12 RV Parks near Bemidji, Minnesota
Jul 2013 - $42.00
This is a small resort campground with 3 overnight sites that have a beautiful view of Lake Plantagenet. The park is well managed, clean and attractive. The overnight sites are in the middle of the park close to the cabins, pool, bathroom, laundry and office. The park has a nice beach on the Lake with many water toys available for customers. They also have rental boats and pontoons available and bait for sale for fisherman. Bemidji has lots to offer and it is not far from the park. RV's park on sand with a grass area for the picnic table and campfire ring. Water, cable, electricity and sewer are appropriately located on the left side of the trailer. Sites are fairly level. Sites are close together. The owners are friendly and willing to help Verizon 4G cell coverage was excellent. WiFi is available in the Lodge and in the cabins. The Wi-Fi was not usable in our RV site. The standard cable worked well. The campground is located on a very quiet road so noise was not an issue. The pool is smallish but it is heated, fairly new and beautiful. 3% add on if you use a credit card. We would stay here again. - StillBill
Nov 2016 - $38.00
Large park outside of town, probably crowded during the season but nice and quiet for me after Labor Day. Lots of activities during season. Wifi weak. - ldukeb
Aug 2016 - $46.00
We stayed here about 6 years ago and it seems like they've made improvements since our last stay. Not that anything was wrong on our first stay.
Wifi worked well. They have added a new (large) K9 pet area. Staff is friendly and they have someone to escort you to your site. The park has a security gate so if you plan to go out for the evening, you'll need the code to open the gate.
They have souvenirs and supplies in the store/office. Nice park and we'd stay here again. - 69636
Aug 2016 - $45.00
Overall, a decent park. This is an older KOA as stated by others...aren't they all nowadays? The mgt. was friendly, professional and helpful. The park, though older, is kept clean. Sites are gravel and grass and ours was relatively level. Utilities worked fine and it had the best cable yet encountered. Hardly any other campers here so space was not an issue. Traffic noise from Highway 2 is present in the daytime but diminishes to nothing in the night. An airport is very close but the same applies noise wise. Overall, if visiting Bemidji area, I'd come back here again without reservation. - TPDBOB8687
Oct 2016 - $31.00
Sites are very wooded but close together. Nice washrooms and showers. Wifi available which is a plus at a State park. Lots of walking trails near the beautiful lake. - Paige Taylor
Sep 2016 - $30.00
The park is beautiful though the lake is not visible from the campground. However, it is close to walk to the beach and there are many wonderful trails including a paved bike trail. Park has bikes available to rent and staff is friendly. That being said, the park is not big rig friendly so I can't rate the park higher. It was difficult maneuvering our 38 ft motorhome on the roads. Lots of overhanging vegetation. Our site (#78) was a pull through. We were directed to come from the parking lot which was easy. However, there was no way we could pull through to leave. Besides the bushes, the turn was tight to get out. We ended up backing into the parking lot. The dump station also required a tight turn but we did it, only to find the sewer was on the wrong side for our rig. Had to pull through and the turn back around to use it. Sorry to say, we would not go back. - carol5249
Jun 2016 - $35.00
We stayed here one night.
No RV sites are adjacent to the lake.
Our site was easily accessed, but has a steep slope to the table and fire ring.
Our site had 30 amp electric. No other utilities.
Water and dump station had good access.
There were a few broadcast TV stations. - R V Camper
Aug 2016 - $37.00
Nice park with widely spaced sites. Many sites are not level enough for our auto level to work. We moved three times to find a site where we could level the rig. Once leveled and hooked up, very nice. It was a good thing the park was mostly empty; would have been a disaster if it were full. The state park reservation system leaves a lot to be desired. You can reserve a site online but someone can drive in and fill out a reservation card and park in that spot and you have no recourse. No lights at night; very dark with clouds or no moon. All sites are back-in. Can be a challenge given all the trees and signposts.
The state requires a $5.00 per day sticker on all vehicles entering the park so that should be added to the price. - Bojangles
Jul 2016 - $37.00
Very nice setting near Itaska Sate Park. Sites well spaced and long back-ins. Good road within park. Quiet. Well maintained. All sites are full hookup. Good shade but many spots (1 thru 8) will allow satellite reception. Most sites slightly un-level gravel. About 30 minutes to Bemidji and 10 minutes to Itasca state park. We will be back. - Max21
Sep 2016 - $33.00
Crowded when we visited, with some long term summer residents. The front loop is prettier than the back loop, but we stayed in the back loop and got good satellite reception. Wifi non existent unless at the office. Office manager and owner was helpful and friendly. - zcaptain
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Friendly helpful staff. Mostly wooded campground near highway but not a lot of traffic noise due to the heavily wooded area between the road and campground. Pleasant place to stay if you are exploring the area. Cable channels galore once you hook up the cable box provided for a fee. Wifi only available at the office. Would stay here again. - MJB
Aug 2016 - $29.00
The rate is for a 30 amp site and a Good Sam discount. The woman at check-in was very nice, but there were a number of people checking in at the same time so it took about 30 minutes. The campground grounds were well-kept and heavily wooded. We were not able to get a satellite signal through the trees, even with our portable dish. The electrical was strong. They do have cable, but you have to use a cable box and have easy access to the back of your TV with some hook-up, plus there is a charge for the use of the box, so we declined. They have WiFi that was good at times, but slowed down to a crawl as many folks were online. The sewer hookup was strange. It was elevated without any screws, so we had a hard time getting our sewer connection to stay in place. We did not use the restrooms, but did use the laundry. It could use some help. The equipment was old and rusty and it could use a good cleaning. Our biggest complaint was the traffic noise since it is on the corner of two very-busy highways. It was quieter at night, but still definitely there. Also, it is very, very well-lit at night. We prefer dark and quiet. We would use this campground again as an overnight, but definitely not a destination. - TheJim
