When we arrived, we checked in and walked over to check out our site, which had a popup in it. So, we returned to the office and they attempted to contact the owner and got voice mail. They found us a site to park our fifth wheel in, with electric so we could run our AC for our cat, and we unhooked and headed into town for lunch. By the time we were done, our site was available, so we headed back to get settled in. The sites are fairly close together and there are very few trees for privacy or shade. We didn't manage to score a waterfront spot, but we weren't that far and could glimpse the freighters from our window.

Our site had 50 amp and water, but some are 30 amp. Most appear to be fairly level, but the pads aren't always clearly defined. We couldn't use our firepit, since we were almost on top of it, but others had placement that was better. Big rigs work well here, but some spots are more friendly that others.

We managed to connect to the wifi, but it wasn't worth using at our site. We had 2 bars and LTE with AT&T, so I was happy. Nothing overhead, so our Dish satelite worked great. The showers were nice and restrooms clean. We didn't look at the laundry room, but they have one. There is a playground for kids in the center of one of the loops, swings and a slide, nothing fancy.

We enjoyed the town, lots of souvenir shops and a few good places to eat. The locks are the highlight of town and we watched a 1000' freighter go through, pretty cool.

I wouldn't consider this an amazing park, but the location is great and it's got a nice view. If you want privacy and trees or activities and a pool, you won't get it here. But, I don't think you'll find that anywhere close to here. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very popular campground, and the waterfront spots are almost always full. Reservations are recommended especially during the summer. We met several people who come back every year, in the same spot, for months at a time. We "site hopped" when we visited as we kept trying to get on the water. With persistence, we did score with 2 sites! Due to the creative layout of the sites, you can see water, albeit fragmented, from just about any site. It was a common site to see people running up to the river to take pictures of the freighters as they passed by :) And the freighters are mesmerizing to watch! The sites themselves are fairly level and most are quite large. In fact, it's a challenge in some to figure out exactly where your site starts and ends. All sites have water and 30 amp. A handful of sites have 50 amp. There is a dump in the park. Interior roads are decent with somewhat large boulders set in various places that need to be avoided. We could never get the WII FI to work even with our extender. Verizon coverage is great, and we had no issue with attempts to connect to Canadian towers. Directv satellite worked without any problem. It was very windy when we were there, and I don't know if that is a common occurrence or not. The temperature was perfect anywhere between the 60's and low 70's. Cute, but touristy, downtown area. Very easy to bike downtown. We stayed here in a motorhome and will definitely return. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A nice day trip is a drive out to Paradise and Whitefish Point. It's interesting to visit the museum and learn about the shipwrecks that have occurred at Whitefish Point. There is a fee to enter the museum or any of the buildings and an extra fee ("donation") to climb the lighthouse. There is a nice beach area but I would recommend bug spray as the flies were biting. Also, stop by The Inn Gastropub and Smokehouse in Paradise for lunch or dinner. Very good and creative food.

The park offers great viewing of the vessels that come through Sault Ste. Marie. The directions to get to the park were confusing in Woodall's but Google Maps worked well. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a no frills City or County park right on the St Mary's River. You can watch the big ships as they move up and down the river. We had a 50 amp site with water but no sewer. Good satellite and usable Verizon 4G. Sites room is adequate with gravel parking and fairly level. This is very close to Soo Locks and the boat tour Dock 1. Nice facility and a good stay for the money. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

We spent three days in this park and although there is little shade, the park is in an excellent location on the St. Mary's River. We did not have a river front site. However, we were close enough to see the large ships passing from our site. There is easy access to fishing, lock tours, and the town. The only negatives were the lack of shade and the Canada geese. Regardless, we would stay there again. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

As all other recent reviews have stated, this is a no frills park with level sites that are grass and gravel. Some sites were covered with water but no one got stuck. Electric boxes have been recently updated. Good water pressure, no shade, but great views of the rivers and up close with the ships. Definitely big rig friendly, quiet, large sites and friendly staff. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

This no frills campground is well worth the price. Most sites have a river view and there is adequate space between most sites. There are few trees which gives the campground an open and sunny feel (and satellite users a clear look at the sky). All in all a very good value. I recommend spending the couple of extra dollars for a riverfront site. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

We like the park first time here and we will be back. It's a city park located on the river, not well planned out, but I bet it's been here a few years. It's really neat to see Canada across the way.

Site 33 not on the water but dining room slide faced the water. We could see the boats go by.

If you like watching the boats, go to marine traffic and you can see when the ships are coming. Also watch up to 90,000 ships world wide. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We went through the SOO lock on a tour boat. We are going on a breakfast tour of some light houses. Museums about the area and the shipping industry one is actually a a Lake freighter you go in very educational.

