Very busy park. Had to take non sewer site for one week. This park is great for families and lake/water people but that isn't our thing. Came for the biking trail (MRT) but did some canoeing. Not happy that you have to pay extra for the indoor kiddy pool and hottub/sauna. Feel a little ripped off - had to pay $8 couple daily rate for 20 minutes of hottub use. Other than that, enjoyed a relaxing stay. Staff was always available and friendly. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Forest ranger superintendent office in Cass Lake is historic log office. 14 mile Pine Lake Loop is great bicycle ride. Itasca State National park is close by (Mississippi Headwaters).

Staff was friendly and efficient. Most of the available FHU pull-through sites were in the shady section of the park where paved interior roads lead to large, grassy "natural" sites. Maneuvering thru park and site was just ok - a tad close to obstacles. The front of our 5th wheel was nearly on the ground to reach level. Sites alternate direction so utilities are shared closely on one side, while picnic areas are shared on the other. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided. Sites are long and wide and it appears common to have large groups sharing one site for weeks at a time. At our site, we had no wifi, no TV and no cell service. As their website shows, the resort offers boat rentals, moorage, boat launch, store, LP gas, boat fuel, restaurant, swimming beach and play ground. Most of the interior sites are privately owned permanent sites but a friendly vibe. Morning garbage pick up; recycling available. The pool/spa is indoor with a per person/per day fee. We didn't check the bath/showers but they were in a nearby block building which could double as a storm shelter. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice resort on the water with a very nice large beach area. Boat rentals are available, lots of places to fish, restaurant on site. There was a fee for the slow wi-fi which was a bit frustrating. Sites were very close together so almost impossible to avoid your neighbors, but people were friendly. Overall a very good family resort with a lot of things to do. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice resort. Friendly staff and nice store. Enjoyed the on site restaurant. Full marina with rentals. Sites are pretty large and easy pull-thus. Not very private though and lots of kids. Play areas for the kids. Nicely paved roads. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stoney Point has a very high number of seasonal sites, most of which appear to have been occupied for many years. Also has a number of rental cabins for those without an RV/Park Model trailer. All sites were in excellent condition, and maintained to a very high level. Resort features a double canal/harbor with boat docking/rental available.

Huge beach with swim area filled with giant inflatables for kids.

This was after Labor Day, so resort was at low eb. With the huge number of sites, it may be a different story on busy summer weekends.

Staff were all pleasant and accommodating, although disorganized and some untrained. They were more used to dealing with customers that were already familiar, as there was little information shared at check-in. We had to figure out on our own by walking around where the bathrooms were, laundry, that there was a pretty decent restaurant on property, etc. Store is primarily a heavily stocked gift shop Only beverages available. Only a mile or two from a full grocery, so this is not a big issue.

We rented a premium site located on the main small canal. Gravel, with an old concrete "patio" pad. Sites are old, so have gone out of level over the years. Site was back-in, and took a fair bit of backing and filling to get into.

No cable TV - only local limited over the air. Free Wi-Fi limited to the main building. $25 per week fee for slow campground Wi-Fi.

Many extra charges - pet fee, docking fee, boat launch fee, extra tent fee, etc.

Overall, good to very good facility, but potentially crowded, that seems overpriced for the RV'er/Camper. OK for a night or two. For longer stays, better to choose a real cabin resort for only a bit more, and leave the RV at home, or use the very nearby Forest Service campgrounds, if you can get by with limited/no hookups. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Resort abuts to an excellent, level, 19 mile paved bike trail loop. Two State parks within a reasonable driving range, including Itasca, where you can walk across the Mississippi river.

