We echo the review of September 2016. We have a 38' fifth wheel. We used the call center to make reservations for our 30 amp electric only site, and even discussed the length of our rig, and selected a site (55' long) that would accommodate our rig. No mention of any RV length limitation. However, the site, and whole campground, has literally thousands of trees, and our site entrance was bounded so tight with trees we couldn't maneuver to get in. We were told that we should have selected site #78 as well as the 2016 reviewer (how were we to know?) but it was being used. We were given a list of available sites, so we dropped our 5th wheel and after driving through, found that nothing would work. There are 3 loops with campsites, all of which have badly rutted narrow dirt roads and hairpin turns, again bounded with loads of trees. Making one pass through, we were fortunate to even get through. There are seriously low large branches next to the office and throughout the park that are surely going to badly scrape your RV, or remove an antenna or a/c sooner or later. We mentioned this to the staff and were told that maintenance does not like to cut down trees! Cost was off the chart for this park! $31.00 for 3 nights, + $10.00 reservation fee, + $21.00 for a 3 night State Park parking pass that you pay for at check in (you MUST have this and again not mentioned when making reservations through the call center) for a total of $124.00 for 3 nights. WOW! Sorry, but we will not return! We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The Parks Campground personnel were very nice. Our truck had broken down and were lucky to find a good campsite to park for the weekend. One night there were tornado warnings and the campground host came and let everyone know that if we heard a car horn blowing head to shelter. Luckily we didn't have to. The grounds were kept very clean even after a large wedding party left. Lots to do and they rent bikes and different things. Even though we were broke down for a few days - we had a excellent time and want to return. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly and helpful staff. The dump station is set up for a single trailer, but has a slight slope away from the pit that prevents you from completely draining the black and grey tanks. Typical of state parks the water hose is short and has had the end cut off to prevent flushing the black tank. There was no hose on the potable water spigot so have your own hose handy. Most sites weren't level so you will need blocks. Nice and quite in the park. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are very wooded but close together. Nice washrooms and showers. Wifi available which is a plus at a State park. Lots of walking trails near the beautiful lake. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The park is beautiful though the lake is not visible from the campground. However, it is close to walk to the beach and there are many wonderful trails including a paved bike trail. Park has bikes available to rent and staff is friendly. That being said, the park is not big rig friendly so I can't rate the park higher. It was difficult maneuvering our 38 ft motorhome on the roads. Lots of overhanging vegetation. Our site (#78) was a pull through. We were directed to come from the parking lot which was easy. However, there was no way we could pull through to leave. Besides the bushes, the turn was tight to get out. We ended up backing into the parking lot. The dump station also required a tight turn but we did it, only to find the sewer was on the wrong side for our rig. Had to pull through and the turn back around to use it. Sorry to say, we would not go back. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here one night.

No RV sites are adjacent to the lake.

Our site was easily accessed, but has a steep slope to the table and fire ring.

Our site had 30 amp electric. No other utilities.

Water and dump station had good access.

There were a few broadcast TV stations. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We had a difficult back in site (80E) having to back up a hill and lots of leveling to do. Other sites looked better. Nice walking trails and close to lake and town. We would go back to this state park. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice staff. Clean restrooms / showers. Campground roads are narrow and care needs to be taken while pulling your trailer through. Dump station is difficult to get in to. Most campsites are very close together and offer little privacy. Very nice beach and boat docking area. Great access to bike trail. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pro's: incredibly clean and well maintained. From fire pits emptied to dog waste pickup bags supplied. Lots of well maintained hiking trails. A short drive into town, yet still very rustic and natural. Very clean & modern washrooms. Fast Wi-Fi at our site. Wi-Fi from antennas on all washrooms and main building. Con's: narrow roadways. No privacy between sites. You WILL have bushes scrape the side of your unit. Some sites not well levelled. We stayed at site 66. Slight drop to rear of site. Some privacy. 35' accessible. Overall, a wonderful park. We will return. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent campground run by friendly, professional people. Wi-Fi works great! Not too many sites for big rigs, but you can get in and out. Great place on a great lake. Super spot for a family vacation. Nice, clean swimming beach. We will definitely be coming back. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a good state park campground. Paved roads to the State Park, dirt roads within the campground. Some tight corners for larger rigs, but we were fine in our 25ft TT. Quiet, private sites, not very level. Great trees. Managed to get a few DTV channels. Our Verizon phone and broadband worked fine. At $30/night including a $5 vehicle fee it is not a bargain, but we'd definitely come back. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This Minnesota Sate Park is located 6 miles north of town on the north shore of Lake Bemidji. We stayed here on a weekend in mid September and had the place to ourselves. The shower and restroom building looked look like it was brand new. The campground is walking distance to the lake. There is also access to the Paul Bunyan state bike trail. There is a paved bike trail around the entire lake and you can get to town by bike. Overall good experience, nice campground. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We got site 53 which worked well for our MH; many other sites would not (check with Ranger before reserving any). Restroom/showers in excellent condition. Hiking and beach were also excellent. We did not go swimming as ranger advised there was "Swimmer's Itch". Very few mosquitos here, it was very enjoyable to sit outside without being bitten or smelling like a DEET factory. But, for us, the very best part was the Park Naturalist who was awesome. He taught great courses about trees and lakes (including a most fascinating free ride on a pontoon boat into the middle of Lake Bemidji). Many activities in the amphitheater (musical groups, lectures, services on Sunday). This is one of our all-time favorite State Parks (and this was our first visit to it!). We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Motorhome.

The campground is very hilly so sites can be uneven. The sites are closer together than most Minnesota state parks. The campground is walking distance to the lake, a great beach, many planned naturalist activities, and access to the Paul Bunyan state bike trail. Overall good experience, nice campground. We camped at Lake Bemidji State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
