Aug 2006 - $15.00
I've stayed in many campgrounds, but this one was the absolute worst. Descriptions of Forest Heights on various travel websites are so inaccurate as to be near lies. The restrooms were filthy and not stocked, the shower rooms were moldy and dirty, there was no "pavilion" or "lodge" as advertised. The "office" is the living room of the owners' home, which was strewn with debris, cat litter, and smelled of dirty diapers. The office is only open during the day (and they keep it locked unless you pound on the door) no emergency info was given, no maps of the site, etc. The tent camping area is unmarked--really just a flat gravel area, unsuitable for tents. Broken glass and cigarette butts were strewn everywhere, and broken water spigots made standing water a problem in the RV area because of the poorly maintained, pothole-filled roads in the campground. There were few lights in the campground, making it unsafe. All in all: horrible. I would never stay there again and I would never wish this campground on my worst enemy. - redsavina2

Aug 2016 - $20.00
We did not stay here, but the we were able to dump here for a donation. There is also fresh water. This is a nice, city campground just north of the tiny town of Nashwauk. It is first-come-first served, but there were only 4 travel trailers in the park. Had we not been able to stay at a friend's property, we definitely would have camped here for the weekend. It must be new because trees are small, so it's more of a parking lot with grass. Campgrounds are scarce in this area, so we thought we would report on it. The bathroom/shower facility is locked because it's a city park. You get the key from police station or city hall for $5.00. We thought $20.00 per night for electric and water was a great rate too. - brendajoro

1 overnight, easy to find, friendly host. Trouble with Wi-Fi, dump station under water, unable to use. Water & electric only. Biggest fire ring we've ever seen. - Hamilhome
Jun 2015 - $25.00
Decent CG with several amenities. South of town off Hwy 53, Not in town. Only real negative comment is that the water connections are too far from campsites. One connection serves 2 sites and sites are well separated. CG manager loaned us enough hose to reach our unit. - ebaldy
Sep 2014 - $25.00
Verizon connection good. Wi-Fi connection adequate. The router in our section was not working, good thing we have an external antenna. Guy in the office was nice, although his dog was running loose in the campground and liked to growl. It was OK to stay here for a night, since we were self-contained. I would not be anxious to spend more than that amount of time here. - cmgoeke

Minimal choices in the area, those that are here are jammed with people using ATV's, etc. Spots terraced up the side of a hill, mostly level. Long sites. Bathroom functional, one toilet and one shower per sex, but not particularly clean. No wifi. Again, given the limited options, it is what it is. - ldukeb
Aug 2011 - $22.00
Office was closed when we arrived and fortunately were greeted by one of the residents as the camp host wasn't here either. Un-level sites on gravel, they were pull-through - however, requested 50 amp, and none were available despite the park being relatively empty. Found out only sites along the outskirts of the park were 50 amp and the one next to us (that was a 50 amp site) had the camp host's pontoon boat parked in the spot. We did get compensated for taking the 30 amp site. Does have a picnic table and fire pit at each site. Not very well-run and probably more for ATV'ers as advertised. Was a good location to see the Iron Range and surrounding area. Wouldn't stay here again. - J&L Coleman

This is a city owned campground that the city doesn't know how to manage. The sites are extremely unlevel and on grass. Some rigs may not be able to get level. Also the hook-ups are on the nonstandard side; the sewer connection is up hill from your rig, not allowing you to empty your tanks. Many of the sites have 3-4 tents in them, with 4-6 ATV's per site. This is not a nice quiet campground. With all the ATV's and clotheslines strung between the trees, we almost saw more than one rider almost beheaded. The speed allowed in the park is going to get a child hurt if they don't curtail it. We stayed here in a 39 foot fifth wheel and will not stay here again. - Mike1987
Jul 2015 - $28.00
Price reflects two weeks stay on an angled back in site with 30 amp electric, water, sewer. Interior roads are asphalt and sites dirt/gravel/grass. Has angled back ins and "C" type pull thurs. There are tree branches that need to be cut back. Allows campfires. WiFi worked great Able to get 5 channels on the antenna. Electric hasn't been improved since the June 2012 review. Some what easy in and out with a 60 foot combo. - Tallboy
Sep 2013 - $25.00
Beautiful campground overlooking ore-be-gone lake with some sites on the lake. Sites are laid out very well so your view is something other than your neighbor and are very spacious. There is also a nice children's playground by the lake. One word of caution, there is no sign at the entrance of the campground so if you come to the brown sign for the off road vehicle trail, slam on your brakes! You just passed it. If you continue, you will go down a hill that dead ends into the lake, but no fear, if worse comes to worse, you can turn around in the parking lot. Also be aware the directions on the Internet have you turning right on Wisconsin however if you are coming from the north, you are entering town at the opposite end and will make a left on Wisconsin. When I called ahead to get directions, they didn't even get it right! - wheelchairs on the go