May 2016 - $23.00
This is an very nice family owned campground. The staff is awesome. We had a level site right on the lake. All utilities worked great and were conventially located. Site was spacious with plenty of room to park the tow. Lots of well kept seasonals that were used on the weekends. Swimming, boating and other activities going on. Small store and restaurant area. Easy access into and out of park. - hug448844
Aug 2013 - $22.00
Nice park but out of town a ways. $22 is the Passport America rate but they charge extra for cable and AC/Heater. Well kept up. Nice view of the lake if you get the right site. Most lake-front sites are seasonals. Long grassy, level sites. - arkietraveler
Jul 2013 - $22.00
Really nice campground on a lake. Lots of seasonal campers, but the appearance of the campground is great and they have some sites for the transient campers. The back in sites by the woods are really nice. Not many lake view sites available for short term campers, but there are a few. Reservations are highly recommended for weekends, which are very busy with lots of families boating and swimming in the lake. Nice playground for kids. Good laundry facilities and clean bathrooms. The only thing keeping me from giving this park a 10 is they charge extra for A/C or heater ($3/day) and cable ($4/day). Otherwise, this is a great place to spend a relaxing week in the Bemidji area. Would stay here again. Rate shown reflects the PA rate (good for 4 nights). - TX Camper
Jun 2008 - $36.00
When we arrived they acted like they were mad at us because they messed up on our Reservation dates, They gave us an attitude and wasn't friendly the whole 2 weeks we were there. When we packed up to leave on the date they said they had us booked for again they got mad, stating they moved things around so we could stay, But who told us? No one. We were treated like outsiders and never felt welcome. But we decided to risk it and booked another reservation for the next year, only to find out our son was being shipped to Iraq and the only time we could see him before he left was our Reservation dates , So because we were one day late letting them know we were cancelling we were treated very badly , She hung up on my Husband after telling him, " She had to count the days!" Again no response came so when My Husband inquired about the deposit She said you were one day late so you don't get your deposit. Never will I stay there again and I will never recommend them to anyone. Very rude, very unprofessional, Not Friendly at all - Denisejohn
Sep 2005 - $38.00
The owners are not oriented to a family group. They seem to have a disliking to children. Rules are created daily with the only interest of money in their pockets. Service is extremely poor for weekend and seasonal residents - ivy
Aug 2010 - $40.00
Had a great time at Summer Haven. Nice big grassy sites. Ours was just yards from the lake. The beach had free paddle boats and fun swimming for the kids. Pool was a little small but it did the job for the 2 hot days we were there. Owners were fantastic and they hosted a family bingo and ice cream social while we stayed. Beware of the map quest or GPS directions, they both will send you to the wrong side of the lake. Other then that it was a fantastic place. We will go back. - bunny102
Aug 2016 - $38.00
Very nice resort. Friendly staff and nice store. Enjoyed the on site restaurant. Full marina with rentals. Sites are pretty large and easy pull-thus. Not very private though and lots of kids. Play areas for the kids. Nicely paved roads. - amlarson
Sep 2015 - $38.00
Stoney Point has a very high number of seasonal sites, most of which appear to have been occupied for many years. Also has a number of rental cabins for those without an RV/Park Model trailer. All sites were in excellent condition, and maintained to a very high level. Resort features a double canal/harbor with boat docking/rental available.
Huge beach with swim area filled with giant inflatables for kids.
This was after Labor Day, so resort was at low eb. With the huge number of sites, it may be a different story on busy summer weekends.
Staff were all pleasant and accommodating, although disorganized and some untrained. They were more used to dealing with customers that were already familiar, as there was little information shared at check-in. We had to figure out on our own by walking around where the bathrooms were, laundry, that there was a pretty decent restaurant on property, etc. Store is primarily a heavily stocked gift shop Only beverages available. Only a mile or two from a full grocery, so this is not a big issue.
We rented a premium site located on the main small canal. Gravel, with an old concrete "patio" pad. Sites are old, so have gone out of level over the years. Site was back-in, and took a fair bit of backing and filling to get into.
No cable TV - only local limited over the air. Free Wi-Fi limited to the main building. $25 per week fee for slow campground Wi-Fi.
Many extra charges - pet fee, docking fee, boat launch fee, extra tent fee, etc.
Overall, good to very good facility, but potentially crowded, that seems overpriced for the RV'er/Camper. OK for a night or two. For longer stays, better to choose a real cabin resort for only a bit more, and leave the RV at home, or use the very nearby Forest Service campgrounds, if you can get by with limited/no hookups. - Flapper
Aug 2015 - $43.00
A lot of seasonal and full time units. Nice beach. Lots of kids, fires and bugs. Beautiful sunsets. We stayed here 13 years ago and boy has this place changed. We were put in the middle of the resort and there was a lot of traffic and again, lots of kids. - Butcherboy13
Jul 2013 - $32.00
This is a large campground resort with many seasonal sites and 9 cabins. It is located on a chain of lakes which offer excellent fishing. Interior roads are dirt but are well maintained. The beach area is well maintained and is great for swimming. They have water toys available for use and a variety of boats, and pontoons that can be rented and bait and gas for sale. RV's park on grass and each site has a picnic table and campfire ring. Some sites offer full hookup and some only water and electric. Sites are fairly spacious, and you can put your RV anywhere on the site which helps one find a level spot. The owners are very friendly and willing to help. Verizon 3G cell coverage was passable, but the data speed seemed to flag much of the day. WiFi is available in the Lodge and elsewhere for a fee. The campground is located on a very quiet road, so noise was not an issue. This rate was for a water/electric site. We would stay here again. - StillBill
