Overall Rating:

This campground is very difficult to find if you are arriving for the first time. We traveled to meet a group of friends and each of us got seriously lost. The direction signs are terrible. For 2017 the campground is way behind expected services. Like 50 amps or WIFI. It lists itself as modern but I would say primitive. Our site was electric only. We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Motorhome.

We're traveling for three months and seeing a wide variety of RV parks. This is the absolute worst we have ever seen. Park is far from town, other parks in the area are much closer. Park is a dustbowl. Dry dirt covers the entire park. Electric only sites. Water and sewer dump are 10-15 feet apart, and only one of each in entire park. Also observed other campers washing feet from fresh water fill hose. This is a serious health hazard. WiFi only works if you stand directly under the antenna at the bathhouse. Only two showers for men and two for women in the park and they were dirty most of the time. When WiFi issue was addressed with manager/owner, his attitude was "Well mine works here at the office". A promised follow-up never happened. If you're going to a primative, desolate, isolated park just to get away this place will work. If you're planning to see nearby sites and want a reasonably comfortable, clean park with some amenities, keep driving. As a retired fire chief, I'm also disappointed that the owner/manager would deceive the public with such filthy offerings. We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Travel Trailer.

This is the kind of place in the woods you want to bring your kids or grandkids for a week. It has the feeling of a campground from 50 years ago. Pretty little fishing and small-boat lake with "just okay" sandy beach. Rent paddleboats, canoes or kayaks. Playground with tetherball and a big sand volleyball court. The sites are a mixed bag, some tight, some spacious, some level, some not. My site only had 20 amp, so be sure to ask before arrival if you need 30. The WiFi only works right at the office, and Verizon cell and data service works on and off (mostly off) - one bar at best. AT&T data is "no service." Long trail through the woods to walk your dog. The park is about a 15 minute drive into Munising. This is a good place to relax in a setting pretty as a postcard. We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Motorhome.

Great campground. Very friendly staff. Had a wonderful stay despite the UP mosquitoes! The road in was gravel and had a few potholes requiring you to drive pretty slow. If it hasn't rained, it is a bit dusty with the cars coming and going. The sites are generally pretty big with a lot of trees. Most of the campground is 20 amp with a few 30 amp. No water or sewer hookups, but the dump station and water source was easily accessible. Nice lake with kayaks and boats to rent. Play area for kids and a nice volley ball pit and net. The staff will deliver firewood to your site when you buy it. We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I'm not sure why one camper said the spaces were too small. Perhaps it was because all of the larger sites were already occupied. Actually we were able to easily park our 33 foot fifth wheel on the site assigned to us.

We arrived on the Saturday of Memorial Day week-end (we did have a reservation). It is definitely a family campground and there were lots of children having lots of fun all the while being well behaved!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. When the owner found out that we were touring lighthouses on the Great Lakes he gave us a very nice scale model lighthouse that he had purchased recently.

Our only complaint was all the sand and bugs but that is simply because of the nature of the area. Otherwise it was great. We would stay here again. It is the epitome of a woodsy, on a lake campground! We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for a week and loved it! The location is perfect, as it is convenient to the area attractions, such as Sandy Point Beach and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and numerous boat tours. We were never bored for a minute, and neither were our young children. There is a nice beach(not for swimming), cheap boat rentals, fishing, sand volley ball, giant sandbox, basketball, swingset, et cetera. The bathrooms were the nicest/cleanest I've seen at a campground. Hosts were great and very friendly. Wifi was available. This is a remote campground for nature-lovers. We found it truly refreshing. It did seem like a tight squeeze for some of the bigger rv's, and the lodges didn't look too impressive from the outside. We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Tent Trailer.

Our first trip in our RV. Beautiful location and close to town. We did not travel with children but playground needs updating. Bathrooms clean. Shower water pressure was good but not much ventilation. Needed a longer hose for water so office gave us one to use during our stay. Large sites with plenty of shade. We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Motorhome.

Beware of this place, if in a larger RV or with slides, while 1 or 2 sites may work, it is not big rig (or medium rig) friendly at all. The website says: "A magnificent setting with full modern facilities." Well maybe 30 or 40 years ago, not now. Most sites are electric only (or no electric) and not very level. We were hitting branches on the driveway in, with our 35' MH. There is a water station for filling, no water hookups at site. Verizon had no service here. It was a real short stay for us. We camped at Otter Lake Campground and Lodges in a Motorhome.
