The site maps are poorly written and the roads are not marked clearly. This caused us to have to circle a few times before finding our site. The entire park is sandy. It would be so much nicer if they would gravel the road and sites. Our neighbor had trouble leveling his rig on his site but we did not have the same issue on ours. The sites are very close together and the shady area is heavily wooded. It sounded nice to us, but the reality is that it is far too densely populated for all of the campfires and with the thick amount of trees it leaves thick smoke in the campground most of the time. This was a problem for a family member who's asthma flared up significantly while we were there. Fire rings of fellow campers are very close to your rig here. The spots without shade are at the entrance of the campground. The laundry was clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the overflow F3 with electric only. We had trouble getting into any of the campgrounds in this area so were happy to have an overflow spot. We expected awnings to be touching with other overflow residents. I must say ... I think we had the best spot in the whole place. If you are staying here in a full service site this would be good. Many sites are electric only or electric & water only so you are all sharing the restrooms. They are clean but you have only two showers for this whole place. They need to add more showers. While others may not complain; I did not like the shower head being directly over my head. There is no chance of not wanting to wash your hair one night. Other than that ... you are so close to many attractions which was our draw. We stayed here for 6 nights, conserved on our water tanks, black & gray, and made out great. Never needed to use the Blue Boy. We even think that if we stay here again and can not get into a full service up in the front area; we would consider asking for the overflow area. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.

KOA has a lot of work to do here to represent its brand. This is truly a campground, not an RV park. Our biggest complaint is that we made reservations in February for a 50 amp FHU site, and when we arrived, we were told the site they assigned us did not have functional sewer. Apparently there was a blockage in the line. Said they'd try to get to it when things slowed down. No effort to call us, put us in another site, offer to run a line to another sewer trap. Oh, but no problem, we have a dump station. Dump stations are fine when you're on your way out, not in the middle of a stay. Four nights in a large motorhome with two toilets, shower, washer/dryer and dishwasher meant we had to change our normal routines. Very disappointed in how this was handled. Our site was in the front, in a grassy, sandy open field. The site was level and spacious. We could not get satellite reception due to large trees. The cable was fine, as was the internet. The restrooms were very uninviting and overcrowded. Three toilets and two showers for a very large campground. Convenient location. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.

Worst campground we have ever stayed at! Small, tight spots, no picnic table, no fire ring. Camper on right side was so close (about 2 feet) there was no way to put awning out. Just enough room on left side to put slide out. Water smelled like sewer. Campers complaining about lots. Worst ever! This is a KOA campground. When I emailed them about the lot, they were no help at all. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is now a KOA. Pricing varies on whether you have 20 or 30 amp, water or pull thru. I don't have kids and typically don't stay at KOAs because of the cost. Office staff is a bit disorganized with new system. This is a popular tourist area and you will need reservations. Most of the sites are in nice shade. Lots of sand and dust from unpaved roads. Seems to be a great park if you have little ones. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.

The area had a lot of rain lately and the dirt roads and our site were mud pits. Gravel would be a huge improvement. When we booked this in April it was not a KOA so we were surprised when we drove up and saw the sign. When we checked in she said it was $110 I did not think this was correct but did not have the exact number as this was the only reservation we have made during our eight weeks (and 17 different campgrounds) that did not send us an email confirmation. I checked my itinerary later and saw that they had quoted me $97. Since this is the week our friends were joining us, KOA charges five dollars extra per person after the first two. When we got to our site which was a long shady pull through we noticed our picnic table was right up against the neighbor's picnic table and if we were to try to sit around our fire pit we would literally be sitting in the other people's site. We asked to be moved to another site. They said they couldn't move us but sent someone down to move the picnic table and fire pit. They do not give you your site number when booking. Many of the sites are companion sites which mean you are facing your neighbor and your picnic table is right next to theirs. Be prepared for mud if it has been raining. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.

