This small municipally owned campground was a pleasure to stay at. The park is on a small island on the St. Louis River. There are only 21 sites and all have electric and water plus at least one other site has sewer as well. On-site hosts were very accommodating and are there around the clock. Sites are well-spaced (except for 11 and 12 which are too close) and offer some shade during the day. Some sites have asphalt parking areas and the others are gravel. Big rigs appear to have no trouble getting into most sites. Biking and walking trails are available from the campground. One drawback is the large factory immediately next to the campground that had constant operational noise. The little railroad that serves local industries also ran nearby but it wasn't a bother inside the motorhome. There is no campground wi-fi, but our Verizon card worked well for internet and our over-the-air TV antenna brought in plenty of stations. This was our second time at this campground and would definitely stay here again when coming through. We camped at Spafford Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground is about 18 miles from Duluth and Superior where we like to watch the ships come and go at Canal Park. There is also a tourist railroad offering train rides out of downtown Duluth. A drive to Two Harbors is also interesting when ships are loading taconite. In Cloquet, the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed gas station is a must see for FLW afficionados.

Very Nice City Park, LOTS of GRASS. Dog friendly. Water and Elect only. 13 Local TV Channels. Host friendly and helpful. First come first serve. Close to shopping and food. Will stay again. We camped at Spafford Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Lake Golf Course about 7 miles away. Best Greens and Fairways we have played on the last 2 years. Reasonable price.

The park hosts were extremely kind and helpful. We just stayed one night en route. It is on the St. Louis River. Nice setting. The campground was full so they put us in overflow. They charged us less because of that. There was some industrial nearby which created some noise but nothing bad. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Spafford Park in a Fifth Wheel.

City owned park that has easy access to all major roads and is located along the river. Campground is very clean and well maintained with paved interior roads and level gravel pads. Each site has water and electric service. Very close to Duluth/Superior and all that it offers to visitors. Only negative would be the noise created by passing trains and nearby factory. We would stay here again as the location out weighs the small negatives. Would be a 10 without trains and factory. We camped at Spafford Park in a Motorhome.

The only down side of this park is the fact that nearby is a large manufacturing plant that is relatively noisy. It does have some paved biking and hiking trails. We camped at Spafford Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great City of Cloquet campground on St' Louis River with walking trails, catfishing, boat launch and within walking distance to quaint shops and parks. The historical Northeastern Hotel/Bar adjacent to the campground was featured in the movie "Iron Will". There is a dump station available for arrival or leaving. If not staying it is $5.00 to dump. This park is very clean and pretty, located on Dunlap Island. Access is off of Highway 33, head West on Cloquet Avenue and follow the road that parallels the bridges. We camped at Spafford Park in a Motorhome.
