow to pull through and turn out to leave. No other sites available, so redirected to the overflow area which was nicer, not flooded, on an open grassy area, and level, with 30A and water. Host was helpful in relocating us. Without full hookups, planned on using the showers and bathroom, but found very damp floors throughout and poorly lit. Two box fans were on the floor but were ineffective and while there was a heavy rain the night before, no excuse for not having clean and dry facilities. Stable power throughout the storms the night after arrival, but rough and pothole-filled gravel interior roads were all flooded - poor drainage and infrastructure maintenance. Few options to choose from in the area, but would not return to this campground. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Base for visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. 5 minutes from tour boat to see the park. Directly on the shoreline of Lake Superior - expect wind! Few FHU sites, good W/E - as mentioned before might need longer hoses, etc. Managed 2 nights in a waterfront sight with 24 hours lead time. Best for MoHo's - can drive in for the view. Limited OTA signal, good WiFi thru-out. Clean bathrooms/shower house. Friendly, helpful staff. Would stay here again. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Right on Lake Superior. The hookups are shared between 2 sites so some jockeying around to be able to hookup. Need extensions. Like some, we parked across our site and did not pull/back in. Got us closer to the hookups and a better view of the lake. Some highway noise but didn't bother us. Awesome to watch a big storm, w/ lightning/thunder come across the lake about midnight. The wind rocked our camper when it got here but no damage. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Pictured Rocks cruise at sunset is a don't miss. Get in line an hour before boarding to get best seats (top, right side). Gift shop at docks had great tee shirts. We enjoyed the Pictured Rocks Interpretive Center. A few waterfalls visible from highway but most require a hike to see.

If you have a lake site this is an amazing campground. We booked the site months in advance, but the people next to us were lucky enough to get their site that day. The lake sites are on the beach with beautiful sunsets. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great sites right on beach, some extremely large. Also have some sites will sewer hookups. Also several good size sites just off beach with a public picnic area on beach. Tent sites also located in sand steps from the Lake. Gorgeous sunsets. Bathrooms and shower warm and clean. Very small store at registration office. Manager is very nice but one female employee not so nice. Speeds through campground on golf cart, does not admit blame and very unfriendly. Manager and views to make up for her. Be prepared with extra cords and hoses as the hook ups are closer to the road than you may want to park. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Average county park with under developed sites. Water and Electric only. Park on the grass in most cases. Dirt roads but good Dump Station. Friendly staff but really just a place to hang your hat for a few days. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a city owned park. We had a back in site on Lake Superior. The view was a 10. This is the only reason to stay at this park. Great views of the Lake. The campsite and overall facilities are no better than a 5. Had difficulty getting into our site and even worse leaving. Cars parked everywhere and any where. All sites are dirt and the roads are dirt. Dust when dry, muddy when rainy. Minimal grass. Overall the campsite is poorly maintained. No supervision. Dogs off of leashes everywhere. We loved the view - but will not return. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Reserve ahead of time because the sites next to Lake Superior are excellent and $36 per night with water and electric can't be beat. As mentioned in every other review, bring extension cords and extra water lines. There's lots to do in the near by town of Munising, don't miss a Pictured Rocks Tour around sunset - amazing. Many of the lots are gravel/grass and are not perfectly level but we were fine in our 37' MH. We were there in late June and the mosquitoes weren't bad but we went over to Grand Island and were nearly carried off... No amount of bug spray would help, save the $20 ferry charge and stay on the mainland. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Park spaces were somewhat close...most importantly was the water spigot that serviced 2 sites....long distance apart! Bring a long hose! Lake sites were all taken, and of course, the closer to the road you are...the more road noise...which is pretty loud if the wind is blowing the right way. Tips for other Campers:

Pictured Rocks boat tour was interesting...but would suggest the evening cruise, and the rocks were not as colorful at 11 AM. Definitely bring a jacket in June, and possibly a lap quilt! It is cold on the lake!

Great view from site 37, not water front but nice open area next to us. Hook ups are a little scattered so be sure you have extension cords and hoses. Staff were friendly and easy to deal with. Beautiful setting a few miles from town. Water front sites are sandy and become a little bit of a mess during rains but offer great lake views. Sunsets are as good as they come!!!! Tips for other Campers:

Book well in advance - the park was full our entire stay. Take the Pictured Rocks Cruise at sunset. It's worth every penny just get there early to get in line for the upper deck seating. No major chain stores nearby so stuff costs a little more but keeps the small town feel alive. Cork Town bar was great!!!!!! Be sure and take the country drives - all are great.

Beautiful campground right on Lake Superior. Many of the sites edge right up to the beach and those that are set further back still have lake views and are only steps from the lake. There is a ribbon of beach that runs the length of the campground and is great for a stroll (or dog walk). You'll get a great sunset every night. Lots of places to walk a dog. The campground is not far from Munising, so it is a great location for exploring Pictured Rocks. Some pull-thrus, more back-ins. Minuses: no sewer, only one dump station, and the utilities are on the back of many sites --- I needed 2 water hoses. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots of sand in the restrooms but they got cleaned everyday. Very roomy in the area we were in, lakefront. Easy to get around. Rained hard one day, drainage was an issue in some areas of the park. We were OK. Staff very helpful. We had to have some mail sent here and they were prompt with delivery. We camped at Munising Tourist Park Campground in a Motorhome.