Very close to Grand Island ferry, Munising, and Pictured Rocks NS. Deep woods, in September wasn't too crowded. Great alternative to Tourist RV park which was very busy and looked to be very smoky from all the firewood being sold. We are in a big rig. We were parked in the field in the front which was fine. looked a little tight in the back. This was a place to park and hook up while we visited picture rocks. Road noise didn't bother us. Front is a wide open field with full hookups. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.

This was the 4th time I have camped at this site over the last 13 years. I won't stay here again after this last experience.

I tent camped and was offered a choice of 2 sites that were very small with no privacy at all, camping very close to other campers. I went in and asked for a site directly across from the site I was given that was more private and was told they could not allow it to be used until all the other sites were taken. I continued to press for another site and then was told about several others that were open after I was orginally told there were only 2 open. I took a site with electric and water in the back of the park that offered more room and trees between sites, backed to woods.

Cost me $41, which leads me to one of the reasons I won't stay there again, very expensive to pay $39 for a tent site even if it has electric I was not using. Also, if you camp at this campground you will be camping on dirt and gravel. There is virtually no grass at all. There are only 2 showers located in the ladies room. The water was not cold, but barely warm. Overpriced for sure, if you have an RV it might be a better experience. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Tent.

Requested to move to a vacant site for better satellite signal and easier connection, they were reluctant to agree to a change. Laundry room is unusable, ceiling tiles missing with illegal electrical wiring exposed. Sewer connection is one foot above ground, making stinky slinky a challenge to empty. As we all know **** flows downhill. Pool looks nice and clean, sign indicates capacity of 70, we counted 12 last night and can't imagine 58 more in there! We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.

This is a nice little campground. We were there to tour Pictured Rocks and a few waterfalls. It's on the outskirts of town and traffic noise is in the background but tolerable. All services, water, electric and sewer were adequate. Had our first Pastie there. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

First, this place is way overpriced, period! When you turn in from Route 28, you are welcomed to the campground by a huge pavement dropoff, (be VERY careful!) then a 100 yard pothole strewn entry to the office. Office staff has a "Whatever...." attitude. Interior dirt roads are as bad as the entry, except the huge potholes are full of water and mud! Our site was severely out of level where the rear of our fifth wheel was on the ground and the front was nearly 6 feet high! Scary at best!

The only drive by trash bin in the place had a huge mudhole filled with water about half the size of their pool.

The campground is located on Route 28, a MAIN thoroughfare in The Upper Peninsula, so roaring traffic 24/7 is the norm.

Bottom line is that we have a tough time understanding why the owner of a popular campground cannot spend a few dollars to at least make the place comfortable. Bear in mind that there are MANY tenters that are there to hike, so there are many campfires and LOTS of smoke, so close the windows and don't run the air!

We will never return because it just seems to be a money grab to bilk the tourist. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

It was disappointing to stay at a park that had such great advertising. Their false advertising was upsetting. When we arrived at the park there was no laundry that was stated on the brochure packet. They also said that there were "modern showers" well the showers were filthy, freezing cold, and run down. The pool was extremely run down and looked nothing like the picture in the brochure. The campsites are small, close together, and VERY dirty. I know you can't please everyone but for $41 dollars a night they could at least have warm showers with more than just two showers for a campground that holds over 100 sites. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.

We had a large back-in site. Our neighbors were separated by trees. If you're looking for a "woods" experience, this is the park for you. However, sites in the middle of the property seemed close together.

Although modern (newer), for the whole park they only provide two showers in each restroom of the single bathhouse. I had to wait for my morning shower. The showers were small and had no shelf to hold your soap/shampoo. A plastic chair was provided for each shower, but it took up most of the private dressing area. If you are a large person, I think you'd have a problem.

It was adequate, but an uninspiring experience. Our rate may have been higher than other posts because of the 4th of July weekend. We camped at Munising/Pictured Rocks KOA (Wandering Wheels Campground) in a Motorhome.