A lot of seasonal and full time units. Nice beach. Lots of kids, fires and bugs. Beautiful sunsets. We stayed here 13 years ago and boy has this place changed. We were put in the middle of the resort and there was a lot of traffic and again, lots of kids. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stopped here for one night, first for dinner as it is the only restaurant in Cass Lake. Lucky for us, one site was available (someone cancelled last minute). Our site was in the back near the beach and lakeside cabins. Beautiful set up. Lots of full time trailers with boats, etc. Bath house was 3 sites away (two rooms with toilet and shower). Surprisingly clean considering the number of folks at the beach. When we arrived at the site, the fire ring was filled with trash (beverage boxes, coffee cups, lids). Would stay here again. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Really enjoyed our stay here while visiting the area. Be sure to book well in advance for summer stays, there are great sites near the beach. Lots of seasonal campers so the park gets very busy during the weekend, and the older section of the campground is tight, so be careful if selecting a site near the front. The beach area was fantastic, great playground, lots of grass and a sandy beach that had clear shallow water. Restaurant on site as well as boat rentals, marine gas, canoe rental, etc.... Lots to do without leaving the resort. We'll definitely come back to Stony Point but we'll book far in advance to get a great site and we'll stay longer. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Great resort. Friendly staff, well equipped store and great restaurant. Full marina with rentals. Sites are big and great easy pull-thus. Not too private but nice sites. Play areas for the kids. Nicely paved roads so no dust to deal with. We have stayed here often but you need to book in advance. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped here for one night. The lake is beautiful and the campground is advertised as a resort area. It is family friendly and has houses and trailers to rent. There are also a lot of permanent residents. Our site was grass and dirt and difficult to maneuver for a 42' motorhome. We had full hookup ,but the camper parked next to us was also hooked into the 20 amp part of our electrical box. Quiet time was from 10pm to 8am but there were kids outside playing after 11:30pm. When we checked in we used our Good Sam discount, but were charged an additional $3 per dog as "additional occupants". They were not allowed near the water and the designated pet area was way on the other side of the park. The campground was in a beautiful area, but there were so many people crammed in and so many rules that it was not an enjoyable place. We would not camp here again. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

What started out as a fish camp in the fifties has grown to a lakeside resort. The older parts of the park with most of the 3 point hookups are a mixed bag of permanent units of varying sizes and available spaces. It's popularity leaves some pretty iffy spots for overnighters. They have a newer section of 2 point only hookups that are easier in/out and more spacious. That said the staff are hard working and nice. The restaurant located on the property is amazing. Wi-Fi is slow. Laundry and showers are well kept and relatively new. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We had a reservation since the first week of March. They had assigned site 317. When we arrived and checked in and went to the site it was the worst site in the park. It was lumpy and very unlevel. I looked at the electrical box and there were spider webs all over it. Obviously no one had been in that site for a while. The front of the site was about 3 feet lower than the back. It was within a few feet of a bath house. We went back to the office and told them we were not staying and we wanted a refund. Fortunately they do it the same as a hotel and just charge day by day. We had to pay for the first night but did get a small refund. We were just very happy to get away from there. It is typical of almost all the RV parks in Minnesota. They call them all 'resorts' but that is far from accurate. We did not stay here and would never stay here. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved our stay!! It is a nice campground well keep and the bathrooms are clean. The beach is huge with nice soft sand and clear water. The depth of the beach is shallow making it great for kids. The owners are friendly and nice. We will go back again. They only really down thing would be the tight lots but they were fair. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Our campsite here faced the lake and made for a lovely view out the front window. I had to trim some branches to get all four slides out and it was very tight maneuvering our 45’ motorhome into our site (#312). We stayed here on a cold, blustery day…in August! The beach and facilities looked great, but it was too cold to enjoy them much. We will try to come back at a warmer time. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We were here for a night in the middle of the July 4 weekend. It's a cool place, but when you own a place with a beach, you need to clean the bathrooms more often. I checked out all of the bath houses in the afternoon and none of them were clean, and they weren't clean at night. There was also a fair amount of garbage piled up everywhere. This campground has a lot of seasonal and full-time campers, and a lot of manufactured homes. The beach is tiny, and the roped-off part of the lake is too shallow to do anything but wade. It's a great place for boaters. Our spot was fronting a lagoon and in a grassy area. The office building features a restaurant, game room and store, and there's free Wi-Fi in the building. You can pay for Wi-Fi at your site. My 11-year-old cost $5 extra. Great recreational opportunities. We camped at Stony Point Rv Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
