We stayed here for one night on the way back from the west. This is a small city park. The sites are on grass but sites were not muddy. We had full hook ups which were good. The bath rooms were clean but the showeres were not adequate. There is not much to do here. I would not stay here again. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

No frills but grounds are well maintained. Had to pay for showers. Ground is a little uneven with grass. Everyone had the same experience entering - no directions on what to do. You must have reservations, so you are guaranteed a spot. But, what you don't know is, what spot? You circle the area and choose your spot and take it, but before you catch on to the system, you are driving around a few times. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

This is our 8th year of coming to this park. Always first come/first served, pick your site and pay the fee. The city made a change in their policy. Now you have to reserve a site "online", we were not aware of the change and when I went to pay, we learned that we had to move to a different site and will have to move again later this season as we had planned to stay several weeks. So moral of story, the change is not for the better of us that have enjoyed the "self-service" of this park. If you plan to stay more than a one night stop, make a reservation. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This RV park is sponsored by the Lions Club and the City of Barnesville. It is open from May through September. No permanent residents, some stay several weeks, as it is the best option in the Fargo/Moorhead Area. Easy access from I-90 at exit 24 in MN. Self service, no local host. Find a spot and park, pay at the entrance in an envelope or at City Hall for longer stays. We have been staying at the park for 8 years. Grass mowed by city. Utilities work OK, sewer connections are a little high for some motorhomes. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

Tried to stay, but first spot had only a dead 30 amp plug available. (Two spots share same pedistal, with one 50, one 30, and a duplex 20.) Moved to a second and the available 50 was dead. Went on to Fargo. Wagner is a nice park even with the fulltimers they have. The town really needs to fix the electric issues though. We camped at Wagner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Wagner Memorial Park- Barnesville, MN (visit Fargo ND) This park has a large green oval with RVs on the north and south side, the middle being open. The electric, water and sewer are spaced so that 2 RVs are on either side of it. There is a bathroom/shower which I did not check out. I would like this park very much but for 1 major issue. When you call to inquire, the girl who answers always says there is a lot of space, no problem. She has never seen the park in this fairly small town. When we got here there were 3 sites available and only 1 suitable for us with 50 amps. I called and told the Park people that there were only 2 spots left so as to not mislead others. However our TRNP friends who just arrived for an overniter were told lots of space available. So beware of the information given. The space is on a first come basis and there are a number of people here who are working construction and a few who might be full timers. No camp host and self pay kiosk. As a small park, if you come here and find nothing, there is place to dry-camp on the adjacent lawns, and possibly you could be sent to the fairground which has electric hookup. $22.00 for full hookups. Buffalo River State park or Lindenwood Park are all closer to Fargo-Moorehead. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

We found this campground by accident. We were hoping to get to Fargo, but after having a tire blow out earlier in the day we were tired and just looking for a campground. Saw sign on I94 about this one, decided to stop. Glad we did. Large flat grassy sites. Had 50amp with full hook ups. Bathrooms were clean. Will keep this campground on our list of nice reasonable priced ones. We camped at Wagner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We had 25 minute drive into moorhead/fargo but we felt it was a decent tradeoff for price and quiet of campground. Only thing that would make it better would be having free WiFi. WiFi is pricey.

I think the only problem we had was that we came in on the Tuesday before the Labor day weekend and all of the vacant sites had reserved signs on them. Once we spoke with a few people who were already camped there, we found out that we could use any vacant site and just needed to leave the site on the morning that the posted reservation started. City even sprayed for mosquitoes each night! Great camp ground and very close to Fargo, N.D. We camped at Wagner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

28 sites with side by side, full hook-ups. Some long term units all in excellent condition. All sites are on well kept grass. Easy on and off from I-94. RV sites are sparse in Fargo and this city park is less than 30 minutes away across the Minnesota line. We camped at Wagner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is self service, find a spot and put money in envelope or you can pay at the city hall for the longer term stays. Rate shown is for more than 2 week stay. When we are in the Fargo-Moorhead area, this is the place we stay, our seventh time. Bathrooms are OK but could use more TLC. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

This was a nice find in the Fargo/Moorhead area as there's nothing else that would accommodate our 40' and trailer setup. You pull in, find your spot and deposit money or check in one of their envelopes. All grass...and I mean all grass...with a dirt road circling the spots. Kind of difficult to find a spot. I had to get out and walk around to determine where they were and how to get in them, as they're not well marked. Only about 8-10 people when we were there...all spread out. We found a nice spot and settled in. Quiet and peaceful. No Wi-Fi, water pressure was a bit low but adequate. Fire rings were placed in front of the rigs, and only every other site had one. Easy off and on the interstate. One night only. We'd stay here again. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

Self service park. Easy access from I-94. Good grass. Some fire rings, tables at all full hook up sites. Best place to stay in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Road to MN lake country is closed for repairs this summer. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.

This park was a great no-frills place to stop on our way home. As others mentioned, you park the rig and truck on the grass. Having rained prior to our arrival I was concerned about sinking into the sod but the ground was still quite firm. Surprisingly, there were not a lot of sites available with full hookups when we arrived. It appears the park has become popular for long term stays. Since there is no one to contact about availability, you just have to take the chance and stop in. Fortunately, it is not far off I-94. There is one pedestal to serve two sites so you need to pull into the site in the proper direction to access to your W/E/S utilities. Electricity was 30 amp. Water pressure was on the low side. TV reception was decent. If we can get in, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wagner Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an excellent park, however don't follow Mapquest, it takes you to the middle of farm country. It is close to I-94, quiet with well maintained grassy lots and is first-come, first-serve. There are some long term campers but still enough room for one-night stays. Payment is on an honor system with you putting money in an envelope and putting in a special lock box. The price is for full hookup with no cable or Wi-Fi. We camped at Wagner Park in a Motorhome.
