Great little campground for an overnight stay. Level pull-through, full hookup sites made for a quick & easy set up. Beautiful views, not much noise from nearby I94, great place to walk your dogs. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Easy on and off the freeway, we didn't notice any noise. Great for a 1 night stay. Sites were very close together. They charged an extra $2 for a pet, but had a nice pet area. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stopped for overnight stay while heading across I-94. Owners are very nice. Campground has a beautiful view overlooking lakes and fields. Even though it is close to I-94 the traffic noise level is not too bad overnight. They have had a lot of rain lately and some of the sites could use some additional gravel. Biggest downfall is the shared utilities so one camper pulls in one way with the one next to you pulling in the other way. We had a trailer next to us and their slide out was less than 2' away from ours. A little too close for me. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Very convenient off of Exit 77 on I-94. A nicely kept facility, very clean bathrooms with plenty of hot water (key required to gain entry). 2 showers each in both men's and women's washrooms. Very large grassy manicured field for leashed dogs to stretch their legs. Friendly staff/operators. Free WiFi. Nice playground set with patio table nearby. Trees among pull-through RV sites provide shaded areas. They have the RVs pull in facing opposite directions next to each other so your passenger sides are open to each other as opposed to your outside camping area facing the "backside" of your neighbor. Your picnic table is next to your neighbor's. Standard spacing between RV sites. Our particular RV site did not have a fire ring, just a picnic table, but most or all tent sites had fire rings and water. I did not notice if there was an outside sink to wash dishes or whether laundry facilities were available. Adequate for a quick overnight stay and our needs. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

We arrived here at about 7:00pm on Friday night before Memorial Day without a reservation. Had no trouble getting a spot with full hookups, although these are limited. Full hookup sites are close together but level and very adequate. They do not, however include a fire pit. Bathrooms/showers are immaculate. View of the lake is beautiful. The owners are very friendly and right there for whatever you need up until 9pm each day. They also maintain a small store of items for sale including firewood. There is a small playground area for children but not much else to do but relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Only stayed one night on our way to Theodore National Park but would definitely stay again. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Be aware that you pull off the ramp when traveling north/ west and its almost an immediate turn into campgrounds. Great little campgrounds for overnight or a short stay. Very clean, well set up for pull thru site- no sewer hook up but dump station is available. Great view and fresh air. We stayed overnight. Staff courteous and very friendly. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent choice if you're working your way west/east across the prairie as its just off Interstate 94. Most of the sites are pull-through facing the lakes. Pelican Lake, an EXCELLENT CHOICE for birders, is located within a mile. Not much for shopping except a small, local grocery store. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nearby is another RV park, that has a small number of boats for rent. We rented a pontoon and motored out to Egret Island to view the roosting birds (do NOT go on the island, please). We had not seen this much diversity and density of birds since we visited the Everglades! Excellent birding opportunity.

We all read into reviews; I did. I read the reviews and the frequent reference to the beautiful lakes and assumed that they were accessible. Not! The park is on very high ground that drops away sharply giving a commanding view of the countryside including Pelican Lake. It is very big, quite pretty and more than 1/4mi away with no access. Enjoy the view.

This is a very small park: 14 rv sites, the first six with sewer, and 10 tent sites. More interesting the rv sites alternate pull-through and back-in and share a pedestal breaker box in pairs. All power is 30amp. The paired rv's are very close.

Wi-Fi was difficult to get started, then fine. Antenna TV pulled in a lot.

The bathrooms were not fancy, but were fresh and clean. Shower was hot with a lot of force. There is no laundry.

The owners are very pleasant and helpful and keep a clean and well maintained park. Not much to do in the area, but a nice place to stop. Be careful, it is right next to the I94 exit, within 500'. A big berm cuts down on hi way noise

$30.00 is a little pricey for this simple, basic park and the pet fee is just not right. $2.00 per dog, per day is just a money maker, there are no pet facilities. What are we paying for? Our dog, like most rv dogs, is very scheduled. I have to pickup after her twice a day. So I am paying them $2.00 a day for the privilege of cleaning up after my dog. RV'ers with more than one dog, staying a couple of days could be paying a lot. It would be better if this was a deposit to be returned if no dog mess was found. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Stopped here for an overnight. True about the sites being tight if they were full, but they do space you out and you want to set up facing the view of the lake. Absolutely beautiful spot. It was a very windy night but they have trees and bushes planted that blocked the wind. Level gravel sites with full hookup. Wifi was fine, a little slow but we had no problem. Verizon cell was excellent. Antenna pulled in plenty of channels. Owners were lovely.Excellent stopover. We would definitely stop here again. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is very convenient to the freeway. Easy access. Not a large campground but clean and level sites. The water does have a distinct odor. There is a beautiful view of lakes. The nightly rate shows an added $2.00 pet fee. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Would've given this park a 10, but no 50 amp (we had to reset breaker in middle of night with only 1 a/c on), and a $2/night "pet fee". However, this was a small inconvenience considering the view. Absolutely beautiful. Pull-thru sites have back-in sites in between, and if all sites were filled, the spots would be Very narrow. But, they space people out in the pull-thrus (when they can), which makes for a roomy site. Even though trees throughout park, free-standing sat dish can be set up. Speedy WiFi and good cell phone (Verizon). Right off the I-94. Easy in and out, dirt interior roads, but low dust. Freeway noise, but you forget about it when looking at the pristine view. Would definitely stop here again. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

What a jewel. This little campground is perfect for night or a week stay. Lovely in all respects. Staff very friendly, and the sites are level, well kept, and clean. Good power and water pressure. Great view of lake and hills in background of water and corn field. It is a place to put on your list of campgrounds to stay when in the area. No WalMart or other possible shopping needs, but if you don't need to shop, this is a place to be. We'd stay here again anytime we are in the area. Stayed in a 39' rig. What a gem for a roadside park. We stopped here on our way to Glacier National Park for a one night stay. The campground is just off I-94, easy access in and out, but road noise was minimal considering how closely located to the expressway. Campground overlooks two small lakes/ponds, very peaceful setting. Bath/shower house was no frills, but exceptionally clean. We had a pull through site that was level and with full hookups. Owners greeted us as we pulled in. Very friendly. The town of Ashby was just down the road. It was a Sunday when we stayed, and many of the businesses were closed. The gas station was closed, but the pumps were on and available if you were paying by credit card. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice clean park - sites level, view was gorgeous overlooking lake and fields. Very nice people, escorted to our site (although we could see it) and really friendly. Picnic table at each site. I have to point out just two negative things that I would didn't care for - one, if you have a dog you pay $2.00 each; they seemed fine with it and nothing negative mentioned but the charge was just slipped in (to me, they are family); and second, the water wasn't the best! It was VERY well smelling and looking; it was rusty in the toilet bowls and sinks. We were glad this was the last stop coming home because we really rinsed all the lines & water heater. Now this might not bother others, but it would make me think again about staying here again, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned this, but want you know about this. It's too bad, because I 'remember' after the fact, it's NOT their fault, the whole area isn't in the best water table that we all take for granted. Otherwise, they've put a lot of work into the park, it's clean, nice and handy - quiet and pretty. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled in and found this small quaint campground. There was some road noise from construction across from the campground, but not the campground's fault. In the distance you could see the highway, but the view of a small lake and water fowl made up for that. Of course, we were extremely lucky to be the only ones here the night we stayed so it made for a very peaceful evening. Pull thru site was nice and level although it was dirt/grass, plenty long enough for our 37ft fifth wheel. The entry to the campground is a little close, but can be done if you are careful. We camped at Prairie Cove Campground in a Motorhome.
