Best park in all of Minnesota. Owners couldn't be more friendly or helpful. He noticed some branches in the way on our site and immediately came and trimmed everything nicely. Plenty of the grandkids to do. Nice safe environment. We camped at Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We stayed here last year and liked it. It was even better this year. A little hard to back into but we made it. Our trailer is 40 feet long and is often a bit hard to fit in some spaces.

Large Spaces for our 40' Motor-home, lots of grass. Site is gravel for the coach and concrete pad with grass on all sides of the coach. Pull Thru. Clean Shower and bathrooms. Decent laundry. Big rec room, good cable, err dish network distributed to each site. WiFi was good the first day up till 9pm, then it never worked again during our 5 day stay. ATT hotspot worked great, Sprint also had good service. T mobile didn't work. There were a lot of free things to do on the campground, peddle boats, horseshoes, chip golf, volleyball, rec room. Full hookups worked well. Friendly owners. The only odd part was the need tor a key to the restrooms. $5 deposit. Had not experienced that anywhere on our 3 month sojourn so far. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

A very nice, family run RV park with a good feel to it. The registration parking area is a little tight. The office was closed at 2 p.m. and I had to go next door and knock on the door. No response. Eventually yelled thru a window and got someone's attention. He was very friendly, if not efficient. $5 deposit for a restroom key. Please invest in a keypunch door! When we left, we tried to return the key but once again the office was closed. Back to the house. He comes to the office and sees the register is empty. Back to the house to get $5 from his wallet. Our site was nice, level and roomy. Roads and sites are gravel. Utilities worked fine. Good cable. We had no trouble getting satellite reception. Lots for the kids to do. No pool but plenty of lakes around. The small lake adjacent to the RV park is not really suitable to swim in but they do have paddleboats you can use. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

This was a "mom and pop" park and it was a lovely surprise. The woman who checked us in was quite pleasant and gave us good service. The park had plenty of shade and spaces were level. We only stayed one night, but it was such a great park, we could have stayed a week! We camped at Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of our last stops on our way home from the U.S. road trips we take every year. It's always busy so I would recommend reservations. It has a lake with paddle boat available to the campers. It's a few miles off U.S 59. There's a large green space with different games for campers to use. It also has a large games room with pool table, goose ball and ping pong. Great overnighter! We camped at Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Owners showed us to our site. Very clean campground with level sites. Each site had a concrete patio. Owners were friendly and helpful. Large green area with playgrounds for kids and games for adults including a 9 hole chipping golf course. Stayed here 14 days and will stay here again. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a family-owned camp whose proprietors dote on their customers. Someone was always available dawn to dusk. Almost everything is provided for adults, children and pets: a lake, paddle boating; pet runs; fenced childrens' playgrounds; horseshoes, volleyball, etc. Wi-Fi was excellent once a one-time sign on was negotiated. The trip to Itasca State Park ($5 for a parking pass) to view - and wade in, if you wish - the headwaters of the Mississippi River was a highlight. A 2-hour tour of Lake Itaska via boat ($16) included a good history lecture and some animal sightings. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge is nearby. A (free) drive through it produced unforgettable photos of a family of swans plus binocular sightings of eagles and woodpeckers. The nearby Richwood Winery has a convivial tasting room and a good (although limited) wine list. The large Central Market was decent considering the size of the town. A Saturday Farmers' Market had a lot of locally-made products.

This is a great little campground. The owners converted their family farm into a family campground. The sites are large, pull through, with some shade. The campground shows their love for the place...level sites, fire rings, cheap firewood (wheel barrel full for $10), lots of field games (disk golf, horse shoes, pitch and putt, volley ball), a walking path, free paddle boats on the lake, indoor games and library, and so forth. There are no pool facilities. The family is always around checking that everything is fine. The location is in a Minnesota recreational area full of lakes about 20 miles east of Fargo. We camped at Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a fun area of the state if you have good weather with lots of lakes and a nice beach in the town. Brew's Ale and Eats if a very good pub and Lake Country Bakery has excellent bread and cookies along with other items.

The nicest and most friendly smaller campground we've ever stayed at. The owners and their family will bend over backwards to help you. Wonderful place for not just for kids but grown ups as well. I can't see how anyone can complain about this place. We camped at Country Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Family owned well planned campground. Easy in and good roads, easy to navigate. The owner showed us to the site. Sites are large enough for a motor home and toad. Nice pull throughs but not all sites are pull throughs, back in sites are easy. Most all sites are satellite friendly. But the trees are young and growing. If you have a portable dish there should be no problem. Wifi did not like my chrome browser, so did not use it. Good Verizon signal. Plenty to do here, playgrounds for the kids. Paddle boats for free. Indoor games, library, DVD's. They even have a 9-hole, chipper golf course. There is no pool here. No dog park. Laundry open 24 hours. Good cable TV with many stations. Good placement of hook ups stable electric and soft water. Sites are gravel just where the RV is parked. Sites are large and all the same size. Corner spots are especially nice. All sites have a cement patio with fire ring and lots of grass. The park is very well kept. There is firewood for sale at reasonable prices. Would stay here again. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

This place is a gem! Really one of the nicest RV parks we have stayed in. Very friendly and helpful owners, spacious, well-planned sites, two playgrounds for the kids, a recreation building with ping-pong and other games, and a chip-and-putt golf course. Even the views were pretty, with a lake across the street and huge fields on two sides of us. The only surprise, given everything they had to offer, was that the wifi was terrible -- didn't work for us at all and we had to use mifi. We camped at Country Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Detroit Lakes is a great little town. Be sure to visit the town beach. If you want to splurge on a very nice dinner, visit Spanky's in nearby Vergas. Our friends, who live in the area, took us there, and the food was amazing.

Absolutely great place to stay. Owners were more than accommodating. You get a wifi password for each device: if you don't use it within an hour it expires. Did not use any of the amenities. Site was very nice, spacious and mostly shady. Site surface was gravel, grass and featured a picnic table. We camped at Country Campground in a Motorhome.

Detroit Lakes is a fun place. Never seen so many "Martini Barges" (pontoon boats) on a lake. Try out Zorba's! Nice drive around the lake. Visit Park Rapids and Itasca SP (headwaters of the Mississippi).