Antler restaurant has a lot of stuffed animals interesting. I had the perch plate lot of fish but greasy. Burgers are big and every one liked them it seemed.

People were very friendly and accommodating. Lots are nice size so you don't feel like you are squeezed in. You are right on the St Mary's river and you can watch the big freighters go by. The negatives for us were they did not offer sewer and cable TV. Roads in and out of the campground were very big rig friendly. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This place gets a 9 from me on the basis of the view alone. It is a city park directly on the St. Mary's River, which empties Lake Superior through the Soo Locks into Lake Huron. This means that all shipping from Lake Superior has to go past here to and from the locks, so there is always something to watch, especially if you have one of the premium sites along the river. Next door is a boat launch and day use area. Roads are paved and sites are gravel and fairly well maintained. Sites are also fairly well spaced apart and have electric and water. Cell service is good, but you have to be careful not to roam to Canada, which is just across the river. The campground is far enough out of town to be quiet, except for the occasional ship's horn. Laundry has multiple machines and is clean. This is my second visit here, and I will come again. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you stop at the lock visitor center and get the phone number that tells you which ships are on the way down or up through the locks. There is also a web site that gives you more detailed information on each ship.

Beautiful location on the river but a lot of sites have no view of the water. Many have only a view of other campers. Sites are angled so that it's difficult to get a view of the water if all your windows are on the right side (passenger side). Our pull-thru had to be backed in to because of the location of the electric box and fire pit and it appeared to be the only one without a picnic table. 30 amp power was steady. Wifi was barely okay. Very nice dump station. Noisy kids all over until 11:00 pm but after that was very quiet. The place books up very quickly so get reservations as early as possible. Far more positives than negatives. We will definitely stay again when in the area. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a city park. Park was full for holiday weekend. Lots of seasonal campers, but everything clean. Park is right on the water, so lake freighters go by regularly. Our site had a good view, even though we were not waterfront. We recommend this park. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Aune Osborn is located on the St. Mary's River and makes for great freighter watching. And you won't have to wait long to see a freighter either--the Soo Locks are busier than the Panama Canal). It is very interesting to watch as the ships navigate the river, and they pass amazingly close to the campground.

Campsites are close to each other but not cramped. Quiet location, with a small party store across the street which sells ice. Not a lot of trees, but there was a nice breeze while we stayed. There are picnic tables and fire pits at each site. Sites are grass and level and have electric and water hookups. The showers and baths are relatively new and probably the nicest I've seen. They are tiled in tans and blues--very pretty--and the shower units have separate outside doors and are very spacious. One of the nicest bathhouses we've seen. Recently remodeled. They have Wi-Fi--I did have to sit outside the office to connect with my laptop, but that is not unusual for campgrounds Very reasonably priced at $26/night. The campground is owned and operated by the City of Sault Ste Marie.

We stayed three nights here and did a day trip to Tahquamenon Falls via the Whitefish Bay Scenic Byway. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Motorhome.

Aune-Osborn has NO WIFI that is works unless you are next to the office. They say city won't pay for repeaters, and if they cost alot and if they put them throughout the camp then they would loose strength in the office. Well they would need a booster. Yes but it cost alot but when you feel the need to take it over that is the price you pay.( this is what the gal in the office said when asked why no WIFI in camp. They do give you a password for it. WHAT A JOKE.) The gentleman before this guy was putting them in. So when he was our bid for the campground. He took all his equipment out. :). Makes sense to me. SO BRING YOUR OWN MIFI, JET PACK or what ever you have or plant to sit in the laundry room or outside the office. We were thinking we should all go sit in the office so we could connect. No plants in planters it has no color, no life. Office folk are not very friendly but VERY COLD. NO personality by any of them. Rocks have more. Making reservations is unreal. Sending them email waiting for response was months. The reason we go back is because of all the Freighters going up and down the river and shops in town, People are very nice and friendly.Bring a way to cook over fire pit. The ones here are horrible, have been forever.lol. Showers are separate from the potty room. Each shower is separate. We camped at Aune-Osborn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Watch the freighters from camp there are benches by the waterfront, wish there were more of them. Most sites you can see some of the St. Marys River. Nice shops in town and good food in town. We go to Goetz Lock View Restaurant get fresh catch of the day: white fish. Nice atmosphere. Locks, fun to watch the freighters. Go to Canada for the day. Won't go to Soo Locks Camp. I do not want to be a sardine in my camp site. We have seen campers that are almost awning to awning, UGH.
