Stayed for three weeks in premium pull-in site to lake. Gravel roads with big potholes and very dusty. From site to paved road over two miles. If roads were fixed this would be lovely. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Haas Lake is a very big CG with lots of permanent campers of all descriptions, most were well maintained. As mentioned in previous reviews the dirt road about 1/3 of a mile leading into the CG was not a good deal, we experienced a dusty, wash board drive into the CG. Multiple bathrooms are centrally located with laundry, however the big size of the CG, compared to the number of bathroom facilities can be a fair distance from your camp site. The bathroom and shower facilities were very well thought out as to functionality, water pressure, water temp, good lighting and general very good shower stalls, sinks and toilet facilities. Maybe the best we've experienced in our RV travels as to cleanliness and functionality. Golf carts seem to be the norm for both owners, staff and residents, lots of golf cart traffic and lots of dust. This is a destination CG, short term campers seemed to be moved to a remote location in the CG. The CG has a check in time of 4 PM. We arrived about 12:30 on a Sunday with a paid in advance reservation and were advised of the 4 PM check in and asked to return at 4 PM. The CG is a gated park so we parked just outside the gate watching several RV depart for 3+ hours while waiting for the 4 PM check-in. We travel a lot and this was our 1st experience arriving at a CG when the check in time was so late in the day and refusal to park. From our view the CG had spaces, but can only draw attention to travelers the late in the day check in policy that could be an inconvenience when traveling. I would stay again, however I would avoid the CG primarily due to the dirt road and the late check in without any tolerance should a campsite be available. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

South Lyon Michigan close, the New Hudson Bar and Grill was a biker bar, with burgers and beer, not really a true bikers bar was our experience, basically the food was bar food and good.

This park is HUGE....almost 500 sites! Each area has it's own swimming lake with a small beach for each. The manager put us in Z1.....what a great pull-through spot! No one on our right, in front of us and lots of room to our left. It's like we were there all alone. Very accommodating staff. Close to WalMart and Lowes. We'd stay here again. The nightly rate is weekly rate. As others have said the road into the park is not paved. Unfortunately it belongs to the county and they won't pave it because of the trucking business along said road. But the campground does go out on that road with their grader to keep it in as good a condition as they can. They also do a good job of grading their park roads that also are not paved. Most sites do not have sewer. Only 30 amps was available but I can live with that if I have to. Our site was just grass but was open for satellite reception. Lots of activities for guests. Dump stations worked well. They do offer black/gray draining for a small fee. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This campground was a disappointment for us. It started when we pulled up to the gate and I noticed the sign telling me there was no water available in the park because the lines were being cleaned with chlorine. You would think that something like this would have been mentioned when we made the reservation and paid for a full hookup site. The staff there did have a provision for us to fill our tank with clean, not chlorinated water but we still ran out of water right at the end of our 4-day stay. When we got to the site we were assigned in the mostly empty part (April is very early in the camping season in Michigan) we found a site that was too small for our 31' travel trailer yet there was a much more spacious site right next to it that was far easier to back into. We had them move us to the larger site which they promptly did with no hassles.

There are other issues though. The campground is at the end of a road and it turns to dirt shortly after you turn onto it. Normally, I don't really care about dirt roads but in this case, there is what appears to be a gravel or sand pit. The trucks that travel in and out of this business leave this access road in pretty bad shape so go slow.

The shower (Note that I didn't use the plural form here) that was closest to us was beautiful. Ceramic tile throughout the restrooms showed a wonderful attention to detail. The shower was spacious with a nice bench, plenty of hooks and a seemingly endless supply of hot water. Top notch but still, there is only one! I would imagine when the part is full there is quite the line.

