This is a pleasant little RV park. We enjoyed being here. Most of the sites are open and sunny, although the back row is mostly shaded. The sites are well-spaced and roomy. There are lake views from the park and a partial view of the Mackinac Bridge from the park's little beach area across the road which is also a great place for sunset pictures. Management and owners are very friendly and helpful. We used this as a base for exploring St. Ignace and Mackinac Island. We'd definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Don't follow the GPS to this site. They have signs on US-2 to lead you to the park correctly. Sites are gravel/grass, fairly level. Comfortable space between site but not spacious. We had a pull through (220) that had plenty of length but our picnic table was almost on top of the adjacent site sewer connection. Good water pressure. Few trees so satellite reception was good. No cable. Wifi was strong and fairly fast. Some sites have a view across the road to Lake Michigan. They own a small beach that is an easy walk across the road. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Shepler ferry will send a free shuttle to pick you up at the RV park so you don't have to drive to the harbor and pay for parking. Mackinaw island was fun to explore. Would skip the horse carriage ride. Guides did not impart much information that you would not get by reading the signs along the sidewalk. After a few tee shirt, fudge, and knickknack shops, they all start to look a like, and your tired of the main street.

A seasonal no frills RV park with convenient access to St. Ignace and Mackinac Island. RV sites are pull-through with full hook-ups. Third row sites offer nice shade trees and front and middle row are full sun. $3.00 per day charge if you use your AC. Nice breeze coming from lake during our visit, so did not need AC. Shuttle to Island ferry comes to the RV park. Nice stay for a visit to the area. 24 hour laundry. Level sites and pretty close together but, if you are in the straits area for the sights, you will be spending little time at your site. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects the 7 nights for 6 rate, there is a $2 reduction if you pay cash on a nightly basis. This family owned park is a rustic campsite but in a perfect position overlooking Lake Michigan and close to the Mackinac Bridge. We had a second row pull thru but still had a view of the lake. Roads and site gravel with grass between. Sites mainly spacious. Restrooms clean but need refurbishment. Very friendly owners, good antenna reception. Wifi either excellent or non excitant but understand this is a work in progress. Easy access from I-75 but no highway noise and very quiet at night. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The owner is so sweet, but this campground is tired and really needs some TLC. The bathrooms are in really bad shape. We had a campsite right next to the gazebo/restroom building, which also doubles as a walkway. This means that when designing the campground, they did not allow for walkways in the entire park, so on a full weekend, everyone walks through everyone else campsite. It is the tackiest thing I have ever seen. I literally ran a rope across our site to prevent trespassing, and teenagers simply stepped over the rope and walked around our stuff. The location is very convenient to town. We honestly stayed here because everything else was booked and the price was less than other places. Would not come back unless they renovate the campsites. It's hard because it doesn't seem like there are many great campgrounds in this area. But the access to the Mackinac Island ferries are great. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had no problems. Our site was a back in and had no problems. Sites are close together but had enough room to park our truck next to our unit. People in office were friendly. No cable service which would have been nice. Wifi was on and off, early in morning we had good service at night time it was hard to get on. Chris and her family continue to provide an excellent seasonal facility. Their website honestly portrays the campground unlike most others. We have been going there the last 7 years for 4-6 times each year. Holiday and special event weekends require advance registrations. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Best park in the area for a view of Lake Michigan and the Mackinac Bridge. The arrangement of power, water and sewer on the sites that overlook the lake are "interesting" and they work. The buses drive straight in so the front of the bus faces the lake. The 5th wheels and other trailers back in so the back window faces the lake. This means the RV electrical, water and sewer maybe facing each other. This solved with multiple sewer hookups as well as dual water connections. The sites were close but it did not distract from the view. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We arrived with reservations for site 104, in the front row, but we left. The view of the lake was not all that great, thanks to the trees on the other side of the road, and that treeless row looked more like an RV storage lot than an RV park. We explained our disappointment to the very nice owners and we left. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park across a quiet street to Lake Michigan. Great views of the lake and Mackinaw bridge. Clean laundry and store with few RV supplies. Boat companies that go to Mac Island pick you up at campground. The people in the area call St Ignace the quiet side and I'd have to agree. We would stay here again if in the area. Fairly level gravel/grass site. We were on the second row and able to pull through, and had a view of the lake when no one parked in front row. Clean bathrooms. Our site had a tree, so it was somewhat narrow. Rate was for staying a week. Very friendly owners and campers. Dog was able to swim in the lake, and retrieve behind the camper. Additional cost for A/C, but it was cool enough that it was not needed. Convenient to St Ignace and surrounding area. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Nice and quiet park with great views of the Straits and the Mackinac bridge if you walk down to the water. Our stay was wonderful. People are helpful and take care of the place. Well kept with few if any seasonals. Not a place for kids who need to be entertained. We used this CG for our home base while exploring the UP and Mac City and the Island. I did check but did not use the bathrooms and they did have cobwebs and spiders which would be expected near water but could have been a bit cleaner. $ 2 per day charge for AC which we did not use due to cool temps. Cell reception was very good, 4 or 5 local over-air channels. No camp store but there is laundry which is clean and very reasonable. Ice and wood are available, however. Sites are very level and ours did not require any leveling at all but they are a bit narrower than I prefer with everyone having slides. Front sites seemed narrower than back ones which also had more grass than front ones. If you do not have a Motorhome, bring an extension cord for your power which needs to go under RV to pedestal. TT and FW need to back in and power is on the other side. Motorhomes just pull in and the pedestal is on the proper side for them. Water and sewer have multiple outlets on both sides so that is no issue. I could have stayed a month. So much to do in the areas and it was wonderful. Suzy's Pasties are the best and are a few minutes away. I would have rated it a 10 if there was a small store, cable for the rainy nights and a bit more room between sites. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park across the street from Lake Michigan. All gravel sites that were level, easy hookups and everything worked. Manager was very accommodating and let us pick our own site. Just spent one night so didn't use any of the park facilities. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Been staying here 3 years now, 6-7 times each year. Just became a Good Sam park. Some weekends during summer are usually pre-booked so plan accordingly. Early & late season stays have lower pricing and fewer amenities. Discount if you don't use a CC. We will be back!! We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