This sites were nice and flat (heck, pretty much all of SE Michigan is flat), the staff was nice and helpful and backing up to the little lake was really nice. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for one month due to family living in the area. If you are visiting the Detroit area, this is one of the few parks within a reasonable distance from various attractions. Haas Lake would get a 10 from us if they took better care of their roads. They are very dusty when it is dry and very muddy when it rains. Other than the road getting to the park and within the park, it is one of the prettiest parks we have stayed at travelling west to east 2000 miles. We were there for one month. There are a lot of seasonal folks at this park and we did not find them particularly friendly. We have stayed at this park several times over the past 10 years, always for a month at a time. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our third time staying here. We are full-time rv'ers. We stay here when in town visiting friends. This time we stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks, towards the end of April, first part of May. We were disappointed that we were not offered a spring rate. The day we arrived, we were not able to use the water as it was being chlorinated. The 1/2 mile road leading into the park as well as the roads within the park are dirt. The lots are gravel. After the rains, the roads (especially the road leading into the park) are extremely rough and with puddles. The dirt roads within the park were in much better condition than the road leading into the park. The staff, with the exception of the weekends, were not very friendly. Making reservations was difficult; the person taking the reservation was not trained as well as they could have been. I am assuming this is because it was early in the season. WiFi is practically non-existent. The park is aware of the WiFi issue and has been claiming for the past two years that they are working on a fix. On the positive side, the park is located in a beautiful setting, around lakes. The lots are fairly wide with plenty of room for our rig. Because of the dirt roads, lack of usable WiFi, and unfriendly staff, I am rating this park a "4". $45 a night is very high for the services that are received. Because the roads were so difficult, we will not be staying here again in the springtime. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with several small "lakes". Crew is very friendly and helpful. Only problems here are the very hard water (looks yellow unless you filter it with an RO system and the calcium sticks to everything). The roads are gravel embedded in dirt and when it rains they become full of potholes and ruts. The road coming in is owned by the county and is left to last as "NO ONE LIVES OUT THERE". It becomes very quickly pitted, rutted and potholed due to the traffic coming in for weekend events, and camping. It really should be paved to prevent this. We complained and were told it was regraded on a Monday but it rained for a couple of days after and it became pitted/potholed again -- nothing has been done to fix it in the 19 days we've been here. These are the only two things that would prevent me from coming back (our second year here). Some sites are wider than others due to trees, sewer cleanouts, etc. Entire park is gravel including sites. Sometimes noisy at night if there is an event scheduled (weekends mostly). We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second time staying here for a week. Next time we'll look elsewhere. The people are nice, but I get frustrated when I have guests for dinner and have to go to the front desk and pay a visitor fee for them so that my guests won't know there is a fee just to have dinner at our trailer. Wi-Fi- as mentioned, is essentially non-existent, and saying you know there's a problem and are fixing it, for months, means you sure aren't in a rush to fix it. On the plus side, the sites are pretty level, and the ones out back are pretty spacious. Verizon and AT&T both worked fine. Laundry is clean. Nice camp ground for a few days of visiting Detroit or Ann Arbor. The sites are spacious and the setting is lovely. There are 4 lakes and a lot of grass and trees. We would stay here again in the future. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate = monthly. Stayed here for proximity to family living in metro area. Most campers are seasonal or permanent residents as evidenced by personal decks, gardens, lawn furniture, etc. If you want a really nice site, you have to book in January, I'm told! Positives: spacious sites, lots of trees around, though not many in Z section where we stayed this time. Very scenic with the lakes, swans and geese. Good laundry facilities. Restroom clean. It's a huge campground and groundskeepers work continuously. Couple of nice sandy beaches and swimming areas, and some playgrounds and large grassy areas where camping groups may play games such as volleyball if they have the equipment. Negatives: Our site in Z section poorly paved and not level with very large stones (torn up asphalt)/gravel making it difficult and dangerous to walk over. Could easily turn an ankle. Reported to office clerk who said she hadn't heard of this issue but said someone would check it out. No one has so far, but we're staying several more weeks. Dirt roads to enter grounds and throughout grounds so it's pretty messy when it has recently rained. Road to the campground has lots of potholes. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our rate was discounted for weekly stay. The regular amount is $31. This campground is predominantly for seasonal campers. There are few lakeside spots for daily campers. There are many extra fees and rules. They did accommodate us though for our 2 week stay. There is a 3/4 mile level bumpy gravel/dirt road to the gated park. There was a recreation pavilion with games, a store, and room for activities. One lake had a large swimming area. Other lakes had access for fishing. There were 2 laundry rooms. There also was propane available for your rv. We camped at Haas Lake Park RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed 8 nights and had a beautiful waterfront site on one of the four small lakes. Space between units was generous. The only complaint is they advertise WiFi, but, if you can get that far, their login page states they are aware their system is inadequate to meet demand. Never once could we access their network. RV parks need to upgrade facilities to meet customer demand for technology or not mislead patrons as to availability. Otherwise, a great facility.
